Let's Make a Deal (Suggestions for K.A. for 2023)

No, he is far from worth the price he'd require -

I have a feeling that if/when we are eliminated; that Dahlin will likely go on IR. He's obviously gutting it out in a desperate attempt to get a playoff spot which I commend. -
A few things on Greenway: He looks slow but was faster in the past. Probably needs an offseason to get back into a Granato style player. Defensively he is what we needed; might even rub off some defensive skills on the roster. Most evident on PK He hasn't been running around hitting people like I had hoped but has certainly been a bull wherever he goes. Very good net front presence; if at minimum thanks to his size. Greenway is effectively, for now, a larger more physical but slightly slower Asplund for the team.

They didn’t draft 3 centers to draft 3 centers. We know for a fact that Savoie and Kulich were BPA for them at their respective picks. Östlund is more of 2-way center and was likely a better choice than a random offensive defenseman. After Nemec and Jiricek there wasn’t a solid 2 way Dman left at 16

I think like us, Adams was also rather pissed about how the Chychrun thing went down.

I'd be in the targeted camp; especially after Husso's rights was traded to Detroit I doubt Adams had much if any interest in either Campbell or Kuemper. Their contractual demands were huge for their caliber of player. -
Effectively 1/2 spots are open on the D at most. Samuelsson - Dahlin is more or less a lock Power - ??? In theory Power can also play his off hand and play with Muel but then we’d need another 1LHD ??? - Jokiharju. While much maligned, he is usually average The Bush as our 7 seems like a very solid role for him due to his injury frequency and having a specific physical role when playing. What we have already: Riley Stillman - could possibly be a solid 3LHD if he can return to his Florida play. Otherwise we likely carry 8 D next year. Jacob Bryson - seems to be on the outs based on both Adams attempting to get Chychrun and acquiring Stillman. May hold minor value in a trade akin to a pick in the 4th possibly? Kale Clague - brought in to be depth and Rochester’s player. Ended up being a pleasant surprise but isn’t more than a depth player at best. Ryan Johnson - as long as he signs, he’s another young LHD with solid skill and possible NHL readiness. I’d like him to stay in Rochester for a year though to give Levi at least 1 defensively stable youngster to work with Ideally we bring in one vet RHD to play with Power who can give us a vet playoff presence back there. To be honest, I liked the idea of Ekholm more than Chychrun only because he’s a far more seasoned player who has experienced playoff hockey. So at minimum I’d like to see a depth chart of Dahlin Power Samuelsson Vet RHD Jokiharju Stillman/Bush Stillman/Bush Clague (or a similar tweener for the 8 slot) Johnson Possibly another AHLer with NHL experience Trade Bryson

I wish ai could make calls in hockey because I'm so sick of the bias against the Sabres. -

Kind of feels like Tuch is the rallying figure on the team. Okposo is the Dad and Girgensons is the cool hard working uncle. When they get into these ruts like Dallas or Boston Tuch must be finding a way to keep the bench fighting. -
Really the issue with vet Dmen is they either want absurd contracts or are almost surely going to go the way of Gorges

Goat heads power us to victory. 7-3 Buffalo -
I wouldn't but would certainly be tempted. (Saros expires in 2 years and is great on a team with solid defensive play)

Still a traitor though

Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?

Win a few and we’ll look better. Panthers and Ottawa don’t deserve the playoffs anymore than our team. -
Chuck Fletcher out as Philadelphia GM, Danny Briere named Interim GM

Another former Sabre as a GM -
??? You don't draft for need in the NHL as they aren't plug-n-play players more often than not. We could of drafted 3 D last year and be in no better situation as we reach this final stretch. Adams went Best Player in the 1st round and then reached on a goalie in the 2nd.

Well it's not as if it would fix anything My guess is that Greenway's goal doomed Comrie. Granato would of swapped goalies between periods to help get a boost but chose not to when Greenway scored late. It was an ugly game all around; seems like a combination of stress, fatigue, and injuries are taking their toll on the young team. -

I could certainly see that being the case, the 04-05 team would of likely been similar to this one potentially with a mass quantity of younger players. The main difference being we had Biron as a starter with Miller on the way. -

It was not a goal; it was inconclusive and should of reverted to the call on the ice of no goal. I agree -

My guess is its very wearing when you face one of the fastest and highest scoring teams one night and then turn around and play the 90's Devils cosplayers the following night. All the while dealing with refs that seem hellbent on screwing us. -

I'm so tired of endless suffering with no respite. Phantom penalties, absurd overturns, and missed calls in our favor seem to occur far too often against us. -
The saddest part with Bryson is he’s ok in most attributes in terms of IQ and offensive instincts and has superb speed. However he is lighter than a feather and gets bullied by practically anyone who faces him. His net front style can’t work because he neither has the size nor strength to physically remove most opponents. What he should have done the last couple years is watch highlights of Spurgeon from MIN and asked Skinner for his lower body workout routine. Skinner has enough lower body strength to use his lower center of gravity to work over larger players and that is what Bryson would need in order to succeed.

IF he continues this play through to the playoffs 🙂 I'd give him another year to follow it up with. However I would trade him for a 4D if the situation arose.
