I like Kaleta, but just because he picked up an assist, does he have to be out there when we're down by a goal in the final 2 minutes ? I guess Lindy was going with the hot hand.

Do they do the same with Hodgson, who has a lower percentage than Ennis over the 4 games ?

In the press box, Lindy benched him for taking that penalty against the Canes (not true, at least I hope it's not true).

So I guess that means that Lindy will get a new multi year extension. So we should settle for being as "tough" as the Canes ?

Are the Sabres afraid of Bowman for some reason ?

Defense looks much better tonight.

The crosscheck to the face was a defensive move as Bowman was coming up high on Sulzer. as far as the retaliation went, it was the tap with the stick on Bowman's shinpad by Myers. I believe that it was 0-0 at the time, if they didn't retaliate because of fear of losing the PP, that BS. I also hated when Ott had the whole Carolina team ready to pound him and nobody came in because they didn't want to lose the faceoff in the Carolina zone. Way to send a message to the league. Keep the golf etiquette on the golf course, they'll be there soon enough, if they keep playing like little B.......

At times he has looked a little tentative, maybe he's still a little intimidated by the NHL game, I thought he looked good in the 3rd though.

I like the way they've been calling the games as far as trying to put an end to the clutching and grabbing but it seems that a lot of the offsides calls have been questionable, but I'll trade a few offsides calls for keeping up with the interference calls. The refs have been good to the Sabres so far, IMO.

Hodgson could/should of been awarded one of Carolina's 3 stars for yesterday's game and he's been not much more than a recipient of good play by Vanek and Pommers. Hecht, did not connect on a great chance on a 2 on 1, but I've also been a little surprised by his play so far, which has been better than I expected. The one good thing is that's it's only 3 games into the season, unfortunately in this shortened season every loss is crucial.

Has anyone on the defense played above average in the 3 games they've played so far ? To me the defense looks soft, last night Carolina had no problem entering the zone, I don't recall anyone challenging them. Regehr, who you would hope to bring a little edge to the backline has 3 hits in 3 games, Sekera looks lost and Leopold has been terribly inconsistent. Ehrhoff and Sulzer have been average. It's only been 3 games, without a real pre season, so hopefully things will turn around. I certainly would bring Ruff into the topic, but I won't "hijack" the thread, besides Terry and Darcy like him.

Grigorenko may have been the best Sabre out there in the 3rd (that's not saying much). As far as Myer's, he's right on pace for Lindy Ruff player development.

To be fair you must also realize that WGR did a 2 hour show dedicated to hockey every day during the lockout in the middle of football season.

Scott landed a punch to the forehead right when he caught the one to the breadbasket that put him on his knees, the Homer in me says draw, although to me it looked like Scott could of beat him badly at the start, but seemed to hold back, again I'm a homer. Foligno gets the win hands down.

I'm happy with the way he's looked so far, he hasn't really had the puck in space, that should change once Leino replaces Hecht on the line. Leino should draw a little more of the defense's attention and be able to find Grigorenko open. I don't see what sending him back down to the Junior's will do to improve his NHL game, he needs to learn the game at this level.

Way to step up by Drew Stafford, but it never should have come down to Stafford having to do that when Marcus Foligno is on the ice, the kid needed to step it up there.

I'm hoping for this also. I'll admit I wasn't so sure about Hodgson being ready for that 1st line center spot, but hopefully he can fill it.
