  1. http://www.uselections.com/pa/pa.htm Elections are in 2016. Get your campaign ready.
  2. You are so off base here it's ridiculous and I doubt that you are so naive as to not know this. The person coming forward, now, has lived with the event his entire life. He knows exactly what happened. There is no suggestion of third party knowledge here. It's not the same thing, it's not remotely close, you know this. That's what you let go. You don't let go the disgusting events that occurred that are blight on humanity. When there is proof, then get back on the horse and ride like Paul Revere... until then it's good to just keep your suspicions to yourself and investigate on your time. As was said back then, prove it or be quiet. Finally, you are victim shaming here. I find that disgusting in its own right.
  3. Moulson is a player who needs someone to get him the puck. That player was not on the roster last year but Murray knows that player is coming. So he snapped up Moulson when he could so that one of Grigorenko, Reinhart, or Eichel could get him the puck. Not every move is made for the year its made in.. These players are aware of the systems at this point. The decision making speed is something they will either have the capacity for or not. I don't think your analogy to algebra applies because in this case they've been playing hockey their entire lives and had different systems. The subtleties are there but it' not a huge jump. The same with a QB. A QB with the capacity to learn will learn it all at once with perhaps some minor wrinkles thrown in later. The basic sets are the basic sets on both sides of the ball. The question becomes more of whether the system is so complex that it's not possible to learn it at the level that would be required to master it. At any point in time the entire system can be decided upon and built out as complex it needs to be but the rendering engine (human brain) needs to be able to find all of those inputs and make decisions at a speed that is not possible. Worse yet, when you need all 5 players on the ice doing it at the same time the problem is further enhanced. So, a complex system can be learned by top level players but that does no good if they expect a teammate to be in a position because they read the play one way and the other player didn't. I worry less about Reinhart and Eichel and a lot more about the lower end players who have to play with them.
  4. Summed up quick.. yes, I left that part out. You are going to get money anyway. I wouldn't dispute it the other way. I know the research as well. :) If I had 20% of $5m and it was that or nothing or 100% at 4.5m I am going 4.5m all the way.
  5. It's not nice to stereotype. Except in this one instance.
  6. Both of my kids get their shot at playing games. It's not something I hide from them.. Then again, I also coach hockey and baseball so it's not the only thing for which I am known. I game a lot, it's my stress reliever. Everything in moderation for them however. It's all about balance.
  7. It's amazing how myopic people get on these things. I guess it's amazing. I know "The Internet" but that shouldn't excuse it. He's Canadian. He had an opportunity to work in the CENTER of the HOCKEY UNIVERSE. How does he not take it? Win in Toronto and become a GOD to many in Canada. Win in Buffalo and a city will worship you. It's a no brainer. The only problem is.. he has to get by the Sabres to win. So, we'll always have that.
  8. Nah. Start a collection to buy the BN and just fire the guy instead. No need to do him harm. :)
  9. I am still in Rochester because, and only because, of my wife. Sure, but when you phrase it like this I suddenly think of Toronto as Sharon Stone's character in Casino. I know it got harped on earlier in the thread when your stream of consciousness basically caused your posts to be unreadable, but at least this one I could read. And someone responded already, but let me ask you a question. You are in a contest where you have a 20% chance at winning $5M and a 100% chance at winning $4.5M. They ask you to hold up a sign as to which you prefer. No one is holding up the $4.5M sign. Not one person, not ever. As far as Murray's analogy, I completely understand it. If you don't that doesn't make it wrong or any worse than it is. The simple premise is this. You spend your time working the roster, working the system, only to be told at the very last moment that you didn't get the top prize. None of the people in the Sabres organization WANT to lose, they just understood what had to be done and were committed to doing it. So, they put in their time, and boom, second best. That said, they knew they only had a small chance at winning top prize. This point is so over and done with that it shouldn't even come up anymore. No one wants second best. No one. We talked about the NHL odds in the lottery. Go review the recent NBA draft where for the first time since 2004 the worst team in the league won the lottery. I don't follow basketball so I'm not sure if the NBA tweaked the percentage of winning but the Timberwolves had a 25% chance of winning. Assume that was the case the entire time and it speaks just the reality of winning. No one wants second best. They just have to live with it because of the lottery. In another 8-10 years, we'll all be able to take all the factors into account and then be able to say who was the better pick in 2015. Right now you can only hypothesize.
  10. Won't it be grand that they will have to get through the Sabres to achieve those goals?
  11. If he had a smile it was probably gas. Weren't the Wings rumored to be wanting Phaneuf? Seems like Babcock probably had some input on that? Maybe he really likes Phaneuf?
  12. Good on him. There is one thing that is a definite after this.. Babcock isn't a golden boy. No matter what he played the game and he came out on top. In so doing he backtracked on his winning team comments, and more. Whatever, let him go. He's nice to have, but he wasn't going to solve all the problems by himself. There are others... there will always be others.
  13. Blah blah. Perhaps they just wanted Toronto to look stupid and forced their hand to such a high number? :) Next up..
  14. It was reported that the Murray spoke with Mclellan at least briefly wasn't it?
  15. Seriously? Haven't a lot of people tried this with chz? I'm not going to go back through the word-flinging crap but one note in the "family" conversation caught my eye. There's a world of difference in the situation when comparing someone who has been fired from their job as opposed to someone who has a choice to make. When you are fired, you go where you can earn. Choices are limited. When people are falling all over themselves to give you millions of dollars you can be a lot more patient in the decision making process. Babcock has the chips. He controls his future. It'll be what it is. He's earned his position (whether anyone believes it or not). He gets to play the game.
  16. If you believe what Chz has said about what she does you'd believe it more.
  17. Playoff beards.. automatically growing. I can't be the only one who used to modify the appearance of my player throughout the playoffs to add facial hair right? :)
  18. We are known for our Wings... so that's gotta count for something right? Also.. Chz gave it away. At least the potential of it... sunglasses and all. Cross-referencing between threads tells the tale.
  19. Mike Ramsey would have checked him.
  20. Came across this stuff the other day... it's been quite amusing: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeImKFecYFCzKacBAZGzcJEVm9OWN1PFZ Honest Video Game Trailers...
  21. The sandwich feeds more than 1 normal sized person. It's absurd. It was really really good. I've not had smoked meat in Montreal but I've eaten at Katz's. That said.. I don't recall it being a revelation for me.
  22. I completely agree. Mike Weber sets an attitude. There may be a time when he's not needed, but that time is not now. Also, how often do you think Pronman gets asked if he's into pr0n? Perhaps it's the Internet culture in me.. but seeing that name immediately triggered those thoughts.
  23. I dunno.. if that gets hammered then I am pretty sure the upthread commentary on ex's and chihuahuas swimming in Lake Erie might deserve some consideration.
  24. But you only need 1 great player to be a great team. Clearly Eichel is a bust.
  25. Clearly they should have fixed the first round so this conflict would not be a conflict.
