We literally tore down a statue of a general that was crucial in the victory against the redcoats... Because he was a slave owner. So we don't exist as the USA if this man wasn't in his position. This can be dissected in many ways, but we have enough current issues that eating time and resources to chase ghosts seems silly.

The fact that we are erasing history in all of these places just shows how out of touch we really are. There's no one alive that was a slave (basically no one) the Irish don't complain about slavery, neither do the hundreds of other cultures that were enslaved that shape the world we live in Today. It would be different if these things were going on. It's a very United States thing, I don't see paintings of all the monarchs being destroyed in Europe, and some of those dudes were terrible. But here we are, taking down statutes at a cost of over 60k because someone got butthurt about the past that is clearly in the past.

I care about this about as little as I care about the anthem being sung before a game. It starts to feel watered down when these things keep getting added on to by teams across the league. Sure, keep hockey fights cancer, or maybe one veteran night, but it's a game; were here for entertainment and a possible escape from life and it's problems. Let's just have a few hours if that without having to watch people get butthurt over what they perceive as an agenda.

I just somehow ran a half marathon I Banff in 2hrs and 50 minutes, zero training at all and I hiked 38miles the last few days... I think I've gone crazy.

Well, it's not quite where I'd like it to be and there's still a bit of a road ahead, but I need to keep moving as travel is my passion. Gotta take the better days and roll with them.

I did a 12 mile hike from lake Moraine to Lake Louise today, it was beautiful and that is not my complaint. My complaint. My body is So F'in sore 😂😂, I'm like wobbling getting up from a seating position because I'm so out of shape and am stupid enough to do this hike with 4k feet of elevation.

Off to Banff in a few minutes, had to drive to Toronto last night and wake up at 5am, so no watching the last game (what a shame) I did check the score and it appears that I did not miss that much at all. Vegas throttled Florida and it wasn't particularly close. I long for the days we fill the plaza again.

I will say it, a majority of the playoffs after the first round has been crap. This series has been fairly boring overall, I had hopes before it started, but Florida just doesn't match up well and Maurice has been badly out coached. I'm against shorter series, especially in the finals/conference finals, but let's just end this and get to the off season.

I despise paper straws, they disintegrate in 45 seconds. I don't know how or why we drew the line at straws. There has to be someone on another planet watching us and laughing at some of our collective decisions.
