  1. Sorry, I was really not intending my post as a criticism but more of an observation and certainly not meant to get you to respond like that. It's all good with me if you used a thread to post your own collection of thoughts. It's all good with me if you respond in multiple threads. I accept the difference you were referencing. I just was finding it interesting that the club is littered with Trump examples so I thought maybe there would be more discussion in here simply on the older platforms that differ so much from today. In any event.. not a big deal and sorry if you took my post as a critique of your posting or your message, it wasn't meant to incite.
  2. And at that point in time the gossip around the league was that Jon Cooper was on the hot seat.. hah!
  3. There actually is an argument to this? You are too kind.
  4. My story is much like Weave's. I started with buckets in my townhouse about 25 years ago. Gradually worked my way up to a 30 gallon stainless, propane system with a 15G conical. Had the conical on a stand in a freezer with a temp control that would either kick in the freezer or engage an electric heat wrap as needed. Buddy and I went our separate ways and I assembled another 20G system at my house. I don't have the conical. It has sat there for years because I just don't have the time and frankly there is beer everywhere now and I can find something to drink. I still have a 3-4 tap kegerator sitting here as well but nothing in it. I'm trying to sell all of it.. not sure I will ever go back to brewing and if I did I would convert to electric. Either I'd drill into the stainless and put in heating that way or use conduction but on 30G that's a tough call. I brewed a ton of beer, enjoyed the hell out of it. Gave a ton away. Toyed with jumping into the brew business but couldn't take the financial risk at the time. I had some of the top brewers in the area giving my beer compliments so I felt like I was doing okay (they weren't just being nice, they would critique and did on some less good batches). It's a great hobby and I still sometimes wish I had the desire to do it more just so I can make some things you never find but the time and desire just isn't there any more. 5. Are we talking about the difference of 45 years ago.. or Trump? Is this the K-9 collective posting thread? 🙂 It's your own personal thread where you can aggregate all of your thoughts!
  6. Yup. not even a road trip for me. 🙂 Well, a little one I suppose.
  7. Well, one thing to consider is that SLC and surrounding areas are becoming Silicon Valley East... there are a ton of tech firms popping up there and companies moving HQ or major offices out of Silicon Valley. Naturally as those companies are coming in they are putting significant pressure on the government to enact more favorable policies. Speaking to a few people there things have really opened up over the past 3 years or so and it looks like its only going to continue.
  8. This is a complaint? Interesting. 🙂 Is this the most "foreign" post ever on this forum? At least one that used "English"? --- Still working on the status of my van... gotta find a new insurance company. Not sure any will be better but over the past few years Allstate seems to have really gone down hill. There are other reasons not to like them as well.
  9. Well... you've been accurate in other posts. But I dare not hope you are right because hope isn't a strategy. 🙂
  10. Well, they heard Zucker say hope isn't a strategy. So if there's no hope, then all that's left is a real strategy? the front office is brilliant!
  11. Not sure sure about SLC as I was immediately driving out of it to Provo, but the airport is nice. They have street pricing there which means all the stores use the same prices as they do at their normal street restaurants.. thought that was cool. Well, if you live outside SLC there are some really nice areas and the mountains are really nice. Not sure if it's not an upgrade.. it's missing football but it has basketball.. and the Olympics are going to be there again in 2034.
  12. And perhaps this is their thinking? If Buffalo fans won't come then let's entice them to sell to other teams' fans who will! And I liked the wing thing. I'm not blown away and I think schedule release crap is over rated anyway.. but there was some cleverness in there.
  13. All this complaining in here about injured players.. they don't play the whole season, etc. I'm confused. Isn't this the last year Adams can attempt to pull off the LTIR trick? Clearly he's going for it. I'm not saying he understands how it works, but I think that might be his goal.
  14. Indeed. I'm not saying to hide it. I'm just saying that's how our world works. There is a cabal of power brokers who steer much of the world events. No chance in hell we'll ever see that list.
  15. You are misconstruing the knowledge of a list of names with the actuality of the list itself and what actions those people on the list were involved with. What we know is that Epstein was involved in all kinds of illegal activities, including trafficking of minors, etc. What we know is that Trump had involvement with Epstein, so did Bill Gates, so did Bill Clinton, and so on. What we know is that someone has claimed that Trump was really big on power moves and screwing other people's wives along with many other indecent and deplorable ways to treat women. What we DO NOT KNOW is that Trump engaged in pedophilia. What we are reasonably positive of is that there is a list of names and potentially other information. Without that evidence making such claims is irresponsible. You can BELIEVE what you want, but I've never read anywhere of the insinuation that Trump was involved in pedophilia and I'm not going to allow that statement to be made as though it's fact. I am sure that list has a lot of really influential people on it. That's the kind of list that will never be published. It's an indictment on the kind of society we have in the United States (albeit the power matrices go well beyond the US borders). Underneath all of this is the fact that we are dealing with a group of individuals who routinely say anything that comes to mind and then forgets they ever said it. Do I put any credence into what Pam Bondi says? Hell no. Just like I don't listen to most of what anyone in this administration says because it's 99.8% hot air. The US has the reality show it always wanted, in the White House. Not a surprise from a country whose citizens pay more attention to the Kardashians and "Real" Housewives of anywhere than they do their local, state, and national politics.
  16. I've met my fair share of athletes. I had one run in with Andrew Peters and it's easily the most obnoxious and inconsiderate run-in I had ever had. He's a buffoon who is hanging on to whatever money he can scrabble from his brief moments in professional hockey. Not a chance in hell I would ever willingly choose to be in the same room with him again.
  17. I'm confused over "If the Trump administration doesn't need evidence..." Evidence regarding what? We are discussing your accusation both against Trump and by your statement against a forum member for voting for a pedophile, which would fit into your "supporting a pedophile" which is just as bad (to quote you). But, you clearly admit there is no evidence. As such, either edit your statement or I am going to remove it. We're not going to tolerate that insinuation here. Here, we are going to require evidence.
  18. Okay then. So you wouldn't even answer my question? How can there be healthy discussion if you choose to only throw barbs but not respond to questions to help clarify your position? There are all kinds of real problems and the economic position of the country is one of them. This is like arguing about getting a speeding ticket by saying "Don't the cops have anything better to do?" The answer to that is "Yes, they do but because you are breaking the law by speeding you are distracting them from those other, more important, things?" In this case, the economy also needs to be improved, so this is not a bad thing. Reaching the record high, no. But calling out up 26% since the April dip is marketing through and through. I used to work for a company that would let employees go throughout the year and then hire a large number of people at once. They made sure to be published in the news for how they were hiring so many people but strangely it was never reported on that they let more people go in the prior year than they were hiring. It's all in spinning the message. What would you attribute it to? I'm not saying Trump should be given credit for all this. My stance is that the market is proven time and time again that will fall with the announcement of bad news and then, not too much after that, it will conveniently forget the bad news and climb back up. Sure, there are protracted moments where the impact lasts longer. it's really not all that different from the our society as a whole. Bad news, when announced, garners a strong reaction, and then people forget about it as they are distracted by other things and eventually they get back to their lives (or focus on the next bad news). I continue to be on the fence about concealing their identity. I don't think it's unreasonable for people who are responsible for effecting the capture of international gang members to remain anonymous. They, and their families, are put at risk should their identities be discovered. It's certainly one thing to argue WHO they target and certainly some of their actions have been downright deplorable and potentially illegal. I think that's the real problem is seeing armed, masked men, disappearing people off the street or in very public venues easily draws the comparison to other regimes that we all agree have violated human rights using similar actions. Even then, even if their targets are seemingly harmless illegal persons, having their picture appear on a raid could still warrant them and their families to a response from gangs or other reactionary individuals. Please enlighten me. Has Donald Trump been reasonably accused or convicted of this offense? Are you using this terminology because he has ties to someone who has been convicted of this offense? While it's certainly reasonable to believe that Trump is aware of what Epstein was engaged in there's a difference in knowing and not saying anything and engaging in the actions required to earn that title. This is walking a really fine line and without some evidence I think crosses it for how conversations in this forum should be conducted. Provide evidence or edit your post please.
  19. In the saga of my alternate vacation plans and car the cause of injury has been identified. F'ing rodentia. Apparently nested up in the undercarriage and had chewed through parts of the main wiring harness which ultimately let go about 2.5 hours into the trip. So now the question will be... will insurance pay for the $7k repair or will they cut me a check and write the vehicle off? We shall see! Damn mice.. but at least insurance covers it. Comprehensive insurance for the win!
  20. It doesn't matter to me if it's true or not true. The only indisputable fact we have is that Admiral Pegula has yet to assemble a front office or team that can make the playoffs. He's managed to set a record of playoff misses in league that is effectively a coin flip probability to make it. He's chosen the wrong side of the coin each time for 14 consecutive flips. Of course it's not really how it works but does it really matter? All the semantics of who said or did what all roll up to that one very simple fact. He's failed as an owner of this team.
  21. Oh yeah. Every day has been something. We found an old inflatable pool and blew that up earlier this week when it was hot out. I made pina coladas and we listened to some music while hanging out in the pool. Until we realize the upper air chambers had slow leaks and the pool emptied itself. Oh well, the lawn needed watering anyway. I've been to a few breweries, I've been in the liquor cabinet as well. I did some deck maintenance that was overdue and I've made a few things in the kitchen that have been worthy. All in all, I'll make the best of it. Sorry about the fall.. sorry that you had to say it as "took ANOTHER fall" ugh. Yeah you hit the nail on the head at the end. It could have been much worse. The alternator repair was fairly priced and the guy actually did us quite a few favors as well getting us to Albany and back. It would have been nice, but we make the best of it. I had a friend get hit by a runaway tire one year while driving 81 near Gettysburg. Wrecked the hell out of his car. I've seen much worse on our travels too.. so all in all? Just roll with it.
  22. There's the kind of post you get called out by others for making. You've resorted to sensationalistic statements which is interesting given the nature of the person we're discussing in this thread. "Abdicating my rights as a citizen." - This is downright ignorant and dismissive statement. I've abdicated nothing. I clearly stated that I have to sit down to do an analysis to go deeper. I've indicated that I need to determine which criteria I want to use and how much weight I want to put into it. Should we use mental health criteria? Should we use fidelity criteria? Should we use charisma criteria? Should I use how much they lowered taxes criteria? Should I use how much they reduced the size of government criteria? There's a lot to actually think about and I'm only getting started. Frankly, I've not seen a President I would rate above a C in many years and quite possibly none of them since I've been alive which means I am reduced to what I can read about other Presidential terms since I did not live them. But, out of curiosity, which "side" have I chosen since you apparently know? Is your assumption that I support Trump because I refused to outright dismiss him or give him a poor grade? Who is your great role model of a President? I'm dying to know.
  23. Appert was new to the staff, but Rochester was instilling the Buffalo Sabres system in Rochester. Granato and Appert had the same style. It's easily searchable. Ruff tried his defensive system and structured play and it was soundly rejected. This is why we saw so many off-man rushes against, etc. The Sabres did not change much in how they played overall. It was abundantly obvious and most notably obvious in two key areas. Power Play (thanks Appert) and defense (thank Wilford) two carry overs who continued the same systems that were abject failures under Granato. Ruff is a figurehead as I said. He tried, he failed. McLeod and Zucker have no comparatives as they did not play for Granato. Tuch played 7 more games this past season than the season before. He had 8 more points and was +7 greater. He had more goals while having fewer assist and his short handed play accounted for most of the difference with 5 additional SHG and 8 additional SHP last season. He benefited from McLeod 🙂 Quinn cannot be compared due to injuries. Peterka had a great year and Cozens has to overcome his mental issues with the game. You are right, the team is poorly coached. It was poorly coached before and nothing has changed because the coaching staff barely changed. Again, Ruff was brought in because Granato wasn't cutting it and they needed someone who could sell "Buffalo" to the fans. We all know Appert will be the guy next year unless by some miracle Adams is fired and Jarmo is allowed to do what he wants (or maybe he'll like Appert, who knows). The defensive zone coverage of this team continues to be utterly broken and the defensive coach has been here the entire time it's looked that way. He'll be there next year.
