We really have to wait until the draft / free agency peak is concluded to see if there's any generated excitement surrounding the team. They would have to be making some significant moves to be moving the needle. Keeping Adams around after 5 years of failure has to be hurting the bottom line. I moved back to Buffalo 5 years ago and I would love to start getting a 10 game package or something, but that's not going to happen until the team isn't a perennial trash fire.

I was at a game in April and during a TV time out they were showing a gratitude message on the jumbotron about people who had renewed their tickets and I recall the scrolling list being waaayyyyy longer than I expected considering the state of the team. With the amount of higher-end prospects we have in Rochester I was always a bit annoyed every time he got a call-up. I always felt we should get getting our blue-chip prospects NHL experience so they could figure out what to work one when they get sent back down to the AHL. Calling up Rousek was a wasted development opportunity for higher end talent, imo.

It's better to see what Bryson will give you going into next year. If he has a few good games in Powers absence KA will be able to sleep well knowing he won't have to do anything in the off-season to address the D.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I went to the game over the weekend with someone who knows some of the coaching staff and we were talking about the Cozens trade. They said he's got a lot of talent, and his breakout year he was able to catch other teams off their guard. Once teams paid attention to him and started game planning around him his production died because he's "***** dumb" and has horrible hockey IQ. He was unable to adjust his game and that's why we've seen such a decline in his play. Other teams figured him out and he's a one trick pony work horse. As for the defensive coach being retained last year, which absolutely blew my mind, he as kept because Dahlin and Power both heavily advocated to keep him.
