  1. Not anymore I've seen his contract and found out a bit more about his time in Columbus to know I want him as far away from our team as possible.
  2. If its family related I could certainly see that, especially if he is needed back in Sweden. He could void his contract, go overseas and have the Sabres hire him as a part-time scout or something like that. That being said its hard to tell if this was an amicable separation or both sides were merely being as professional as they could.
  3. Would you take Bozak and a 4th for Berglund? the 4th is for this snafu on StL sending us a player who doesn’t want to play
  4. Here's a couple random ideas: Berglund for Anisimov and Scandella + Ellie for Boyle and Lovejoy (Vet help but also evens out our depth on defense a bit and 2 1 year contracts)
  5. Oh its more just a plus than anything specific. I like my depth centers to have as much versatility as possible.
  6. I'd do Artem Anisimov for Berglund straight up He makes about 700k more but is under contract one fewer year. Plus he was Kane and Panarin's center in Chicago a couple years ago so he has experience with skilled players.
  7. 1. The Sabres took their foot off the gas and couldn't get their engine running again. 2. Every bounce possible went Florida's way. The Brouwer goal, the Penalty Shot goal, we'd have chances that the puck would just seemingly skip at the last moment.... We have to play better but it seemed as things piled up the team got rather frustrated by how nothing seemed to work. Florida is a curse for us for no known reason
  8. Marcus Johansson, any interest if we can use Sobotka or Berglund in some way to get him. (Granted Berglund may not be a problem soon anyway)
  9. Yet somehow he was still a -3 with a big influence on at least one of them at minimum
  10. Disappointed with a loss but not really angry. They traded punches with the defending champions the whole game while short a Dman and a half. Hopefully tomorrow we see Dahlin - Bogo Pilut - Risto Hunwick - Scandella Eichel played great and should of drawn a penalty in the OT, they had sticks all over him. Still 2 goals ain't shabby at all! Reinhart, you have to hit that!!!!! Dahlin quietly put up 3 points without any of the Sabres telecast noticing lol
  11. If I had to guess, I'd say Arizona or Dallas would be my likely candidates.
  12. On the Tarasenko front, I'd use their 1st to strong arm them into a cheaper price. After all, do you really think St. Louis wants to run into Ottawa's predicament?
  13. I actually wouldn't be willing to part with so many assets and I doubt they'd want Okposo
  14. Klefbom out for weeks, not days, according to TSN
  15. I have a quick theory on Eichel: If it is true he shortened his stick to some small degree that would account for three effects 1. He has to readjust his shot and thus his goal scoring was down. He's shooting but his accuracy is down. Now he's beginning to get used to it. 2. He's a tad shiftier than the last three years. His long stick gave him fits with trying many dekes due to it getting caught on everything in the area. We've seen him look less awkward when doing stick tricks. 3. He's playing the body a bit more on defense and back checking a bit harder since he can't just reach half way across the rink to try and poke it away. I think he's worked on D for a myriad of reasons as well, but this may at least have a small unconscious effect
  16. Supposedly SJS is potentially looking for a 4C to trade for (Sobotka anyone ? ) Klefbom will be out, in the weeks timetable, I wonder if there is anything we could work out with them seeing as with Hunwick back we'd have a bit of an overload on LDs and I want to keep Pilut in Buffalo.
  17. Any interest in Jeff Carter? I would, but only in very specific terms such as a low cost (no 1sts) they take Sobotka, and he’s mature now. He’d work as a 2nd center for this year and still has quite the shot. But his age is definitely a turn off
  18. Anyone have any idea where the Tarasenko to Sabres rumor originated? I saw some discussion on Twitter yet can't seem to find anything, even untrustworthy, that would of even began that conversation.
  19. I wonder if we could get Derek Stepan from Arizona with the SJS 1st, Guhle and Okposo?
  20. I wonder what Toffoli and Anisimov would cost. Their charts aren't half bad and I've always liked Toffoli.
  21. Well that was ugly, we started great but seemed to lose steam as the game went on. Eichel became rather perturbed as the game went on in the 3rd until he finally seemed to hit point where he just stopped after the 6th goal. Can't blame him, he played well most of the game. Reinhart was garbage after period one, he was directly responsible for the SHG in both a bad pass into the zone and then a dub pass to Giroux. Skinner is cold after hitting 20. The defense finally hit its breaking point, 3 D down. Tennyson was a trainwreck to put it lightly. Eichel tried to aid him once and they scored due to it, then he later played weak on I think the 5th goal. Baloo was lost without a stable partner and reverted to bad Baloo form. Mitts had a good start but seemed to wear down after the myriad of missed calls against him. He was hacked/slashed/tripped/hooked etc in the 1st and some of the 2nd. Bogo is good offensively but plays the puck like a live grenade in his own zone half the time. After goal 4 you could tell things started breaking down, more so on the back end as our better dmen became worn and the Flyers victimized our 3rd pairing. I hope to see this game be another turning point in the season, akin to the SJS game we were butchered in that set us off on a great stretch of games.
  22. Eichel has beat Matthews pretty much just as often. They seem to alternate game to game when they both face off. Also McDavid would of been picked ahead of Matthews as well so it really isn't apples to apples on draft spot. At times I'd actually say I fear Marner more than Matthews because he's shifty and also a great passer.
  23. Its strange how Pilut and Risto as a pair actually seem to work extremely well together.
  24. Not really, just a different threat. Eichel has a great shot and great passing skills thus while not as scary of a shooter he also brings the fear of passing it.
