Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

We're already there. Team colors are way more important than actual policy beliefs or morals. We cut the cord from cable/satellite TV 8yrs ago. Consequently, I see almost no cable news. And since we live in an area that gets poor antenna reception from both Buffalo and Rochester, we get very little broadcast TV news as well. We took Easter Dinner to my grandmother today. She's 101 and still doing relatively well. She had Fox News on the TV when we got there. I think her day time caretaker is the Fox News person. Fox was on for the first 3hrs we were there until my brother in law asked if he could turn on the hockey game. Fox covered nothing but the Mueller Report for the entire 3 hrs. All Mueller Report, all the time. Holy crap. Talk about state propaganda. I'll need at least week to recover. -

That theory was talked about here and in print at the time. Then again, so was the theory that LaLa was prone to angry outbursts. -

Ultimately, the market will determine pricing so I'm not convinced that it would lead to inflationary pressures. And the simpler tax rate could be set at the equivalent of what most corporations see now. The data is certainly there to calculate it. -
Seems rhetorical.

I love that Columbus went all in. Screw the losing first to try to win. Go all in on the win and see where it goes.....

No, I think you've inferred it over multiple posts over the years. He's not the only one with a narrative. -
Getting this thread on topic..... Found an interesting read that tries to explain the success of teams like Boston, especially in the playoffs. It's written about the playoffs, but I didn't want to put it in the playoff thread because that seems to be mostly game conversation. Anywho, the premise is, chippy play is a strategy not intended for intimidation, but to take advantage of special teams success. Yes, taking penalties to win, because you're also getting your opponent to take penalties and if your special teams overall are better than your opponents you will win on the back of special teams goal differential. Interesting to note that the author feels that this is Tampa's strategy as well. Don't know how accuratte it is, but the premise is quite interesting. http://faceoffcircle.ca/2019/04/15/how-teams-can-exploit-the-special-teams-social-construct-in-hockey/

I think you inferred it. You're not alone, but neither is the other side. -

The link I posted touches on that. In theory, the US has the highest corporate tax rate in the world, but there are so may exeptions that the real tax rate is much, much lower. In some of those examples very profitable corporations were qualifying for refunds. There is the real fourth estate. -

I don't remember who it was, or if they were ever identified by name. It was someone in the inner circle obviously as they had access to CIC desk. It was a deal maybe halfway through year one. -
The guilt would have to be overwhelming. I imagine there would be criminal charges coming.

I would not use the word deplorable. People near to me support Trump. I don't find them deplorable. I wouldn't think supporters of President Trump would find Trumpian any more offensive than Reagan supporters found Reaganite offensive. As for mid level bureaucrat, think whoever it was that was taking paperwork off Trump's desk so he couldn't sign it. Cries of deep state when the real deep state is the power pulling the strings. -
Really hate to see that KO at the end.

Here is a fun one on tax day. Twice as many coporations paying zero income taxes under the Trump tax plan Some of the noteworthy names include Amazon, Netflix, Chevron, Eli Lilly, John Deere. John Deere reported $2.15B in income and global profits of $2.37B this year and is claiming a $268M refund. Amazon had $10.8B in US income and is claiming a $129M rebate. IBM, $500M in US income, $8.7B in global profits, $342M refund. If Trump and Trumpians were really worried about the deep state they'd be worried about corporate America pulling the government's strings, not some mid level bureaucrat. -
Man, I LOVED seeing Kane agressively wade back in to that fight. We need some of that attitude.

I think the same is true of prospects as well. I can't get overly excited when I'm nowhere near qualified to make a judgement about them.

It's always been about esprit de corps. And to think we were laughing about where they were compared to where we were a couple seasons ago.

That's about where I am at. Then again, I'm numb enough that this team doesn't rise any kind of emotion anymore, good or bad.
