I just looked at Tage since Feb 1st (randomly chosen date because it was easy to get the stats and I feel like his game has really picked up since then). It's 34 games. In that time he has 22 goals and 12 assists. Projecting to 80 games (I always assume guys miss at least 2 games a season) that's 52 goals and 22 assists = 80 points. Probably won't happen, but if Tage puts up 50+ goals in a season I am going to call him Eichel's equal, in my mind at least.

I'd take Asplund over Larsson at equivalent points in their careers. I never understood the Larsson love around here. To me he was pure tank material. Whereas Asplund can be a value-add 4th line defensive-minded forward who chips in on driving some offense.

Is that relative to all NHL defensemen or a 19 year old playing in his first game and logging 19 minutes? Either way, I'm willing to give him until game 3 or even game 4 to see if he has more willingness to generate offense by pinching more.

I view this line as a positive. Once the unofficial Tank is done (next season) it will be an immediate upgrade to replace these turds with replacement level players or better. Guys like Okposo and Asplund will be taking their ice time as they are bumped down by Quinn and Peterka.

A 'time out'. Listen to yourself. He's a professional athlete, not a toddler. Of course he bears the consequences of his play...his teammates and coaches and fans all see it, his statistics suffer, and he is acutely aware of it. If you observe his demeanor it clearly weighs on him already. He's the most talented D-man on the team. Change his role a bit, at least for a time? Sure, that makes sense. Get him more help with a stronger partner if he is playing top pair minutes? Of course, if possible, this needs to happen anyway. But how is taking him entirely out of the line up and replacing him with Will Butcher going to help him or the team in any tangible way, shape, or form? You are advocating punitive actions as a frustrated fan. It's understandable. But we can agree to disagree on this.

Ideally, bench him, alienate him until he demands a trade, then trade him for pennies on the dollar. That's how we do it folks!

As of 10/27/21, both Tommy and Dick Smothers are both still alive. I find that amazing for some reason. Tom is 84, Dick is 82. I would have thought they were both north of 90 or pushing up daisies. Learn something new every day.
