Wasn’t it Stamkos that said it’s an 85% league? I think the top half of the rest of the league is playing at 100% right now.

I think those 3 supplement what KO brings very well, but there is a reason KA and DG speak with so much reverence towards KO. He has a perspective and respect that only time, talent, and mindset can bring. Th e 3 you mention may have that perspective, respect, and mindset eventually. But not yet.

I hope KO retires. Not because I think we’ll be better with someone else in that roster spot, we won’t. I hope he retires simply because every time he takes a good jolt, or ends up in a scrum, I fear for his safety. I think there will be a measurable effect on losing his leadership. I Hope someone steps up, or we get some of that leadership replaced from the outside. Kyle’s role is incredibly valuable on and off the ice. His play may be replaceable, be the “stuff” that he brings along with his play is ***** hard to replace.

I don’t even understand how it is tone deaf. Nearly every parent has made that joke and got laughter. It was light hearted. MH doesnt get the benefit of the doubt because he spoke his mind when fans wanted the team to lose on purpose and they haven’t gotten over it.

IMO you play the better hand. Right now Vinny is the better hand. If he falters, he sits. VO hasn’t earned a spot over Vinny since hes been back.

It would be a travesty if VO played over Vinny. Vinny has outplayed VO since he’s been back in the lineup.

I think if both Z and Okie want to be back, they’re back. And deservedly so. They are still too effective to write off. I think Z and Greenway could be 2/3 of an awesome energy/checking line. And Okie can anchor a hell of a 4th lone with sheltered minutes for a couple of kids

I’m saying the math at the margins probably doesn’t support the players coming in being about playoffs this year, but KA wasnt going to risk a roadblock to the playoffs.

I suspect if the pipeline wasn’t already flush it would have been more of a priority. KA was purposely filtering who he would work with for cap space. He’s obviously hopeful that we might get into the playoffs because he ruled out making that sort of deal with anyone that might get in our way of making the playoffs, and anyone who we might potentially face in the playoffs. Good on him for acting like playoffs matter.

I certainly think its possible. I don’t think it is likely to make enough of a difference over what remains of the season. Regardless, a heroic run to 9th is a nice consolation prize for now. Next season…. Someone needs to feel some serious pressure for a playoff appearance. Period.

I’m sure KA feels the team is ready for these moves now, not last season. I’m not convinced it was for this season. How many additional games will Greenway win us instead of JJP? Or Hinostroza? I don’t think the marginal improvement moves the needle with this little season left. And I’m sure KA has considered this.

You could only hope a 2nd rd pick turns into a Greenway. Its like a 25% chance. We traded a 25% chance of a Greenway in 3-5 years for a fully developed Greenway now and for the next 2 seasons. Draft picks are over valued.
