  1. Kevin Weekes was very against this glove shrinking because he said that last time they did something similar it caused ruptured tendons for himself, Brodeur and Kolzig
  2. Clears a contract and helps with our logjam in Rochester
  3. Risto's celebration was him shooting a gun...... he sniped the the goal on Price so he was doing the sniper celebration.
  4. I would certainly take JQ here, but I doubt that will happen.
  5. Worst part is we have played a good game thus far, for the most part, yet are losing still.
  6. I want Erod back in the line up most definitely Skinner - Eichel - Pommers Erod - Mitts - Okposo (Worked well on the West coast trip so I'm confused why we separated them) Sheary - Sobotka - Reinhart (Again played alright on the western trip) (I have never seen Mitts and Reinhart work all that well together) Girgs - Berglund - Larsson McCabe - Risto Scandella - Bogo Dahlin - Nelson I'd love to see Pilut soon to edge out Nelson
  7. He had been on the ice over 2 of the past 2.5 minutes at that point and got 2 assists
  8. They sure as hell better run Ottawa out of Buffalo on Saturday! They were piss poor in the 1st and 2nd and in the 3rd suddenly decided to impose their will on Ottawa and dominated. Do that for a full 3 periods next time!
  9. Can someone wake up the 2nd and 3rd lines and teach the 4th line how to score? We are the Eichel, Skinner and Pominville show thus far for the 2nd straight game.
  10. The rest of the team is in blue helmets, remember many of the European leagues have the leading point getter wear a gold helmet to stand out to the crowd.
  11. If EDM were to offer us RNH for Risto, would you do it? I honestly have slowly been coming around to that. I’ve always been a huge Risto proponent but I’ve more recently begun to notice some of the boneheaded things he does in the Dzone after seeing how Dahlin already plays. Granted I would like to see Pilut in Buffalo for a few games before I’d do anything. in the end I would want a hockey trade for Risto, no more picks and parts.
  12. Quick out indefinitely with a torn meniscus
  13. I can't blame Eichel, he was literally one of the few players that seemed to be trying most of the game. It was the 1st and 4th lines that played alright, the middle 6 need to be switched back.
  14. Still not really interested in trading Risto, especially to a divisional rival. As I said before in the off-season, I’d want a trade akin to Draisital for Risto. He’s a 24 year old gritty RHD who can play well on the PP, has above average skating ability, and still has a long career ahead of him.
  15. I'm disappointed we lost but feel even more reassured that the team is different. In the past they would of folded up their tents at the end of 2 and been easily swatted away by CBJ during the 3rd. Instead we tied it back up, had opportunities to score in 3rd to take the lead and just fell short on a sniper shot by Panarin. We got another point in the standings, EVERY POINT COUNTS!!!!!
  16. Once I read how he said MTL just had an off night and saw he was a TSN reporter I just went, he's not trustworthy
  17. Something I wonder, to add to LTS's point, is if ROR was too brutally honest and potentially nitpicky. When you are a bad team, having trouble winning, the last thing you need is someone continuously bickering about everything you do. For all we know ROR's suggestions and critiques may of put more than a few players into a state of over-analysis of their play and thus making them play really slow. His comment about losing his love for the game made me curious if that is how he usually talks and that his scripted post-game comments were exactly that, scripted. While a great player, he may have constantly been looking to make everyone else more like him, and some players will never be able to play that way regardless of how hard they try. So I believe his presence in the locker room likely soured over the years. If you are having a rough time, would you really want to be told about it every morning when you go to practice? So while we don't want the players to live in a bubble, we also don't want to subject them to torture. Think of this scenario, we lose 4 or 5 straight then get a lucky win. In theory if ROR continued to harp they were lucky and lost their last 4/5, other players might become either angry, lose their hope, or at minimum lose the good feelings from a win. In the end a win is a win, regardless if it was lucky or not. What you want to do is ride that wave while improving along the way; critique is good but not if it literally sucks the life out of everything. I think that might be part of the problem Flagg ends up with on the board; analytics are a great tool and very eye opening. However, being reminded about how bad we are over and over again can get on people's nerves. So what if ROR was Flagg on steroids? Nothing against you Flagg, you may not always be the most optimistic poster but you seem like a good guy and I do love reading your informative posts; but unlike a forum where I can choose to ignore negative things if I'm not up to dealing with reality in full; imagine being in a locker room where you can't? That's just what I'm thinking. I agree though with you Flagg, we didn't get enough for ROR on a player to player stand point.
  18. Great win! 3 comebacks and they never stopped going after Montreal after about the 10 min mark of the 1st. Amazingly Eichel had 0 points but was on the ice for 3 of 4 goals.
  19. I also think he may like the acquisitions of Sheary and Skinner as they give him something to use on his left side. Eichel seems to have more trust in Skinner than he had in Kane to not throw the puck at the net aimlessly.
  20. Great comeback, and Berglund had been out there over a minute at that point
  21. Probably my biggest gripe about yesterday, besides that PK, Risto should of been played sparingly
  22. Regardless of rather or not yours or Eleven's information is true, most fans don't exactly care or have any interest in how other teams fair. Most of us Sabres fans are constantly being harassed by other teams' fans elsewhere on the internet thus even though your argument may be very sound; no one really wants to hear it. You, of all people, should know how toxic the HFboards are against the Sabres. We are constantly put down, and stepped on by everyone thus we tend to be a little defensive of our star players. JJ, there is nothing wrong with liking two teams; that being said it may not be wise to hype your Panthers here seeing as they are division rivals and most of us would rather watch them crash and burn for that fact alone. To be perfectly honest, if every team, but Buffalo, could get a non-lethal illness that only lasted one full season and that helped us win a Cup I'd be happy. Then I could actually not feel angered by the other 30 teams, when they have success.
  23. Quick question, who else heard "Rock n roll part 2" in the 3rd period? I thought the NHL banned that song, guess Vegas doesn't care lol For those who don't know, this song.....
  24. Sabres played well in the 2nd, a bounce never goes our way and that seems to really discourage the team as the game wears on. Skinner and Mitts hit posts on grand plays and Mitts made an all star pass to Okposo and he failed to score on it...... Jack wore out by the end, he was flying most of the game but seemed to peter out as his minutes per shift increased. Risto needs Scandella to play a lot better, Risto is supposed to be the offensive guy not the defensive stalwart. Dahlin had his ups and downs. Housely needs to fix the PP, it is not only killing us in the not scoring department but also seems to be wearing on the players' minds
