  1. Honestly, I have no idea if this is a fair value trade. I’m more commenting on what we see here everyday. Everyone wants to win. Noone wants to give up a magic bean to do it.
  2. I want the Sabres to win now. I want to hold the team accountable. I don’t want to make any sacrifices to make it happen.
  3. A real rivalry requires hate going both ways. Maybe it’s the Norris thing, or maybe it’s because we’re just that poor city over the border, but there has never been any real emotion coming back from Toronto. Buffalo is just another team in the league to them. It’s hard to have a rivalry when the other side is like, “who”?
  4. Yeah, I can’t really see a scenario where Im ever rooting for the Bruins to win anything. And Sens are definitely higher than the Leafs on my hate meter.
  5. I don’t have any strong emotions regarding KA pretty much lying to us, but it has altered my perception of him. It’s hard for me to not see him as a bit of snake. Maybe they all are. No idea. Don’t really care. I do know that what he says from here is not taken at face value any longer. Transparency is no longer assumed from my chair.
  6. So, only one side thinks there is a rivalry, and the other is like “whatever”?
  7. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
  8. Yup. PR and marketing nailing it. Hockey Ops, not so much.
  9. That is predictable too.
  10. The Leafs did it wrong. They didn’t tank. Or something. I don’t have a point. I’m just being sarcastic to be sarcastic .
  11. Same with Ralph. Same with Housley. “Refreshing”, “Honest”, “Upbeat”. Even “Inspirational “. Even old, familiar Lindy gets the shiny new toy syndrome. We are predictable.
  12. I still suspect the the trade was made to give the team an additional season to use the asset in a move to bring in a different type of player into the lineup. I think they ran out of time to use Mitts for that purpose and have bought time.
  13. Any Gary Clark Jr fans? Two weeks from now at Art Park.
  14. I’ve always been a first thing in the AM quitter. I don’t just walk into the office. I schedule a meeting with an not inflammatory meeting name. Grats, bro. Go get after them.
  15. LoFL Yeah, it’s real tortuous to have a long term near the top of the league team, elite stars, and annual playoff births. WTAF. A decade ago this board started predicting the Bruins demise too. Let’s not be proud of what the Sabres are building until they’ve actually done something to make us proud, ffs. As PA likes to point out, Sabres PR and marketing doing a bang up job with this low expectation fanbase. ETA- Let’s not forget that the current Leafs team is essentially what the Sabres were until 15yrs ago, and we were more than happy to love a team that had stars, had success and expectations, but couldn’t quite put together playoff success (other than a run behind a world class goalie and a mediocre set of skaters). We used to be what Toronto is now, and that’s exactly what we are all hoping we might be able scratch and claw back into.
  16. I have a hard time comparing Benson to Sabres past. He’s not the prototypical top 6 skillset, but he’s got a unique level of compete that overcomes it to some extent. We are into “concept of” level of discussion regarding Benson. My initial thought was, if Drury was a winger instead of a center, their games might be similar. But it’s Chris ***** Drury. I don’t want to make that comparison. And I shouldn’t make that comparison. It’s way too soon.
  17. We are already super losers. Record setters, FFS. That’s why I don’t understand the angst over “what if prospect X becomes awesome somewhere else”. I don’t give a damned about prospect X being good for someone else a few years down the line. I care about this team right now playing its way back to respectability.
  18. Still needs neck bolts
  19. I’m definitely getting that sense.
  20. Most of us don’t have the 401k savings to sub olive oil for butter. I’m working on the 3 B’s retirement program, bacon, butter, and bourbon. I have no intention of outliving my savings.
  21. I have concerns about Lindy coaching this team at this time, but having to learn what it takes to be an NHL coach is definitely not one of them.
