  1. Then spent close to 100 mil on Thompson and Cozens Their cap floor situation this year was more indicative of their roster's age.
  2. Husso was traded for prior to signing Boston is unlikely to have traded him in the division Georgiev was a known headcase in NY
  3. 2nd game in a week in which we had the better analytics but were manhandled. I honestly feel they are in a bit of a vicious cycle at this time. Goalies are cold and Dahlin is playing hurt. Players feel nerves from playoff race Players grip sticks far too tight and try to overanalyze everything Goaltenders give up questionable early goal Players feel even more pressure and start gripping even harder Breakdowns start occurring and the players just can't break out of it. They seem to know what's happening before and after the game but during the heat of the moment are getting burned continuously. The loss to the Rangers seemed to snap something and started torching their mindset. If there's a sign of a lack of enough vets; it's this right here. Effectively you have 10+ players looking to Okposo and Anderson to right the ship. (A coach can't right the ship in this situation as it isn't Xs&Os but mental player stuff.) But Anderson can only play once a week maximum and Okposo is one guy. Girgs and Skinner are technically vets but neither have a lick of experience in playoff races and thus don't have anything to contribute really.
  4. Now the refs are calling penalties on our goalie again……
  5. God, I wish it were possible to get ROR back this offseason..... he'd literally solve our vet, lack of playoff experience, defensive forward and faceoff guy in one fell swoop.
  6. He actually kinda has a Peca like thing going with the shorter guy playing a big man’s game
  7. Subtract out the 2 Boston and 1 Dallas game and the numbers are far less ugly. -19 goals are from those 3 games. 12-16-4 vs the top 16 with a -20 isn’t exactly awful for a young team. It means they were mostly within 1.5 goals in every game
  8. Kulich and Savoie are the next wave; we need them as replacements and skilled fillers. Levi is our future in goal If this years 1st is a Dman, then he'd likely also be in that untouchable category due to our lack of D prospects. A protected 1st in 24' and all the other picks or prospects would be available.
  9. This year: Finish the season good, break out of this slump Next year: Make the playoffs barring crippling injuries to Dahlin/Thompson for half the year Use everything at your disposal besides Savoie, Kulich, Levi and (likely this year's 1st prospect) to generally upgrade the team as a whole.
  10. To those who only give negative commentary, leave… obviously something less involved is more your speed.
  11. Feels like the game isn’t as one sided as the score shows. Rather, they get a good chance they score. We do and we muff it.
  12. Victor Olofsson, the scorer of all worthless goals
  13. Sabres have one large Achilles heel and it’s defensively set up teams that block shots. Dahlin’s injury may have legitimately ended our year
  14. Quick question, how well would Levi need to be over his career for his trade to top Hasek’s? My guess is his 1st start is in a week or so. He’ll need some time to acclimate to the NHL’s ways of operating and some time to face NHL level shooting.
  15. I honestly think he is waiting until Sunday to see if NEU sneaks into the tournie
  16. I’ll take A only because I would fear Bs cost
  17. Can we once just have something go smoothly?
  18. To be honest I didn’t see much of any there with Tuch. He brushed him. Refs jobbed us; UPL is bloody inconsistent and stresses me out in net.
  19. I can't exactly comment on his parenting when his son is no longer at home and is in college. I doubt Danny told his son that partying > hockey and pushing wheelchairs down stair cases is ok. At minimum he needs to be suspended and required to pay for the repairs.
  20. I’d trade 24s 1st, Rosen and a 2nd for Saros but neither Demko and especially Hart deserve anywhere near that value. Demko, I’d offer Comrie, Rosen and Philly’s 2nd. Hart, at most Rosen and Comrie. Trading 1sts for goalies is rarely a good move. Demko would be a buy low situation and Hart has been better as of late and as a rookie but terrible in-between. Only Saros deserves a 1st since he is both a consistent higher tier goalie and is playing well. I don’t hate the Orlov idea, if you can get him at 4x5.5 I’d certainly accept barring significant playoff injury. I think Dahlin stays around 10mil at 8 years. Haula is also a pretty good idea if you can sell him on the role. I might keep both Girgs and Okposo and send Clague to Rochester for extra depth.
  21. Love the ever increasing water bottles. Skinner’s area now literally has a picture of a Staal brother on either side of him. Dahlin made a meme with his translated Swedish words. Good ole dry humor
  22. No, he is far from worth the price he'd require
  23. I have a feeling that if/when we are eliminated; that Dahlin will likely go on IR. He's obviously gutting it out in a desperate attempt to get a playoff spot which I commend.
  24. A few things on Greenway: He looks slow but was faster in the past. Probably needs an offseason to get back into a Granato style player. Defensively he is what we needed; might even rub off some defensive skills on the roster. Most evident on PK He hasn't been running around hitting people like I had hoped but has certainly been a bull wherever he goes. Very good net front presence; if at minimum thanks to his size. Greenway is effectively, for now, a larger more physical but slightly slower Asplund for the team.
  25. They didn’t draft 3 centers to draft 3 centers. We know for a fact that Savoie and Kulich were BPA for them at their respective picks. Östlund is more of 2-way center and was likely a better choice than a random offensive defenseman. After Nemec and Jiricek there wasn’t a solid 2 way Dman left at 16
