  1. I fell asleep early into the 3rd period last night, I honestly can't remember another time I have fallen asleep during a Sabres or Bills game in over 40 years. I still haven't found the will power to just completely say no to watching them, but if this current trend keeps up, I can't imagine the day where I don't even care what time the Sabres game is, could be too far away.
  2. Lindy throws Enroth under the bus, but fails to ever criticize Miller with his amazing 3.11 GAA. Sabres have allowed the most goals against in the league, is it all Enroth's fault ? The first goal in last nights game came off a deflection and two of them came from an open player atop the slot, that's not a great position for the goaltender to be in, especially when it's Daniel Alfredson out there. I have gotten sick of hearing Lindy throw his players under the bus in his post game conferences and I'd imagine that a lot of the players are sick of it also.
  3. We may see Lindy dress 7 defensemen, his answer to the scoring slump. It's no wonder Hecht is sitting, he played over 21 minutes Sunday, that's 3 games for a 4th line (should be) center. Speaking of the 4th line, in the 2nd game in 24 hours, the 4th line gets 4 minutes TOI, it should be no surprise that the team looked gassed in the 3rd period. In the first game the 4th line got double that.
  4. I don't know about that, Lindy's never had a problem throwing one of his players under the bus.
  5. Maybe, my honest opinion would of been better. Well maybe they ought to move him in between Stafford and Foligno so he can get them scoring. Out of Hodgson's points, he has 1 goal that wasn't a pass from Vanek, the 1 that went off his body and 1 assist that wasn't a Vanek Goal, today's Sulzer goal, which Vanek had the primary assist. I'm not trying to blast Hodgson, he's young and hopefully will turn into a very good player, but this team is riding on Vaneks back right now and everyone needs to step it up.
  6. I don't remember anyone saying he sucks, buy him out or waive him, but the truth is without Thomas Vanek, Hodgson would be as inapt as the rest of this team is.
  7. I don't know the posters involved or what the disagreement was, but this is a message board, people have different opinions and debates/arguments will and do happen, but nobody should ever feel they have to leave the board because of a disagreement. Sometimes things get heated here, but the Mods do a good job and I'm pretty sure they will be fair to all and take steps to keep some kind of order. The more posters the better, none of us can always be right (excluding myself  ) and it's good to see how others see things, sometimes things we don't see ourselves.

    Tyler Myers

Agreed. There is no way I think that the Sabres should get rid of Myers, as some have suggested, the kid has a ton of natural talent, but has not developed his game in the 3 years he's been here (a Sabres trend), a lot of his mistakes seem to come from bad positioning or an uncertainty of where to be. Teaming Myers with Leopold has not done anything to help him either. I'm pretty sure there would be 29 other teams that would love to have Tyler Myers.
  9. Not meant as a dig on Hodgson, but you could put Matt Ellis out there between Vanek and Pommers and he would get points.
  10. The Sabres got their revenge when Gaustad took on Lucic.
  11. Stevie Wonder would of seen that hit from the spot where Scott was on the ice when it happened. Scott has been on the ice a couple of times were he should/could of came to the defense of another Sabre being "abused". Now is this something that Lindy has changed in Scott's game, or is his reputation bigger than he is ?
  12. I really hope that the Sabres can pull out a big win tonight, but I really expect that Lindy will have them in a defensive mode, trying to weather the Boston storm and hope to out Goaltend them. I can see Hecht getting 18+ minutes, Ellis getting around 12 minutes and Grigorenko getting about 7 minutes. Hopefully if and when someone runs Vanek through the boards (the John Scott reputation, will do nothing to stop this), they'll receive more than a stick tap on the shinpads. The styles and mindsets of these two teams couldn't be farther apart.
  13. I worry about someone getting hurt in this game, I don't know if Scott being in the line-up stops many of the Sabres from being intimidated and the Bruins certainly are not going to be intimidated by the Sabres. Coming out of this game without an injury would be a plus. The standards are starting to get pretty low.
  14. As a Center, you would hope to see more assist (any) from Hodgson, especially while being teamed with Vanek and Pommers. Hodgson is also averaging almost 4 minutes more of ice time a game 19:44 to 15:57. Kassian has also recorded 19 hits so far. It is too early to say who will turn out to be a better player in the long run. I was never crazy about getting rid of Kassian, but we needed a center and I had hopes for Hodgson, although right now I do not see Hodgson as a first line center, hopefully that will change (soon), but this regimes record for developing players is not the greatest.
  15. 4 on 4 can be exciting, if you have a coach that is going to try and take advantage of the open ice and not just worry about getting scored on. I'm sick of Lindy using this Chan Gailey way of coaching, where's he's more concerned about what the other team is doing instead of utilizing what talent you have to score. The best defense is a good offense.
  16. With the chance to end a 3 game losing streak, you have to show a little balls and start taking some chances on the offensive end, if you have the opportunity, this playing safe defensive style hockey, obviously isn't working with this team.
  17. At this rate maybe we'll have 30 of them by the end of the season.
  18. 40 seconds left in the 3rd of a tie game, with the faceoff in the leafs zone and Lindy putts Matt Ellis out there.
  19. The Leafs don't seem intimidated by John Scott being on the ice, Hecht got blasted.
  20. Maybe if the refs would of called the first check from behind on Ott, the 2nd one on Kaleta might not have happened.
  21. Ellis and Scott, Lindy wants him to learn defensive hockey (no scoring).
  22. Kassian has surpassed his 27 game Sabres goal total of 3 goals, scoring his 4th of the season in the Canucks 6th game. He has also been hitting, having 16 hits. It seems like he progressing pretty well with Vancouver.

    Ruff's System

Maybe not so much on the ice, but running for the bus, they're a blur.
