  1. I had actually wanted Leddy so that sucks, I want a vet Dman
  2. If Philly offered Nolan Patrick + a 2nd/3rd for Risto would you take it? I would imagine most would say yes because they want Risto gone but how would you judge the trade?
  3. Chad’s input would point to a team with 3 D already protected.
  4. That random dude in blue that blunts the fall a bit. That's Granato 🙂
  5. Don't even allude to such a horrid idea
  6. I disagree there, the Sabres are a joke but there are plenty of other joke franchises in pro sports that even make us look good.
  7. Just imagine what would happen if Buffalo got a 1st+ for Risto; the heads on the HF boards and CapFriendly would literally explode.
  8. I'm guessing some GMs ignore the analytics and merely see a physically gifted offensive defenseman and Adams and company are playing off that.
  9. In my opinion for Eichel MIN would likely need to give us both Rossi and Boldy due to neither of them being considered sure thing 1Cs. Primarily due to neither of their 1sts being all that appealing. From there I would take on some salary. Either Zuccurello at 3x6mil if need be or some combination of lesser cap hits like Rask. I’d be curious if we sent them Tage Thompson in the deal as a side piece due to his contract being handy with their whole 14mil in dead cap in 23-24 and 24-25
  10. I hope that his shot block of Eichel wasn't the start for all of this 😞 This would be a really sad way to go out.
  11. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2555282 Here's a team I thought of based on MIN's fan trade + Zucc for money purposes.
  12. Send them back their 3rd?
  13. What does tear your team apart even entail? If we got Boldy, Rossi, Zuccurello and their 2 1sts this year would that be considered tearing their team apart? After all that would literally only be 1 roster player and a guy who played briefly this year for them.
  14. He already sold his house here in Buffalo.
  15. I believe they closed that loophole this past offseason.
  16. I'd be interested in Suter but I doubt he'd come here. He still has a couple years left in him.
  17. Not as a top pair guy but to just sit him on the 3rd pair and mentor kids. That’s be solid. But again, that would be for a 5th at most and I’d be more inclined to acquire him as a cap dump
  18. Honestly I can understand the idea, acquire a guy with a wealth of experience on the cheap. However, Keith somehow garnered a solid prospect and a 3rd while having no salary retained. Personally I would offered a 5th depending on what our D looked like after the draft and trades but to give up 2 alright assets is bonkers.
  19. June 23 2018, Buffalo traded their 2018 6th to Toronto for a 2019 6th. One of the oddest trades I have ever seen.
  20. What shocks me is they got value for Keith without even retaining anything.
  21. How do you guys see this scenario https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2546177 Eichel for 2 1sts (the 2nd has conditions) Hague, Tuch, Krebs and Smith Schmidt had a down year but is an overall good Dman with an upbeat and positive demeanor. Ladd is buried with the choice of working something front office related. We grab Cernak & Johnson for Bryson, Smith(50%), BOS's 2nd and MTL's 5th Dvorak is acquired for VGK's 1st and Olofsson Our D group look like Dahlin - Cernak Schmidt - Jokiharju Hague - Borgen Del Zotto
  22. How's this Eichel to Vegas for Tuch, Krebs, Hague, Smith and their 2021 & 2022 1st Trade the 2021 1st for Dvorak and Smith(50%) for a 2nd and a 4th in different years.
  23. It's all in the delivery and over arcing narrative. Ralph was an inspirational speaker and very macro in his way of operating. He was all about playing to the system, regardless of the player, and believed that would work. However religiously following a specific system isn't effective when its flawed to begin with, but furthermore stunts dynamic play from more dynamic players. Last season all he said was that the team needed to stick to the system for there to be success; the further we went without success, the less the players felt confident in said system. Ralph certainly had the team playing for him for a time; they were "willing to run through walls for him" That changed over time however as he effectively ran them at concrete slabs instead of drywall. Granato seems to have some similarities with Krueger in speech pattern but is much more direct and less grandiose in his demeanor. How he speaks is that he wants a loose system but primarily wants the players to use their instincts and play. Instead of demanding the team to normalize their talents to best suit the system's will; Granato seems more keen on encouraging the players learn from one another and play to their strengths. Krueger wanted most of the team to be generic players with Eichel/Hall doing the fancy stuff. Granato is more about letting the players who can deke, deke but with the caveat they don't overplay their hand. Plus, you won't be benched for trying something new or making an honest mistake. He'll bench you for refusing to adapt or ignoring situation as a whole but is far more likely to hand wave away minor errors for the sake of learning.
  24. Oh, don't worry; I certainly know ownership has been garbage the past decade in a myriad of ways. I just will rarely side with a player over anything in this regard. You get paid a ton to play a game in a specific location; barring physical or mental harm you should hold your side of the deal regardless of what ownership does. The Pegulas after all do want to win, they are just incompetent.
  25. Don't really care about the owners either; I care about myself and fellow fans like myself. We want our team to be great and our team to win and anything that gets in the way of that is a negative.
