  1. Hate losing but this team certainly looks like they have some moxie and nothing intimidates them. Now on to the West Canada trip; let’s beat up Canada again.
  2. He’d been on the ice for 1:30 already
  3. Tage needs to relax a bit, Power will take time to get going, Dahlin looks great besides the occasional blind pass to ghosts
  4. I’m putting the split PPs at 5 games. Eventually we’ll return to something akin to Thompson-Cozens-Olofsson Tuch - Dahlin Quinn-Skinner-Okposo Krebs - Power
  5. It was a nice shot, be a goldfish Comrie
  6. Craig seems to do well against his former team and in the early part of the season as he showed last season. Ideally, Anderson plays about 20 games this year and aches himself into IR for UPL when he’s ready.
  7. The boards are aggravating, I like the normal sponsors
  8. Which Sabre scores first? Im guessing Olofsson on the PP
  9. Craig playing against Ottawa isn’t much news. Goalies love to play their former teams.
  10. I actually have more concern with Thompson’s contract than this one. It’s not anywhere near bad In any scenario. If he continues and further becomes a compliment to Dahlin, his cap hit will be awesome and it’s length eats most of his high level years.
  11. Based on Okposo’s Embedded episode I’d assume they are returning this year
  12. My guess is high 80’s or 90’s as long as key players stay healthy and experience curves keep on track. For instance even if Skinner goes 30g20a but Cozens gets to 20g40a then we have a net win. Tuch will bring consistent effort and be a rallying figure to the team as a whole and its fans. Goaltending is still questionable but at very least UPL looked better in the preseason, Comrie is almost certainly an upgrade to Tokarski and especially Dell. If Anderson can merely stay .900 SV% we’ll survive most nights. Lots of rookie talent replacing JAGs. To me the loss of Dell and Butcher are hugely positive. Dell went 1-8-1 in his 10 games; if he’s just plain average at 4-4-2 we’d have finished with 80+ points last year. Butcher was a defensive train wreck who was supposed to bring offense but rarely did. Out of our subtractions only Pysyk will be missed essentially.
  13. Crosby - Sure Tavares - No where near the best player on Toronto (Got C to protect the kids) McDavid - Sure Ovechkin - Sure Bergeron - Took over after Chara; doesn't really count as he wasn't a youngster when he got the C Tkachuk - Little to no competition Stamkos - Sort of, took over later in his career Couture - Best player yes but was older and effectively took it from Marleau Barkov - Still young but experienced, took over from a vet 4th liner who'd had the prior 3 or 4 seasons Landeskog - never the best player but a freak of nature with his maturity
  14. Pittsburgh is playing their entire roster practically We are playing our 3rd through 5th D pairs and a weaker hodgepodge of Forwards
  15. My guess is Buffalo has been biting Dallas’s heels about taking Khudobin’s contract for an asset and when they said no, Buffalo decided to instead pester them about Robertson. As for FLA’s Bob, I could see us taking him if they retain half.
  16. Bad play by the one dman, abandoned the guy going to the net to pinch the guy with the puck.
  17. Cozens to me is untouchable and I won't trade an unprotected 1st so this idea is likely mute in my opinion.
  18. My question would be how much does he want as well as the trade cost.
  19. While odd, Pronger got a waiver essentially due to him working for the league not a singular team. Likewise he had no loyalty to Arizona so his conflict of interest there would be negligible. (Plus it helped Arizona stay cap compliant)
  20. The best marketing is the marketing that is truly invisible and genuinely felt. Akin to how you're more likely to believe a suggestion from a friend or family member; when Adams says he wants to better the Sabres and that he personally wants the team to improve for the city, its believable since he's one of us. He's from Buffalo, lived in Buffalo most of his life and has both a personal and professional desire to succeed.
  21. What Dudacek said is pretty much my take. What he showed against MTL was a rustier player getting back into game speed whose playmaking slowly came on through the game while he did a good deal of harassing most shifts. A lack of consistency can easily be put on his likely recovering stamina. Excuses work in individual cases; I’m not going to worry unless we see these types of issues well into the season.
  22. Being excited and ready differs from being truly ready. Just because your health is back to good doesn’t mean you’ll immediately pick up where you left off.
  23. If his Defensive play continues to improve and he puts up 50+ pts, I’ll take the 9.5mil contract to him personally. Ideally you want to keep everyone under 10mil seeing as no one has won a Cup and only Price made a finals with a 10mil + cap hit.
  24. Stupid Canada
  25. Not to mention Miller's age is almost entirely in his 30's for the contract's length.
