I want to milk this streak for as long as there's still a drop in the teet. Banking these points now sets us up for success later and I'm not sure about ya'll, but I'd rather be playing a wild card team than Tampa or Toronto in round 1. Ugh...my playoff bracket this year is going to be a disaster since I'll be sending the Sabres all the way...or will it be a disaster? Win today and keep it rolling! On a side note, 4 years ago I started playing ice-hockey because the state of the Sabres had made me "lose my love for the game", which was regained 10-fold once i started lacing them up. Today marks the first time since I've started playing that I've actually considered skipping playing hockey to watch hockey. I've decided to play because I feel like skipping to watch is a jinx-recipe for disaster, and I'll give that no quarter. Go Sabres.

Last time we played Tampa I remember we got absolutely dominated by Tampa but Hutton stole the game for us. I don't want another game like that. Let's push them around a bit. Whose the hero going to be tonight? Pommers / Okie / Mitts / Dahlin are all due for a score. As is Sheary, is he playing tonight?

I just re-watched the OT and I'm not sure if it was mentioned up-thread, but the Sabres got a huge break from the refs on the OT winner. The last rush San Jose had prior the the GWG, San Jose passed the puck and the player was off-sides by a mile (at the 3:40 mark, even RJ noticed), total blown call by the refs. Had they whistled that play dead the sequence for Skinner would never had materialized. The refs were blowing calls all game though, so at least they're consistent. Nice to see one go our way though. Go Sabres. I want this streak alive for December 4th.

This would have been the worst timeline.

This thread is waaaay too early. That being said. Kyle Okposo has a modified No Trade Clause of 15 teams...can he list an expansion team as one of the 15, thus forcing the Sabres to protect him? This also feels Moulsony, in that, when the Vegas expansion was announced there were a lot of people saying "Vegas can just draft Moulson and take him off our hands". If KO is playing to a point where we're we want the team to take him to help us, that will never happen.

When Ray says to "slow things down" he's not advocating for the team to be skating slower, he's referring to the mental part of the game. Instead of getting the puck and reacting immediately, he's asking that the players think about their next play. Slowing the game down in their heads, to think a bit and make smart decisions with the puck, that's what he's implying. At least that's how I interpret it.

MUST WIN 4 POINT GAME -
This game worries me. Playing and beating 3 top 5 teams last week? No problem for the Sabres. Playing the Eastern Conference bottom feeder Penguins? Past me, as a jaded Sabres fan, already knows this outcome all too well. But this is a different team. They win games they maybe shouldn't and win games they should. So here's to Dahlin continuing his trajectory, here's to Jack going off on some goals tonight, and here's to Larsson, getting his first? Go Sabres.

Jack’s shooting % - Is it a problem?

Jack needs to score more on the powerplay. I'm fine with skinner potting all the 5v5 goals but the anemic power play is concerning. -

What a great win for the Sabres. Going into this stretch of games the general consensus was to get 4 of 8 points....which at the time seemed liked a tall order. Now we're looking to capture 2 out of the next 6 to hit the mark and my impression of that now is, "that seems low, let's get at least 4 of those 6". The game was pretty awful for the Sabres though. 2 shots in the second and 6 in the third will not often get it done but you can rely on your goalie to steal a game now and then, so hat's off to Hutton for tonight. The boys owe him one and hopefully they repay him immediately this weekend. Has there been any update on Scott Wilson? I often forget he's on this team nowadays. I imagine when he's healthy Tage will be sent back down to Rochester, taking the knowledge of how everything is done in the big leagues and will produce in the AHL. It'll be curious to see where Wilson slots in when he's healthy. Thankfully he won't be anywhere near the top line. -

Hoping for a quick strike by the Sabres in the third to push back against Tampa soon. I don't want them to let the Lighting work up momentum as the period wears on. -

Woof. That second period was not pretty, just the Sabres trying to weather wave after wave of Tampa possession. Alamo mode for 40+ minutes. Hopefully they can hang on. -

Love how undrafted EROD can handle 2nd line Center duty but our second overall pick who was drafted as a Center can't. What the deal with Sam? Will he be fine? -

This game is a true test of the team tonight. A divisional rival who hold the wildcard spot above ours? They've had a million days off, they better come out flying. I'm hoping this team can hold down a wild card spot through the first half of the season. Then Reinhart activates and we push into the top 3 teams in the division. -
I doubt our GM is hoping we are out of the playoffs by the trade deadline so he can trade away a player he just brought in via trade...for at least 2 different reasons

It's astounding that there are teams that will finish worse than the Bills.
