My understanding is that it should be Zhid-litch-key. But I'm definitely not an expert on these things.

We've all learned not to become lawyers or doctors. -
Even the Buffalo cliches are second class.

It's stuff like that that will win fans over in the coming years. Those are some classics.

I think there is too much emphasis placed on the NHL itself for these problems. The players formed a Union so they could get better representation. I don't see the NHLPA doing anything to speak to its own constituency about the problem. I don't see the NHLPA stepping up for the transition program. The NHL and NHLPA have to work together on this but I'll never understand how the Union doesn't become more involved when one of its own members takes out another of its members.

So we now know who Chz is.. -
The flipside of the problem are the players who keep turning their back to plays with the expectation that they are not supposed to get hit. Most of the time it works, but in those split seconds sometimes it doesn't. Sure, they draw a penalty but was it worth it? Watch how many players flip a puck and immediately turn their back to a checker. Watch how many guys cycle along the boards but will put themselves in a vulnerable position the moment they think they will get lit up with the expectation they won't. In truth, of most players anticipated the hits and didn't turn their back to plays I think the amount of problems would also lessen. But because there are rules and consequences for the hitting now you see a lot of players no longer willing to take the hit to make the play. They turn their back and expect that they have gained an advantage because they can't get hit anymore. Except when they do.

Clearly they signed Rodrigues so Eichel can skate with him while in Rochester.

Product Manager - currently overseeing Carrier Ethernet services, before that overseeing Cloud Services. Generally speaking, I research markets, develop new product requirements, perform price analysis and a million other things. My job is to run my product as if I were the CEO of a company selling just my products. The only trick is that I don't get to fire people who underperform. Historically I am a tech person, done everything in IT you can think of from help desk through cloud engineering, etc. Blah blah blah. I do free lance CTO/CIO type consulting for small non-profits as well. And I coach hockey and baseball.. because the best remedy for a bad day is to coach kids. -
Always wondered what happened to this guy.

I stopped reading at that point. Two things wrong with that phrase. The first is even relating such a subject to this situation. The second is that even if the author had used a more appropriate comparison the point is that Tim Murray has the same damn expressionless intonation in everything he does. Hey Tim, congratulation on getting married! - "Thanks, she had the best odds to make a good life moving forward. You never know. It's free to listen to other offers." Hey Tim, congratulations on the birth of your first child! - "Thanks, the future is uncertain for him. You expect he'll be successful but he could be a criminal. We'll see what happens." Hey Tim, sorry to hear about your dog passing away. - "Thanks, at that age you have to expect something to happen. It's likely going to be a bad outcome."
-
If you look at things in a vacuum it may be. Your statement suggests that some other team wasn't offering something slightly less valuable to the jets so unless Murray got there he wasn't going to get the trade. Murray's job is to assess talent and make the team better. His willingness to give up players is based upon so many more factors than we'd ever know. We can only judge by the outcome of the trade after the fact. The value of this trade hasn't become clear yet. When a GM makes a trade it isn't always just about that one deal. The deal could be setting the stage for the future. Murray cleared a few contracts with the deal and removed the need to deal with a future contract on the books in Lemieux. imagine if you only made the best move in chess based only on the biggest possible gain at that very moment without regard to the future gains. You'd be a horrible chess player.

There's a world of difference in saying the wrong thing as opposed to saying something the wrong way. Tim Murray says what he feels and he doesn't try and sugar coat it. Because most of the world lives its life trying NOT to offend someone people get all bent out of shape at straight forward comments. As for what the media says, who cares. The media's job is to overreact to everything these days. So, go figure, they overreacted because those people have chosen a profession where they have to pander to the neanderthals of this world who can't take a moment to think for themselves. It's important that people tell us how we should feel about something. I can't believe the amount of wasted energy that has gone into this. The speculation that players won't want to come here because of what Murray said. As a player I know I'm going to get straight talk from the guy. A guy like that will get players like that. Those are players who don't spend their time needing someone to coddle them. They don't need psychology. They have the desire to show up and play and be called out when they suck. It all sounds too horrible for me. The fact that Murray clarified his statements the next day doesn't prove he was wrong. It merely suggests that he recognizes and was probably asked to clarify his comments so people would stop crying over things. As for fans being upset, I think people are just pissed they didn't get the first pick. Perhaps there's some underlying bias towards a Canadian player over a US born player and their ability to dominate. At this point I no longer care. Eichel is coming (most likely) and every report I've seen on him says he's outstanding. I've not heard any negatives. I keep seeing comparisons on how he compares to other recently drafted players who went through the NCAA, etc. He seems to have blown them away.

I also use a knife and fork when necessary. Even used a spork two or three times. What's worse? (draft position 2010-2015) Team A: #1, #1, #1, #7, #3, #1 Team B: #23, #16, #12, #8, #2, #2 I think Edmonton wins in a landslide. No matter what the Sabres have done the past two seasons.
-
Despite his choice in name? Someone would. You know it. Everyone bitched about winning too many games. Then they rejoiced for finishing 30th. Then they bitched that the coach was let go because they lost. It's like bitching about having to mow the grass all the time when you also fertilize the hell out of it and water it like crazy.
-
Damn.. that's even worse.
-
I pulled this as I was going through the thread and then you built upon it. For what it's worth they weren't terrible two years ago so they could draft 1st this year. They only have to be terrible one year. Still, as the system goes no team is guaranteed the top pick so unless you are a moron you can't lose to get #1.. you can only lose to get pick 1 or 2. The fact that you completely ignore that and believe that somehow the Sabres weren't aware of this fact is ridiculous. It happened last year to the Sabres. Clearly they know how it works. Why wouldn't you wear the Sabres stuff? What does that say about you? I'd wear it. When people make a comment you just say "I'm here through the good and the bad." End of story. Otherwise.. find another bandwagon. Because that's the line of crap everyone spews and no one believes. If he had said that we'd be on here picking him apart for being delusional about not wanting the #1 pick. He lays it out exactly like it is. The fact that some people can't handle reality doesn't surprise me. He's not whining, he's making an absolute statement. Who the hell chooses the second best of anything willingly? Who? No one. It's stupid. He hates the system. And you know what cracks me up is that so many people on here are bitching about the system too. So here we are blasting Murray for getting shots in on the NHL while also taking those same shots. This place amazes me sometime. Hate hate hate. It's all you got. All of the people who get paid to evaluate talent seem to disagree with you. So, please give me some reason why I should give your comment here any merit? It tells me that he hates the fact the NHL has a lottery and because of that "our fans" have to deal with no getting the #1 pick. Rolling Stone was deemed pretty reliable too.. until they had a UVa rape story to run with. Does it suck they don't pick #1? Sure. Does it suck they get Eichel? No.. not at all. Get over it. This team will be a lot better next year and there is a lot of talent. At this point I swear people on here would find something to complain about if the Sabres won the Stanley Cup.

Meh. They all but said they will be moving someone from their group. McDavid just made RNH expendable. Who wants to trade for RNH? There's a certain cool factor on having the US born star on the team. He's coming for us... he said so. He knew. He can see the future. That should help him.
-
Stoll... WTF. Good move.
-
Good thing I am slammed busy all day until the drawing so I don't have to think about it.
-
Didn't Ted Black "oversee" the lottery when the Penguins were awarded Crosby? Hmmm...
-
You'll be able to tell if he knows how the drawing will go based on the look on his face. :w00t:

The second teaser was amazing. The shot of the downed star destroyer was incredible. Things look really good. And I think I could watch X-wings fly over water all day. But.. have you seen this:
