  1. Well aren't you peachy, I wouldn't start with the doom and gloom yet however. They did better than a 104 pt pace to finish last season so who's to say they can't this year for a long stretch.
  2. If he scores twice tonight he'd have 15 in 20 πŸ™‚
  3. The Sabres started the 1st great, got into penalty trouble, to a degree due to "Game Management" but killed the penalties and while scrambly looked okay. This idea they were on their heels from the 3rd minute of the 1st through the 2nd is BS. If we were on our heels, then MTL were on their heels anytime we had an offensive chance. The 3rd can be summed up as MTL having a bit of life, Buffalo drawing a penalty, scoring shortly after the PP and then taking it to the Canadiens for the remainder of the 3rd. One thing that is very noticeable is how much better their defense looks with Muel back there. Dahlin and him truly make each other even better than they are alone and situations rarely get completely out of hand with the two of them out there. It also allows Power to lessen his TOI and play with Jokiharju whom he works well with. The 3rd pair is more or less Bush-Bear and whichever Bryson shows up. (Bryson must have a twin who subs in from time to time because I have never seen a guy start seasons/ come off long press box stints so well only to after 5 to 10 games turn into a literal defensive mess)
  4. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3768584 How do these ideas look? Krebs went to Rochester
  5. How does Olofsson and a 4th for Dillon and a 3rd sound to you guys?
  6. I certainly wouldn't say its out of spite; its more or less unconscious. If all the players think that a specific way of them playing is going to help the team win; they'll naturally gravitate to that. I'm not saying they are trying to spite their teammates but rather they all are wanting to help but since they all try to do so in a similar manner it creates an endless feedback loop. If you have 5 dishwasher people in a restaurant and the boss says to go help in the kitchen; what happens if all 5 go to the dishwasher? Well no food gets made and the 5 people overcrowd the sink thus inversely making it more difficult to wash the dishes. None of the five are doing it out of spite or malice; they just naturally go to where they feel they are best suited. If you have 5 surgeons but no nurses or an anesthesiologist then more than likely the surgery won't go well even with the myriad of surgeons since they likely don't have the required skills to "knock someone out" and if they are used to running a room, some may struggle to follow due to the unfamiliarity of the position. This is what I'm trying to portray.
  7. Something is different but I can't exactly put my finger on it. I think the problem is a combination of lack of experience and a lack of players willing to play a lesser role in order to win versus most of these years being purely due to a lack of skill. Essentially, too few players are willing to consistently do the grunt work required to succeed; everyone wants to be the star. Okposo and Girgensons will fight the good fight but one is old and the other lacks overarching skill. Tuch and Cozens both tend to play the right way but both get cutsie at times. (Tuch as of late seems to be trying to be too cutsie in order to help the team; when technically we need the opposite) Peterka is inexperienced but plays a similar way to the two above. Asplund is Larsson 2.0, a guy who wants Top 6 minutes and won't just accept he's a better Bot 6 guy. Tage shows it intermittently, not grimy as much as willing to go to the front of the net and use his size. Skinner is a perimeter player who will try and deke his way into the greasy areas but when the puck isn't bouncing his way he looks worthless. Krebs and Quinn both can be tenacious but aren't experienced enough nor consistently hounding the puck. Krebs is more disappointing since he also has the whole super passing talent but does more harm than good most nights. Mitts is truly an enigma wrapped in a paradox. He's both talented but unskilled; fast but slow; smart but dumb; good but bad. He can look awesome one moment and look braindead the next and this continues game after game after game. It's like he has skill and fight but chooses not to for some unknown reason. In the end, most of the forwards are more built and personally desire the Top 6 role and thus seem to either dog it or ignore their role entirely.
  8. Just stick a sock in it; no one needs your endless negative banter. You never say much when they win but when they lose you arise from your hole and spout nonsense.
  9. I would say yes… kind of. They are now in a rut but the first 5/6 were games more unlucky than bad play related losses.
  10. Sheahan looked ok last time he was here, now he just looks slow and bad
  11. It’s more like we have too many guys who want to be top 6 and too few willing to do the dirty work
  12. I get the sense some of you would only be happy with Mike Keenan
  13. Aside Asplund the 4th line has been useless
  14. If I’m Granato I tell them to get their ***** in gear and win this period; I want you all flying and if you don’t then you’ll sit. Hit every Leaf as often as you can and send a message. Keep pressing the offense and see if you can breakthrough. No more dancing, you go and plow through every Leaf in your way.
  15. It’s like a persistent disease that lingers year to year. Some of them do truly play to the bitter end but it just seems like some of those guys grow tired of dragging the others.
  16. Quick question, how do we put a burr in their saddles so they play like the 2nd more often? Outside their PK which is embarrassingly bad
  17. Well at least they brought some physicality now; why have we always had such trouble against Murray?
  18. UPL looks pretty bad on that one
  19. I want them to play with that grit 60min and if needed more
  20. The team looks defeated, they came out strong and once bounces go against them they deflated. This is where we miss Okposo
  21. He's a slightly better Bjork who's also a center. Scored a hattie against Tampa a couple years ago.
  22. Hamburg has so much snow that it has blended our trampoline into a hill and covered both of our outdoor cars entirely.
  23. The 2023 is completely off the table in my opinion. It is far too good of a draft and we are far too unpredictable to send it away.
  24. Biggest issue there is finding players who are truly willing to play tough and aren't just benefitting from their superior size in lower leagues.
