  1. The Pens are not going to give up Crosby and a pick for Gerbe.
  2. Over all I think Sulzer has had some good play, but in the case of the game winner tonight, he needed to crush Crosby on the boards instead of just patting him on the back. Still I'm not unhappy with the effort from most of the team, especially coming back from being two down so early, Pommers on the other hand was really a disappointment today, he's been in a slump, but today he looked he looked totally uninterested.
  3. I'll take 30-40 minutes like that, if they can play that type a game for 30-40 minutes, the wins would be more frequent. Have fun at the game with your son (I'm assuming son), not a bad 1st game to see with Crosby and Malkin.
  4. When I first heard that Ted Black frequents the message boards, I thought it was BS, I guess I was wrong. Welcome Mr. Black.
  5. I think the 3rd period was by far the best period of hockey by the whole team this season, they are such a better team when they are aggressive and not back on their heels. Hopefully it carries over to Sunday. It was also nice to see some of the slumps busted. Four times in the last ten years, woo hoo. Maybe next time they make it, you can start the ticker tape parade.
  6. Yea, because the only reason people want Ruff fired is because he had 7 men on the ice. Maybe if Ruff wins a cup (or gets his team in the playoffs) people wouldn't be so hard on him.
  7. I don't know, I like Foligno, I'm pretty sure (hope) he'll get back on track. I'm just not super high on O'Reilly like a lot of people are, I just don't know why the Avs want to deal him so badly after a season where he seemed to take off, could it be they're just cheap and don't want to pay him or is there a problem with him.
  8. This morning I heard that the Leafs are willing to give them Tyler Bozak, I think we could do better than Bozak without getting rid of one of our top 4 defensmen, Tyler Ennis, Hodgson or Grigorenko.
  9. Really the 2 Boston games have been two of the better games this season, the last game was close until a empty netter at the end. The Sabres should have some confidence that they can beat the Bruins. One thing is the Bruins haven't been very physical with the Sabres so far, will that change tonight ? Don't know what the lineup is, but if Scott is in the pressbox, I think that could be a mistake.
  10. I have no problem with a senior player (leader) saying something to another player as far as constructive criticism, but you don't lay blame to that player or do it publicly.
  11. This is the reason why I am a firm believer that they have to go QB with the 1st pick. I don't believe that there are no QB's worth a 1st round pick in this draft, there may not be a Andrew Luck or RG III, but there are QB's that can lead a team to win. Also with the amount of teams in need of a starting QB and the rookie salary cap, there'll be more teams drafting QB's in the 1st, so the guy you may think will be there in the 2nd, may not be there. I can see 3-4 QB's going in the 1st round. I like Tyler Wilson myself, but with the new coaching staff and their connection with Nassib, I'd have no problems with the Bills selecting Nassib.
  12. I have hope for Bradham, Sheppard on the other hand not so much, then again with Wannstedt in control last season, it's hard to get a true line on any of the LB's. The Bills have to start clearing some cap space if they want to resign Levitre and Bryd, plus look at other FA's. McGee was a $4.6 Million hit, Barnnet saves them $3.5 Million. Wilson close to $3 Million, next should be Brad Smith, who would count $3.75 Million against this years cap, he need to go.
  13. It's funny how a game can affect people so much, I am usually the most optimistic person, but it's become with the Sabres, I've become a skeptic, I have a hard time finding hope and it's really starting not to be fun watching them or cheering for them, because I end up being disappointed and frustrated. I've been a Bills and Sabres fan for over 40 years and this is honestly the first time I don't find myself glued to a seat or my couch at home during the game. I have not gone to a Sabres game this year and I highly doubt that I will. At home I'm starting to channel surf during the game, I would never even do that during commercials before. The lock out may have contributed to this feeling, but the uninspired, boring play is the major cause. With the Bills, it's been different, the expectations haven't been as high, nor have the promises from management. I know I'm not alone, many people I've talked to feel this way or are starting to. The Sabres have to do something and I think it needs to be a lot more than bringing in a player or two or giving us more cheap talk with unfulfilled promises.
  14. I heard it on WGR this morning, it wasn't from them, they were quoting some source, but I can't remember who it was from. Sorry Callaway Sabres, didn't see your post above.
  15. If he is this great, wouldn't there be more interest in him then 3 bottom feeders (Sabres, Islanders, Pantheres) and the Maple Leafs ? I also heard that the Avs are looking to get a "bigger" player. Don't get me wrong, I would take him on the team, but not at the cost of one of our best players and a prospect or two.
  16. Yea, but he's small and needs a haircut.
  17. I am so excited that maybe we can get a "two way" player that Lindy Ruff is going to turn into Michael Peca and for only one of our top scorers and a young prospect or two, then pay him $6 Million a season, I can't wait. :death: see, Jochen Hecht

    This team stinks

I heard the Lindy Ruff explanation on this goal and he talked about Ennis playing defense, so Ehrhoff should have picked up the man, what game was he watching ?
  19. It's good they put shots on net, but shooting into the chest of the hottest goalie in the league right now, with nobody in front of the net is not gonna result in many goals. I thought they put in effort, but they look lost out there most of the time. IMO
  20. "All right then tell me who you think should be coach because otherwise you aren't saying anything" KS
  21. It's nice to see them enter the zone and put some pressure on, instead of dumping it in and sending 1 guy to chase it. The refs need to let them play, those were 3 terrible calls. Stafford.
  22. Maybe because he took a penalty against Boston, can't have that. I think Sulzer's been one of the most consistent D-men on the team so far this year, to go along with having 3 goals and being a +4
