  1. Man.. a great discussion. I honestly am so just let live that I don't even bother to think about these kinds of things. If I meet someone who tells me they are whatever they are then I'm good with that. I'll do my best to recognize them as they want to be recognized. I don't even know that I want to have a discussion about it. I was also never the guy to have the "guy" conversations about women and that crap. It's just not my business, period. If you tell me you want to be a woman or a man or that you like women or men, then so be it. Good to know.
  2. Get on it.... ?
  3. The return from the Lightning would have to be astronomical. The Senators will struggle enough losing Karlsson, but putting him in your own division will only add to the pain. What a mess they have created. The Lightning have a ton of players with NMC/NTC. Who in their right mind is going to WANT to go to Ottawa? This means they have to move players who are not protected. Kucherov has no protections and neither does JT Miller, who they just signed. If you total up the rest of the roster that is not protected it barely clears enough cap space for Karlsson. One would think it might include another team so that the player from the Lightning might be willing to waive their NTC/NMC.
  4. I'm fine with the current setup. I like the goal song. What I always missed was RJ's goal call replay. That was the best. Of course now he's not calling every game and you really need something iconic like RJ's calls... Dunleavy just wouldn't be the same.
  5. Here's how I would like this to operate. Whomever is selected to help admin the club will work by these rules: Moderation Guidelines What may be deleted - If you post anything that is extremely derogatory towards a forum member. If you post anything that is considered hate speech. If you post anything that is racist or uses racist terminology. If you use derogatory slang to refer to a group, movement, etc. What may be censored - Whatever the board already censors My personal belief is that we all live by our words. You write them, post them, you live by them. My encouragement is to make the posts useful and provide supporting material. It promotes discussion. Anyone can disagree without providing substance but it doesn't promote discussion and a forum, by its very nature, is a medium to promote discussion.
  6. I thought the Oval office was involved in everything. ? We could change the name if its important.

There's no such thing as an unmoderated world. That said, your concerns are noted. I will post in the politics "club" on what you can expect. If you don't like it... don't participate.
  8. Ditched? As you wrote that post you realize that Kane would have been gone now whether the GM wanted him to be gone or not right? As for ROR being traded, the results of that trade are not even close to being realized. However, you ignored the fact that two players came back in that deal both of whom can increase the scoring of the team. The optimism for me is that the players that are gone have been replaced adequately enough. The defense is improved and the goaltending as well. Kane was largely irrelevant to the team in January and February when they were playing their best hockey of the season. He was not even in the top 5 in scoring. O'Reilly was consistently in the top 5 but his highest was when Eichel was out injured. It's more the strict HTML coding that is using a paragraph tag which drops two lines as opposed to just the normal line break which drops to the next line.
  10. I think Baptiste would be snatched up by someone. Bailey less likely, but still possible. Players that don't get taken are usually older ones with higher cap hits. Pominville could be sent to Rochester with scarce a chance he'd be grabbed by someone. Just because the Sabres were last does not mean that their younger players are no good and couldn't crack the lineup. They were kept in Rochester intentionally. Many players are kept in a lower league until they have to be brought up. It provides GMs with roster flexibility to deal with the injuries that happen during the season.

    Ah-yup. Ah-yup.
  12. Nice...looking forward to it. You are on the clock! ?
  13. Another forum I am on had recently switched to this new software so I had some pre-exposure to it. That said, it was not as busy as this place. I've already altered my workflow on the site based on the updates. I'm really loving the changes. Great job SDS... thanks for the time spent on this.

I tried to edit mine to make it the right choice. You know, with the picture and the icon. ? Did it because I said I would.. I will actually create another one soon (not politics.. derrrr)
  15. Honestly.. that's almost all I care about. If his shot can routinely put the puck in the back of the net I will be happy. There are players who will get the puck to him.
  16. Is this how you picture him? It's not how I pictured him.. until your post made me want to search google images and find something. But now I think it will be how I picture him.
  17. Man.. that would be really cool. Really cool. Would you implement it as a form to take the input or just have people pass the numbers in? I would then pull the numbers from some kind of database that had the name, picture, etc. It could be awesome.
  18. Being drunk will increase your chances of falling down.
  19. I'm not sure how you determined anything about my opinions with regards to a drug problem in NHL. I was merely trying to understand the difference between one player being singled out for alcohol issues versus the other 19 (or some subset) for drug use. I think you clarified it. You don't like people singling out O'Reilly based on their references to liquor distributors and bar owners, but you are okay with making a more indirect accusation against a locker room for drug use. Personally I don't find a huge difference in what is being said. In your scenario we get to guess at who might be the drug users. In the O'Reilly scenario we get to guess if it's true or not. I see your scenario as more of a witch hunt and the O'Reilly scenario as more of a fact finding mission. And ultimately, I don't care about either. What people choose to do in their own world is of no consequence to me. Granted, O'Reilly driving into a TIm Horton's window while under the influence is of concern to me (and was at the time). If you want to impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle (regardless of how you do it) then don't get in the motor vehicle.
  20. I'm not trying to insinuate that you said O'Reilly was too slow. I don't recall who said it and who didn't. I know it was a topic of conversation. I'm not arguing against his most productive season and Duchene. It is interesting that both of those players forced their way out of Colorado though. Truthfully, I am more using your analogy of O'Reilly to say that speed isn't critical to play with Eichel. Thompson may fill that role even better because you don't need him to be the defensive side that you wanted from O'Reilly. Eichel did also improve his defensive play throughout the season. Sorry to pull you back in. :)
  21. No video... the boos will depend on how the Sabres are doing and how he is going in St. Louis. At least I think that... If the Sabres are better then he will get booed. If they are not better then he won't get booed.
  22. So, if I have this correct. You say that drug use is rampant in the NHL and there are people in the Sabres locker room that have the same issues (in reference to the discussion on Kane). Then when someone says ROR is abusing alcohol you tell people he's being thrown under the bus and you demand sources. Would you say that I am accurately reflecting your conversation here?
  23. Is there a reason that the real journalists cannot do the same thing that the apparently non-real sports journalists are doing? Couldn't The Atlantic hire local reporters to provide a focus on Buffalo politics and corporate activities? Newspapers are a dying medium. The ability to be a reporter is still a useful and desired skill. It just has to be delivered differently.
  24. Money over everything... Unless you are OEL http://arizonasports.com/story/1579834/coyotes-oliver-ekman-larsson-8-year-extension-heart-in-arizona/ "It's just money."
