This team needs to get out of this free-fall in the standings. It can start tonight with a win, and a win in Vancouver. The Sabres of the past decade or so were incapable of any kind of winning streak. I don't think I'll ever like Housley as a coach, but i was willing to live with him the way they were playing in November. If the rest of the season plays out the way December onwards has gone then he better be on the hot-seat as this type of play should be unacceptable.

Berglund won't be filing a grievance, he doesn't want to be here. I'm basing this assumption off of the Lehner story, about how involved and accommodating JBOTs was during that entire process. If Berglund had personal issues that needed his attention, Botteril would have worked with him.

I think this is great. We dumped the cap dump of the trade. If you think he was under-performing this year, imagine that 3 years older. No thanks. This either opens up a spot to give a rochester prospect a shot or forces JBOT to go out and make a move to bring in more center depth, which i trust him to not ***** up. This makes the Sabres better in the not-too-distant future.

There is no chance that anyone is going to give him that money & term at his age considering his recent production. I understand why he would have had Buffalo on his No Trade list in the off-season, but this team is playoff bound this year and has, from what i've heard, great ownership. What a selfish player. Good riddance.

In my opinion, the GM was doing what was best for his team. Hockey is a business and that side can be ugly. If anyone is a piece of doodie it's clearly Bergland's agent for dropping the ball on submitting his no-trade list. Anyways, good riddance. When the ROR trade happened, his contract had me worried because of the length. Problem solved. This opens a spot for a kid to make an impression.

To the bold, what are you hoping for at the trade deadline? No team is going to willingly go out and try to acquire any of the frosty players on that list, we'd have to "pay" other teams to take them off our hands. I'm guessing this will be one of the quieter trade deadlines for us in recent years. We have nothing to sell but assets, and we should be using those picks.
