To me it feels like a PR hire, not a hockey hire.

Who will be the next Head Coach of the Buffalo Sabres?
Weave replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
On the day Granato’s firing was announced, I went against the grain at the time and called this year’s failure as KA’s failure. Complicit was the term I used. KA absolutely failed to recognize and address the glaring weakness in roster and leadership. As you state here, this is maybe a borderline playoff roster, even with the right coach. Nevertheless, Donnie had hit his ceiling and it was time to move on. I suspect he’ll be a good head coach in the future if he gets the chance to serve as an assistant under a successful coach. Naive seems an apt description, and one that is readily shed with exposure. -
I have it on good authority that he doesn’t even kiss French.

Gat damn. That sucks. Hope you land on your feet.

If the Byram trade was a move to get a player with more remaining contract and similar value to facilitate a future trade to fill a need, I’d be somewhat impressed.

Per Tim Graham a stake of 25% of the Buffalo Bills is for sale

That has been my experience from the little guy POV. -
I had one of the songs show up in my Amazon music stream today. I enjoyed it.

I don’t believe they need to be the best players as long as there are enough of them to have critical mass in the room. One or two bottom of the roster guys doesn’t create enough influence to matter. A handful of players sprinkled throughout the lineup does. This team’s biggest mistake over the last decade has been the decision to cheap out on leadership and depend on 1 or 2 leaders, generally bottom of the lineup role players. ROR may have been the only exception.

Ok the data someone else posted used a more reasonable end of the year sample size than 12 games, lol.

I’m not Brawndo fast, but you have slow fingers.

I just want him to use his body “a little bit”. He’s damned good considering his age. He’s gotta start engaging at closer than stick distances though.

The flaw in your counterpoint is, there was no finish with a flourish in 22-23. Someone here already did the work to disprove that.

After 13 seasons I feel like TPegs stole the Sabres from me. -
If I remember correctly, he did some sports for a small station.

Nah. That looked like a pic of my 26yr old son, who is def not a professional athlete. He just doesn’t have the committed gym rat physique. LOL at you of all people calling out internet outrage culture.
-
That kid looks like he needs to hit the gym. Maybe its an unflattering picture, but he sure as hell doesn’t look like a professional athlete there.

He had a couple. Hoss was one.

I agree with all this generally. Look no further than our Zemgus Girgensons for what to expect from that part of the first round. The guys selected in this range are not often top 6 players. I don’t really have an issue with signing him to be a bottom of the lineup player. He is NHL level at that role, but its JAG level. Jost and Robinson, or a hair above, are where he is going to live in his career. As long as his contract reflects that, each team has those guys. Preference is definitely to package him to a team just starting their rebuild for a bottom 6 upgrade though.
-
He’s bottom 6. We all want the bottom 6 to look differently. Young, on a team that has too much youth. Skilled, but unlikely to crack the top 6 as he develops/matures. He’s the perfect candidate for a hockey trade.

Hard to say. The image is poorly framed.
