  1. Well that was ugly, we started great but seemed to lose steam as the game went on. Eichel became rather perturbed as the game went on in the 3rd until he finally seemed to hit point where he just stopped after the 6th goal. Can't blame him, he played well most of the game. Reinhart was garbage after period one, he was directly responsible for the SHG in both a bad pass into the zone and then a dub pass to Giroux. Skinner is cold after hitting 20. The defense finally hit its breaking point, 3 D down. Tennyson was a trainwreck to put it lightly. Eichel tried to aid him once and they scored due to it, then he later played weak on I think the 5th goal. Baloo was lost without a stable partner and reverted to bad Baloo form. Mitts had a good start but seemed to wear down after the myriad of missed calls against him. He was hacked/slashed/tripped/hooked etc in the 1st and some of the 2nd. Bogo is good offensively but plays the puck like a live grenade in his own zone half the time. After goal 4 you could tell things started breaking down, more so on the back end as our better dmen became worn and the Flyers victimized our 3rd pairing. I hope to see this game be another turning point in the season, akin to the SJS game we were butchered in that set us off on a great stretch of games.
  2. Eichel has beat Matthews pretty much just as often. They seem to alternate game to game when they both face off. Also McDavid would of been picked ahead of Matthews as well so it really isn't apples to apples on draft spot. At times I'd actually say I fear Marner more than Matthews because he's shifty and also a great passer.
  3. Its strange how Pilut and Risto as a pair actually seem to work extremely well together.
  4. Not really, just a different threat. Eichel has a great shot and great passing skills thus while not as scary of a shooter he also brings the fear of passing it.
  5. Don't really see that at all; Matthews is a great player and as is Eichel. Matthews is more a goal scorer while Eichel is more a play maker. Both wouldn't be considered handsome by many.
  6. Matthews and the Leafs can burn in hell. Why didn't Sobotka just stand up Matthews there; no reason not to take a penalty at that point. Great game by the Sabres though, they deserved to win the OT by far. Leafs got a lucky bounce on the tying goal and Matthews "caught" the puck on his goal and shouldn't of counted.
  7. I think my proposal would be the only way Botts would be interested in a rental. Essentially a player swap that helps us in long term contract stuff or the like.
  8. I had a good conversation with a couple Pens fans on HF about Sobotka(500k retained) and TORs 6th for Brassard and they felt it was interesting. I’d imagine giving them our 3rd/4th (which they hold rights to one of already technically) instead of the 6th would probably make a bit more sense though. Its cap neutral thus working for both sides. But it’s hard to gauge if it’s Pens fans being sick of Brassard or actually being interested in Sobotka.
  9. 3 Ls but at very least 2 of the 3 were very good games still. They are still probably a just above middle team. 6th/7th in Conference. Eichel had good and bad tonight but can't seem to catch a break with shots.
  10. They gave no evidence or reason. It struck me as, Buffalo is a small market and the owner is alright but we need to drop their average a bit.
  11. NS, I also loved Meier but because I saw potential from his WJC play.
  12. The idea we have bad owners and a bad market strikes me as nothing more than frivolous mudslinging. The Pegulas may not be the best in the league but they are certainly better than at least half of the league’s other owners. Let me guess, Toronto is #1
  13. Good job Randall, not exactly sure why Eichel won't shoot but his effort has improved tenfold this year. Actually in the past two games he's been throwing his body around a bit. And I can't blame him for the OT goal to be honest; if he chases him Barkov is open, he ended up kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place since the other two Sabres practically ran into one another and he was trying to deter Huberdeou from driving the net. Otherwise the grades are spot on, a tad worried about the team's analytical statistics however outside Eichel + his two wingers.
  14. Dahlin was matches with Karlsson on his last shift and made both a great defensive dive play and effectively set up Skinner for the winner. 10 we want 11
  15. Girgs is probably just worn out at this point from these past few games and needs a well deserved rest. Elie needs to score tonight so all dressed Sabres this year thus far will have a goal
  16. Rather Nylander in Toronto than Parayko
  17. Dahlin had a rough game, but found his way as the game went on. That Forsberg reverse hit in the 1st though was a thing of beauty!
  18. Well, that was one hell of a game! They killed that 5 on 3 and Hutton made that great save; then we seemed to switch gears and preceded to steamroll the Penguins for 95% of the rest of the game
  19. If anything we should be merely throwing names out we might want to look at. So far so good but I’m not buying rentals for a 1 round and out 2nd WC team
  20. I’d rather wait and sign 35yr old Kane, to a 1 year deal as a vet scorer coming home. Otherwise no thanks
  21. Never say die, the Sabres refuse to go down without a fight. We saw a little of this comeback kids last year but they are getting over the hump now. We won!!! Woohooo
  22. The Sabres are cockroaches, we get stomped on and bloodied yet somehow stay in the game and come out the other side with a win!
