  1. Trading Byrd is not going to be that easy, how many teams are there out there that are going to want to pay a safety $9 Million, especially one that pouts and sits when he doesn't get his way and has an A-hole for an agent. I could care less if Byrd ever steps on the field again for the Bills, but the return on a trade is not going to be as high as some think.
  2. I think Ott would make a great captain, except I would be concerned about what kind of relationship he would have with the refs, Ott is pretty vocal on the ice and may take some liberties with the rules. How will this sit with the refs ?
  3. I'd give the C to Vanek, I think that he wants it, he seemed bothered when Lindy gave it to Pommers, I think it might change his demeanor some.
  4. I love the idea of a fast paced offense, but there are times when it needs to be slowed down, yesterday, you could see EJ was having trouble, he's a rookie QB facing a Rex Ryan defense that is doing nothing but pinning their ears back and going after the QB, yet EJ is trying to maintain this breakneck pace. Hackett should of had him slow down, take his time and get his reads right and get his head clear. Manuel was running for his life, yet Hackett did nothing to slow the rush, was there a screen pass or hitch thrown all game ? Why after 2 weeks of having success with short quick routes is every pass a fade 20-30 yards down field, Tampa was killing the Jets with quick slants and short passes. Did Hackett give into the "fans" that were crying for a downfield passing attack ? The running game wasn't having success, but you can't totally abandon it. As far as the running game goes, get rid of that read option, I really think that may be the biggest problem with Spiller right now is trying to run out of that or running behind Colin Brown. The read option was a fluke last season and it seems the results are not so good with the teams that are running it this season. I'm willing to give Hackett a chance, but to me, it seems that the play calling has been poor this season and things are going to have to change, beginning with slowing it down enough to where your QB is comfortable and can look over the defense.
  5. What is Darcy trying to build ?
  6. They make passing look like the most difficult thing to accomplish.
  7. I was wondering the same thing, but I haven't heard anything advertised or rumored.
  8. Hopefully he has a good game, if this is one of his last games as a Sabre, I hope he goes out on a high note.
  9. If down in the 3rd period, how early will Rolston pull the Goalie ? I don't think he'll pull him with anything more than 2 minutes left. He might have to take a chance, if they lose this game, it's over (if it isn't already).
  10. There's always Bison baseball, which I'll admit I don't follow, but it is nice to spend an afternoon at the ballpark, every once in a while.
  11. Larsson also scored in the shootout, which would be the winner (1st shooter) since Hackette didn't allow a goal in the shootout..
  12. Jacksonville is slated to have 4 games overseas starting in 2013 in London, the Rams were scheduled to have games in London in 2013 and 2014, but pulled out to work on renewing their lease. You will see more teams following suit and I'd much rather have the Bills play 100 miles away from home, instead of 3,000 miles away. Plus a large number of Bills fans are from the Toronto area.
  13. Pretty quiet so far, maybe he forgot to set his alarm clock, or circle the day on the calendar.
  14. Vanek to the Flyers ? http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/phi130402.html
  15. Sure they can beat up on a team like the Pens, but when facing power houses like Florida or Tampa, they fold.
  16. Nice shott by Ott. Myers really was in a no win situation on their goal if he stays with Iginla, Kunitz walks right in on Miller.
  17. Looks like they're not going to call penalties on the Pens, that'll help the streak.
  18. When you wait untill there's less than a week to the trade deadline before you start working trades, it doesn't give you much time to shop a player out there in hopes of a bidding war or to stall a team into offering more.
  19. I think keeping him out for the 3rd period was a little excessive, I expected him to be back for that last period. As I said earlier, Rolston was pretty upset the last time they took a penalty for yapping at the ref, he might have told them that is unacceptable and then Leino goes ahead and gets called for it. It may be a case of the players are not listening to Rolston and this is a way of sending them a message. I need to stop trying to figure out/guess why does anyone on this team (coaches or players) do what they do, it causes headaches.
