  1. In the past they were censored. We’ve actually grown with “canceling “. Everyone has a voice if they have the stomach for the reaction.
  2. He was an underdog that was easy to root for. He showed some attitude with that Dahlin training camp hit that was woefully underrepresented in Buffalo. Would have been a nice story for Pekar to beat the odds and develop into an NHL player. Oh well.
  3. Don’t blame him on the numbers higher than 40. I hate them too. Hopefully he makes them shave their sideburns as well.
  4. I have no idea if you have the wrong guy, but what you are stating are two separate issues. I don’t think it is unfair to complain about ticket prices varying from day to day.
  5. Yes. Every action we take has repercussions. Some good, some bad.
  6. It’s almost like it’s been so long we don’t remember how its done.
  7. I think he might be correct regarding lizard people running the government.
  8. That was a Lehner-esque shootout performance. Yeesh.
  9. I know a couple of folks from Utica. Solidly in the Devils camp. Sabres fandom gets diluted just before Syracuse and really fades fast as you travel east. I know a couple of folks from Utica. 10. I’m not convinced that trade worked out for Vegas.
  11. In my experience Syracuse is pretty mixed. I wouldn’t assume Sabres loyalty much east of Rochester.
  12. Power is so different than Dahlin that it will be difficult to compare. I think Dahlin has more raw talent and will always be flashier. I think Power is headier, calmer, and his size with plenty of talent will result in a different kind of advantage. I could see Power’s game resulting in a James Patrick length career too.
  13. It’s not about fixing though. It’s about improving.
  14. Meant is there footage of what happened to Cozens
  15. Missed the game. Is there video of what happened?
  16. I just wanna know when the evening coughing and mucous is gonna end. Been since frickin Christmas.
  17. In the convenient single serving package.
  18. For too long I watched excellent but expensive players like Vanek, Pominville, etc get traded away from us for magic beans. I have no loyalty towards the magic beans we are now in possession of. Some of them will shine, some will not be all we hoped. Some will wither and die. I’d gladly consider a couple of our magic beans as partial payment towards a legit high end player that improves the team. No hesitation. $10M per year though. KA would have to have a solid plan regarding how to manage that impact. I suspect it would mandate that at least one of our decent non core players be moved for nothing immediate to accommodate Meier’s contract when Dahlin, Power, Cozens come due.
  19. 2006 had nothing to do with a lack of prospects. Given the age of our core 4, for the next several years we would be fine with 3 mid career vets on short contracts. It’s not like we’ve got an aging group with a short timeline for replacement. Thats not saying that I don’t want D men drafted. It’s just a statement that with our current core, I’m not worried about what isn’t on the farm today. If Power were anything but a 1 overall, we’d be talking about him as a prospect, not an NHLer. And Mule beat the normal timeline for 2nd round picks as well. We have the pool we’d have normally. They just graduated early.
  20. I think this is the totality of it. He’s a serviceable upgrade over the borderline NHL talent that was there previously. He’s veteran enough to have expectation regarding what is going to happen on the ice. He has sufficient talent to keep up with the game. He wasn’t considered a core player of an excellent Col team, and didn’t work well enough in Min to get playing time. Its hard to argue statistically that he’s a better player than Hinostroza. But he seems to fit better, which makes him more effective, for whatever reason. I like what we’ve gotten out of him to date, and certainly wouldn’t complain if he were resigned, but I still consider him one of the more replaceable players on the roster right now.
  21. I don’t see saving a roster spot for a once per week player being viable when this team is under expectations to win.
  22. I’m not sweating that at all given the age of our 4 core D.
  23. Baby steps. It’s late January and the season isn’t written off yet. Hopefully the games continue to matter.
