  1. We won. And thats all that matters. But they won’t get away with all the unforced turnovers against FL. Way, way too many intercepted passes and pucks sent to nowhere. That was living dangerously. Good thing Philly is a bad hockey team. I thought Looby and Stillman were pleasantly invisible for the most part. I also though Power and Joki struggled much of the game. Power needs to learn to use his body to separate pucks from skaters. He rarely makes contact and its gotten more noticeable as the games have gotten more intense.
  2. I’m assuming we will run a 3 headed monster next season. Regardless of how good Levi turns out to be, I am reluctant to believe he’d be ready for 40ish games next season. It will be Comrie, UPL, Levi in a rotation of some sort
  3. To the first part, yeah. A lot of declarations and determinations for a sample size of one behind a team that played uncharacteristically in front of him. There is nowhere but down from here LOL. To the second part, let’s hope we don’t reach a point where Levi is commenting on the fragile little kids when the games are meaningful again. We’ve seen that ending before…..
  4. Meh. Comrie would have had the shutout.
  5. Here we go. Hope this kid is ready to face alot of shots. Rags gonna put a lot of pucks on the net.
  6. Assume Stillman is a healthy scratch.
  7. So, what was clueless about Hamilton’s take?
  8. Gatekeeper!
  9. Fixed. And correct. Mmmmm…… rum.
  10. Maybe half.
  11. I don’t understand why Twitter blew up today. 😂
  12. It was hyperbole. Don’t be too honored.
  13. Ugh. Internet. Lets dial it back here. We have one poster that feels starting Levi is a sign that playoffs are second fiddle to the GM. We have a second poster who said “I’m not there yet “ but I can see where it is out of character for a GM that much more calculating than gambler, and it was prefaced by stating that this is said with no idea how Levi looked in practice. So, you’ve got one and maybe a half a poster that thinks this is a do not block the kid move. And pointing out that it is high risk- high reward in terms of winning the game falls way short of the terrified of Levi losing “because playoffs” threshold. So lets dial back the hyperbole, eh?
  14. Regarding the part you quoted me to reply, I conditioned every response with some version of “no data regarding how Levi has looked in practice”, so your “why can’t this be” was covered.
  15. And thats fine, obviously. But it is high risk. And if KA is judging a 2.8% chance as not worth pursuing, PA is absolutely correct.
  16. Noone is questioning the competence of the other 3 goalies. But they are known commodities. Levi is very much an unknown. It may be a simple coin toss whether a first time goalie is an improvement, or worse. Hell, the odds might not even be that good. Its most definitely a high risk position to choose the unknown if winning is important.
  17. The only reason I’m not fully there with you is, I have no idea how Levi has looked in practice. If (big if) KA had any priority or urgency tied to getting into the playoffs, this seems like a decision counter to that goal (again, with no knowledgeable of how Levi has looked in practice). It’s fairly high risk - high reward in terms of winning enough games to have a shot at the playoffs, and high risk - high reward is pretty counter to KAs strategy to date. So this certainly seems a “don’t block the kids” move, not “let’s prioritize getting into the playoffs”. Will be interesting to see if Levi had the stuff to make the reason behind the decision irrelevant.
  18. I’ve been through the Crosby rookie year roster several times when making my point that the biggest failure on tanking was not giving Jack and Sam a significant veteran presence. Crosby walked into a room with Malkin already there, but more importantly that team was stacked with vets who were stars or near stars in their prime. There were a bunch of been there, done that surrounding Sid. Yes, they were has beens, but the veteran lessons would have been substantial. I can’t speak to the Hawks, Lighting or Avs, and don’t really care enough to dig in to be honest. But Ovie was already considered an old man and had a veteran cast with him when the Caps really started humming.
  19. Tp be fair, it doesn’t seem to be a forum-wide culture, but yeah.
  20. Although…. How much good information is DG getting from practice with these goalies?
  21. The influence of corporations and cults won’t allow for this nation to reach its promise. They are both way too self serving to ever allow it. Our biggest failure is not outright rioting when allowing them to participate was considered at all. Add in the more than occasional criminal in sheep's clothing and it is inevitable that we won’t achieve all that we should be able to achieve.
  22. Lots of speculation about Edwards. After Ted Darlings rapid decent, I wont speculate.
