  1. That has some serious hard to play against vibes, and still allows for a fair amount of fire wagon hockey.
  2. You can’t even get it write for other teams’ games. LOL
  3. It would be interesting to get inside Krebs head regarding this. He had to surmise that with Tage and Cozens he’s a 3rd line center at best. Add in the Mitts wildcard and….. You have to know that bottom 6 isn’t what he aspired to. Does he have the confidence to go somewhere else and beat someone else for a top 6 role, or does he like the situation here and be happy with a needed role on a team that appears headed upward? Personally, I think if he chases a top 6 role he’ll be disappointed.
  4. With the current state of the team, I actually find anything they might offer to likely be uninteresting. They aren’t going to lay out a plan for us, at least not in the kind of detail we’d want. They aren’t going to identify players they will move on from. I doubt they even suggest positions that are expected to be upgraded. Really, with absolutely no end of season drama, I’m expecting about 1 hr of platitudes we expect, and very little if any meat. It’ll be toast. Without Miss Emma’s marmalade.
  5. Yeah, it is waaayyyyyy too soon to proclaim the goalie problem solved.

    Toast

    This smells truthy.
  7. If Krebs is moved to fill a hole elsewhere, it is probably not because their mind was made up on him too early. You gotta give to get. If Krebs is moved to fill a hole elsewhere, it is probably not because their mind was made up on him too early. You gotta give to get.

Devon Levi is the maillard reaction we need. Unplug the toaster before sticking a knife in there.
  9. It’s not a double standard for 3 kids who lack NHL experience. At least not for me. I perceive a difference in skill levels and ceiling. Quinn has 1st line talent. I’d say JJ is next in terms of talent and dynamic play, but he’s closer to Krebs than Quinn. When I agreed with SDSs post, it was to acknowledge that Krebs right now is 3rd out of the 3 kids, and there are quite likely 2 more kids with more talent and dynamic play that are breathing down Krebs neck. That isn’t criticism of Krebs game. Its just one fan’s analysis of the pecking order. If he differentiates himself from the others with 2 way play and a more bottom 6 related game and carves a niche here, I’m all for it. But those guys are easier to find and makes his spot on the roster more tenuous.
  10. He has the kind of skating that keeps a player relevant well past the careers of most. As lo g as he doesn’t succumb to lower body injuries I think he’ll be able to play ad long as he is willing to adapt his game.
  11. I would be genuinely shocked if it turned out any other way.
  12. Apparently I don’t contribute anything, so you set the bar low.
  13. I think this is stated more harshly than I would state it, but I can’t really disagree with it either. Of the young forwards we have, he is probably most at risk of being supplanted.
  14. I suspect I have a higher opinion of Stillman than most. I really like what I’ve seen of him. Really solid under the radar pick up IMO.
  15. Yesterday I mentioned that Mitts may be the Sharpe we thought Sam might become. Not sure which thread. So we had the same line of thought
  16. Hasn’t he scored every time he’s been back into the lineup after a break? Seems like he needs the reset.
  17. Have you guys seen this lineup? Looks like the last preseason game.
  18. I think Power was as impressive, but in a different way. He was so smooth and steady, whereas Dahlin was chaos. I can imagine these two in a couple years being out together in the late stages of a game that matters, just dominating the ice in different ways.
  19. I’m assuming they promised the kid X number of games.
  20. My memory is Darcy tried, but the league told him that Connolly and (don’t remember) had to play before season end to qualify for the playoffs.
  21. Pay alot to long term him now, or alot more to long term him later. The only question is, is he confident enough in his bargaining power to drive a bigger number than the recent long terms guys.
  22. Last offseason it genuinely concerned me that Johnson wouldn’t sign. This season? After adding Power, Boosh, and Stillman, I’m not convinced there is room for him. The only emotion I’ll show for Johnson is the rooting against him I’ll do because he didn’t sign. And I won’t spend much emotion doing even that.
  23. It’s a marriage, both in commitment and range of emotions.
  24. Mixed feelings about the overall grade and KAs grade. I feel like something was left on the table, and it wasn’t necessary. Is failure to make the playoffs in a year where the team overall was good enough weighing more than the progress shown? I’m vacillating. No grade for now just because I can’t commit. Definitely more positive of Granatos grade. Not only did the young guys all make big steps, in the last 1/4 of the season he showed me he is capable of changing gameplans and adjusting to changes in play as playoff’s approach. I’m way more comfortable with Donnie than I was in October. B+ MVP is Dahlin, but its closer than expected. Tuch has votes. So does Tage. ROY is Quinn. Power will be the better player, but I don’t think he was the better rookie. MIP is def Mitts. Mitts might just be the Patrick Sharpe that Sam never quite took hold of. Unsung is Mule by a mile. The record with and without tells the story. Anderson gets second place. Only because of games played.
