If you want to be in Buffalo this weekend, your odds of getting here by plane are going to drop considerably by tomorrow evening.

To add, it’s not gaining an additional 7 pts, it is gaining 7 MORE points than the team in front of you, and the same for all the other teams that need to be leapfrogged. It is why standings at Christmas are so indicative of playoff representation. The hurdle becomes immense.

I have to thank the Pegulas for making my evenings far more productive than they used to be.

No. Their irrelevance started before I started posting on message boards. You guys are a habit. As I’ve mentioned a couple of times already, my son has commented that I am more interested in the off ice than the on ice. 12 years is a long time to cement that behavior. We’ll see.

For most of the last era I told myself that I would become a fervent fan again when the team became relevant again. I don’t know. I was a fervent Bills fan until about the 6-7 yr mark of irrelevance. They have been a top team for what, 4 seasons now? I don’t make a point of staying up to watch the prime time games. It’s not important to me anymore. Not even the ones that are truly meaningful. I check the score first thing in the morning. So, I don’t know. I don’t know if it grows back, or if reprioritizing is long term. I suspect the latter.

By then the team will need to replace all the mid career guys like Dahlin when they lose their love for the game.

Overhyped

Nope. Its over. It was over before Christmas. We’re at the halfway point now. It’s definitely over after the Kraken game. There is no wishing and hoping from here. The pace they’d need is nearly historic, with no prior indication they have it in them.
