More Alleged Lowlife Behavior by Evander Kane
thewookie1 replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
To be honest it may have more to do with us already having a bias against EK whereas for Buffalo people, PK is an idol to kids and thus receives more benefit of the doubt. EK and PK both had rough off-ice problems but EK had a more direct impact on the Sabres and continues to meander into trouble while PK seems to have turned his life around. The race issue is overblown and tends to hold little water when looked into. Racism certainly exists but I completely disagree that it is an inherent part of all criticisms of black people. -

Song even fits the team; sort of a chaotic yet triumphant tune. -
If he weren't a Leaf, I very well might. The major problem I'd see is our team's size and center depth. We'd have a myriad of small players of varying skill but little grit or size.
-
If they want Olofsson for Marner, sure 🙂 That is very true
-
In zero games. He's perfect 🙂
-
It also comes down to player type, position and the fact I'd never trade Eichel to the Leafs. Eichel goes out west and that's where I'll stand forever.
-
No, because I don't see Marner as better than Eichel. He's soft and rarely performs in the playoffs.
-
Dahlin certainly has an aggressive side to him but I'm guessing his face injury and frequent penalties have kept him somewhat meek as the season has been going thus far. Plus from a physical side he's stuck as the defensive guy when paired with Butcher.

As I told one of my work buddies; this is what happens when a team with high end effort and energy with little finishing ability plays while tired. We couldn't break NJ since our players were gassed the entire 2nd and 3rd for the most part. Thanks to Toker though we still got a point and that's a plus. Our next back to back is Nov 12th and 13th versus Edmonton and Toronto respectively. I'd suggest using all 3 extra roster slots to get 2 fresher forwards and 1 fresh dman in for the 2nd game. Still proud of the team though, they never quit but you could just tell they had nothing left to give.

Based on what we have learned the surgery isn't universally approved in this circumstance. Many doctors agree with the Sabres approach, even Eichel's own original 2nd opinion did. It will always seem unusual to me however that Eichel wanted the surgery immediately after the injury occurred. It has never sat right with me, logically, as to why he wanted to literally have a spinal disk replaced within a week of it getting herniated; seeming to only begrudgingly try a non-surgical rehab after a drawn out fight with the Sabres. I can understand how pain sucks and that fusion surgeries aren't always great in their own right but I honestly see it as unusual that a 24 year old would want to forever alter his spine immediately after it happened. Scenarios I've concocted that could be possible: 1. The surgery demands were meant to get him traded quickly but he underestimated KA's willingness to play hard ball 2. The doctor who would operate on Eichel is trying to use Eichel for some sort of self-gain; and Eichel is none the wiser 3. Eichel started the season with a herniated disk, not a shoulder injury, tried to rehab without alerting the team doctors and then ended up damaging it more in the Isles game. Hence the urge to immediately operate on it as to him it had already been (6 weeks?) I'd imagine hiding a herniated disk isn't exactly easy but with enough pain tolerance and complaints of shoulder pain being the cause; the Sabres doctors wouldn't be really to blame. 4. Eichel is weird, as in he wanted artificial parts in his body for no discernable reason and was just wanting a more legitimate excuse.

Marchand needs to to take a long walk off a short pier -

We may have lacked the finish required to win tonight but I applaud how they never stopped. Another solid 3 periods and against teams with less defensive structure that will certainly equate to a few more goals. -

Tier 1 Assets: 2022 1st (Top 2 Protected), Drysdale, *(2023 1st (Top 2 Protected))* Tier 2 Assets: Perrault *2023 2nd* Tier 4 Assets/Cap Dumps Henrique The 2023 2nd would have some type of conditions on it related to Eichel's play. If Eichel bounces back fully, the Sabres get 3 Tier 1 assets that cannot be 1st or 2nd Overall in 2022/23, and a Tier 2 Asset along with taking on Henrique's contract. If Eichel takes more time to get back Buffalo gets two Tier 1 pieces, again that can't be 1st/2nd Overall, two Tier 2 pieces along with taking on Henrique's contract. Its akin to potentially getting 4 1sts for Eichel and taking on a 3x6+ mil contract. I don't see that as unfair in the slightest.

Drysdale, Perrault, Henrique, Top 2 Protected 1st and a 2nd that becomes a Top 2 Protected 1st in 2023. I'd be ok with that.

Who’s Johnson and I have little interest in Drysdale because we need a center.

Hagg is a lot like Risto, but not an offensive player. But on the positive he doesn't just throw the puck up the boards at the sight of an opposing player lol. -

Sounds like a bad horror film Multi-Grain Whale -
Perhaps they planned to flip Hague to LA for Turcotte?

If they are willing to let Eichel have the ADR then I would imagine they would feel the likelihood of a full recovery. Let's put numbers on it I'd say Eichel has a 60% chance of coming back at 100% About 15% chance he's a 2C, 5% of complete failure and 20% chance he comes back lesser than before but still a 1C. Those odds are still better than Krebs has at reaching Eichel. If Krebs has a 35 to 50% chance of being a lesser 1C and Eichel has a 60% chance to be a great 1C and a combined 80% of being the same if not better would that not be in your favor?
-
I don’t honestly see Krebs ever reaching Eichel’s level. In the end we are stuck in an endless logical loop. 1. Team says they’d let Eichel have ADR. Offer .50 on the dollar. 2. Sabres decline because if the team didn’t believe the surgery would return him to 1C abilities then they wouldn’t of accepted the surgery to begin with. Counters at $1 on the dollar. 3. Team declines saying that they are taking the risk of the surgery so there should be a discount. Continues to offer .50 on the dollar. 4. Buffalo declines saying much like the first iteration, if they feel the risk is that great then why make the trade to begin with. However the Sabres do offer an olive branch at .85 on the dollar. 5. Team continues to harp on risk and contract but raises offer slightly to .60 on the dollar. 6. Sabres counter at .75 and state this is the lowest they’ll go. 7. Team declines thus Buffalo stops general discussions. 8. Time passes and the other team sends another .50 offer and the cycle repeats.
