I think yes. The absence of Bergland has "promoted" Sobtoka to playing way more than he should. It's scary just how ineffective Sobotka is considering how much ice-time he gets. Counter-point, if Bergland didn't ghost us then we'd be wringing our hands for the next 3,4 years trying to figure out how to unload his contract.

This win doesn't mean much if they can't beat the Rangers on Friday followed by the Devils on Sunday. Two teams they better not "play-down" to. After those games we have Tampa, Washington and Toronto. The next 4 points are mandatory as the following six will be a challenge.

Woof. Did Baloo refer to PH as Phyllis any time in the past two months? Is he in the doghouse? I'm amazed Hunwick is playing over him, or not sitting Scandy for a night to give him a chance. I know there was the "trade-request" for playing time, but he's played twice in 2019 and the team has been awful during that stretch. Would playing him be worse than Hunwick? I'd imagine he'd be playing hungry and desperate. I'm trying to recall but he didn't look that bad this year, did he? Certainly not as bad as last year.

Pre-mittlestatd news, I'd also really like the look of the line-up if you swapped Smith for Sobotka. Oh well....
