Goaltending? Defense? After the Whistle debate.
TheAud replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
Granato: "Now Rasmus, I know I've been rolling you out there more than 23 minutes a game, over 3 minutes more than anyone else on the team, against the best the league has to offer and I know you lead the team in assists. But dammit, when you screw up you aren't feeling enough shame and taking the time to consider just how bad you are and how awful it makes us all feel when you look like an absolute tool out there...well it's just unacceptable. So I am demoting you to the press box to consider how to play better to stop looking like a tool." Consequences like these you mean? -

A 'time out'. Listen to yourself. He's a professional athlete, not a toddler. Of course he bears the consequences of his play...his teammates and coaches and fans all see it, his statistics suffer, and he is acutely aware of it. If you observe his demeanor it clearly weighs on him already. He's the most talented D-man on the team. Change his role a bit, at least for a time? Sure, that makes sense. Get him more help with a stronger partner if he is playing top pair minutes? Of course, if possible, this needs to happen anyway. But how is taking him entirely out of the line up and replacing him with Will Butcher going to help him or the team in any tangible way, shape, or form? You are advocating punitive actions as a frustrated fan. It's understandable. But we can agree to disagree on this. -

Ideally, bench him, alienate him until he demands a trade, then trade him for pennies on the dollar. That's how we do it folks! -
Well, that's my point. At his size he better be Tory Krug-esque and he sure ain't.

Bryson is too small to play defenseman in the NHL

14 points in 22 games while skating 23 min/game. What is required for someone to "belong in the NHL" in your world? Point per game?

Don't put it in the dryer after washing or it will really shrink.

GDT: Sabres at Washington, Nov. 8, 2021, 7pm, MSG, WGR

At the end of the day, the Capitals hockey players are a lot better than the Sabres hockey players. Hard to overcome that. -

Is Washington playing 6 skaters on 5? -
You're completely wrong.

My head too. I think a move indicating a well run organization is a good sign they are...a well run organization. Or at least becoming one.

As of 10/27/21, both Tommy and Dick Smothers are both still alive. I find that amazing for some reason. Tom is 84, Dick is 82. I would have thought they were both north of 90 or pushing up daisies. Learn something new every day.

Based on the last 10 years or so this would be cathartic after every goal, and if the team needs a rest just play the whole thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUvxRjYqjEQ

Rasmus Dahlin signs 3 years 6 Million AAV Contract with Sabres
TheAud replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Interesting that old 'friend' Cal Peterson got a 3 year deal for only $1M less per year than Dahlin on the same day. Things would feel different if he were on the Sabres right now. Although that assumes the organization wouldn't have screwed him up by now. -
They have to rent "Rich Stadium" from the owner, Erie County. The Bills have a lease to play football games there. Who knows if travel between the US and Canada will be normalized for fans by then. This could be the only opportunity Canadian Sabres fans have to see the team live. Lucky for them, it's only one game unlike American fans that could have to see them 40 times...

I've been going to some concerts where I am only somewhat familiar with the artists and left them both as a more dedicated fan, seeking out more of their stuff. This is the first time I have ever done this. Anyway, in the past week I checked out Blackberry Smoke at one show and Brandi Carlisle at another. Quite different musically but I am enjoying both of them on Spotify. Both are true artists, dedicated to their craft and excellent live. The audiences were also quite different I might add. Lots of Rednecks and Lesbians, but not on the same night. I am neither, but both were great crowds. BBS opening act was the Allman Betts Band. I am a massive Allman Brothers Band fan but I can only say "eh" to their progeny. Seem like nice guys, gave it a good go. The opening act for Brandi was Rickie Lee Jones, from back in the day. My God she was bad.

In other words, he has some offensive Prow-ess

Interesting. So you think GMKA should sign another LD or two?

This past season was the first time in my life I didn't watch a single Sabres game from beginning to end. Often I couldn't find the motivation to spend my time on such a poor team. The times when tried they stunk the joint up so bad I couldn't hang around for the whole thing. Seeing what's happened this past week, culminating with the apparent decision to yet again not address the most important position in hockey, I think I may have a hard time even following this team at all. I can't tell if we are seeing an intentionally devastating tank, grotesque incompetency, or simply a franchise so down on it's luck it's essentially viewed as a minor league team. It may sound melodramatic, but as a fan I really can't take it anymore.

Allen carried the Bills on his back for the Colts game.

I'm glad we are getting deeply into this set of rules. As a Sabres fan it's very important to understand the mechanics of the draft lottery. That's our playoffs.
