I'm incredibly confused. Are you shocked people disliked the contract Not shocked that some may hate the contract I need clarification!

That ain’t all that pretty; although his puck carrying is rather good

Will always hate the Dodgers since I'm a lifelong Giants fan but it still hurts to lose such a great talent. May he rest in peace. -
Skill wise certainly; but other factors like contract and influence need to be accounted for as well. In regards to availability, both suck.

My guess was that offer came prior to the Murray trade idea. Probing who Detroit wanted

Depends on if he has a NMC or NTC

Marchand, McCavoy and at least one other will miss the 1st month of season at minimum.

Also incredibly creepy in how his mind suddenly craved a smoothie he hadn't had in almost a decade and then mentally wanted to fix everything. -
Dahlin, Power, Mitts, Jokiharju, Krebs and Bryson for starters all end in 2 years. Cozens and Thompson following this year. At minimum Dahlin will need a raise as will Thompson. Jokiharju, Krebs and Mitts could potentially need money and we need breathing room for Power’s contract. So we have 2 years, not 5 to play with cap. 33 year old Kadri at 8mil is not worth losing a Mid 6 younger player in Mitts or Krebs who need 5mil. Best case scenario both round into solid mid 6 players, even 1 of them reaching that point puts a dire strain on our cap space with Kadri. Then comes Quinn and Peterka in 3 years. A Stastny or Larsson type make sense for 1 or 2 years. A Kadri doesn’t work as he’d either be Taylor Hall 2.0 or overpaid into his late 30s

Well that just happened

My guess is it’s partially due to the Canada/American divide, partially due to most people not really wanting to hear about it, and partially an almost numbing effect from the sudden frequency they’ve been coming out as of late. To me this 03’ one is a tad absurd; the crime is awful but it happened 19 years ago and seemingly only came out of the woodwork due to the other cases. Why now exactly? Part of me wants justice, and another part of me just sees this as a mud-raking affair against hockey Canada. To which I fear the eventual reaction will turn Hockey Canada into the most over the top “Woke” sport organization where trash talk is banned, they actively inundate us with Women’s hockey news like how ESPN obsesses over the WNBA and coaches are essentially forced to coddle players regardless of circumstances because yelling at any of them may offend or hurt someone’s feelings. Sometimes people need a figurative kick in the ass to become a good player. Hockey Canada like USA Hockey should in part be looking to bring the best out of players and draw upon competition to perfect it. Not tell everyone that playing hard is mean to your opponent and you should ease up to not hurt their feelings. Rant over. I guess in the end I don’t want this onslaught of sexual allegations to effect hockey like it has in most sectors. Instead of reforming and striking out the misbehaviors; they wildly overcompensate and try to “womanize” or worse water everything down to critique equals sexism and competition is wrong. (The Video game and YouTube media industry has been plagued by this and the usual response is to either kill everything or fundamentally change everything regardless of its involvement in the problem to begin with)

Respected is a very opinion based determination. Also it depends on what is regarded in your “respect” category. For instance both teams are jokes but for different reasons. Additionally, I can’t give much respect for a team that quite literally has unlimited money to work with. (Granted with a cap it does keep a lid on some of it) It’s like the Dodgers or Yankees, when you have every possible opportunity to better your team’s staff, scouting, health etc; it isn’t all that impressive to go to the playoffs year after year with an elite Center and continually fail to advance to anything.

Why? We went to Conference Final in both 05-06 and 06-07 and even with 11 years without the playoffs we still have a more recent 2nd round visit than the Laffs. Also just to add to the chuckles, Toronto has never won 3 rounds in the playoffs. Their last Cup run in 1967 had 2 rounds and 6 teams total. They haven't been to the Finals since thus meaning they have never won a 3rd round much less a 4th round (Championship)

Now Pittsburgh has joined the "over the cap" Club. -
Pack the thread until he's a UFA

Lol, that would certainly be a turn of events; however Eichel would nix it

It wasn't serious; or was he psychic?

What if that was his true reasoning for avoiding them? Also some people are guessing 2 of the guilty parties are Formenton and Batherson on Ottawa due to their age being mentioned in the original story and only 3 players remain from that birth year.

I believe it’s a perfect storm. 1. Sutter’s style doesn’t mesh with more offensive players sometimes 2. Gaudreau has always seemingly wanted to go home and Tkachuk’s homeward rumors have floated since his last contract 3. Gaudreau’s departure effectively broke the camel’s back with Tkachuk 4. CGY’s owner tends to heavily mettle in anything substantial while being anal with stadium negotiations 5. All the idiotic new age thinking has started infecting some players

In all honesty MT just isn’t worth it. 1. His contractual ask is going to be akin to 7/8x10mil and besides this past season he has never been enough of a scorer to justify that. 2. His trade ask is going to be enormous and borderline insanity if they convince MT to play ball with CGY’s wishes 3. MT is almost certainly looking to go home and join St. Louis. (Fascinating seeing as his brother immediately locked up long term with what was a terribly ran franchise and became their captain) I guess Brady was the more adventurous of the brothers.

What an event

Much of this is due to the NBA's sport basketball having far smaller cost of entry and the league actively peddling to the "modern" proclivities. The NBA has actively become everything that is wrong with this world. Constant action regardless if its needed; players run the league, overtly political, etc.

I’m curious as to why a number of people here have a vendetta against Mitts. It seems like anytime rosters are created some of you are always finding some reason why Mitts must be traded or will be traded. It’s the same issue on CapFriendly.
