  1. OK, what did they do with the real Sabres ? They must of been stopped at the border and replaced with a hockey team.
  2. I don't think that record is in any jeopardy of being broken tonight.
  3. I like the 2nd line a lot, it might be the change that gets Vanek back to where he was in the beginning of the season. I don't know what can get Pommers to start playing, maybe shipping him to be with Derek Roy, where ever that may be, don't think it will be in Dallas with Roy wanting $6 Million next year.
  4. The Sabres do seem to be playing better (for what it's worth), but have yet to turn in a full 60 minutes. It also seems they have the worst luck, but they say good teams, make their own luck. Under Rolston the Sabres are 4-4-3, they have to do a lot better than .500 to make the playoffs (hey, I still have a little optimism left).
  5. The Ennis call was ridiculous, the ref was 5 feet away, but as I said during the game, I'm sure they would claim "Ennis turned into it."
  6. That's just it, he doesn't care, Darcy has said he doesn't feel any pressure, after all, he's the "GM for life."
  7. It's so easy to say Bolden could of been had for a 6th round pick, what if he didn't want to come here ? He also said he would retire if the Ravens didn't resign, so I think the number of teams that he would consider playing for was probably pretty small and I'd bet the Bills wasn't one of them. There's nothing wrong with Lawson, he falls under the "I've never heard of him", so he can't be good category If Pettine wanted him, I'm good with that. This team LB's have been terrible, you have to start somewhere.
  8. I did the same after a couple of minutes, no need to hear Rob Ray tell me how good practice is going, especially in a haze of static.
  9. To me it sounds like Kypreos is just trying to throw something against the wall and hopes it sticks, the way he says, his days are numbered, although the number of days could be high and could force the Sabres to wait until the summer, or even 2013-14. So is it days or another year ? Because of the price of Millers contract, of course there's a chance the Sabres choose not to resign him after it expires. There's no scoop here.
  10. Maybe it's the Polack in me, but I don't get it.
  11. It'll be interesting to see what happens, I can't see Miller taking any kind of pay cut and I don't see the Sabres asking him to take one, but I don't think they should pay top 5 money for a goalie to Miller.
  12. The cap hit will only be $3 Million this year, next year it will count $7 towards the cap.
  13. Looks like there will be no Tyler Ennis, nor Ville Leino. I'd like to see Flynn moved up to the 2nd line in place of Ennis, but I don't think Rolston will do it and break up the 3rd line, that's been possibly the best line recently. I'd love to see a dominant win by the Sabres, but I'd settle for any regulation win at this point.
  14. I saw this posted on facebook and I thought it was pretty funny, so I'll share it. Hello I'm Brendan Shanahan....two seperate incidents occurred last night in a game between the flyers and the sabres. In the first period Tyler Ennis deliberately turned his body at the last second and baited Wayne Simmons into hitting him from behind resulting in the play being stopped when Philly had control of the puck it was a selfish act on Tyler Ennis' part and for his actions I have suspended Tyler Ennis for 3 games when he can eventually walk again after the hit. In the third period Nathan gerbe was was facing the boards for far too long and Luke schenn could not wait any longer for gerbe to turn around so he could legally paste the much smaller Nathan gerbe into the boards. The play resulted in a flyers penalty which was the wrong call and could have led to the sabres possibly tying the game. For gerbe's actions I have suspended him for 3 games, I would have been 10 if the sabres had tied the game. I have additionally fined Ron Rolston 10,000 for advocating such behavior from his team. I would also like to send my condolences to the flyers for having to witness these selfish acts.
  15. It's not that crazy to think that, because you'll notice that 2 of the players that seem to always have their feet moving are Porter and Flynn. That may also raise the question of the conditioning of this team, which really seems to be poor at times.
  16. Something that stood out to me watching this video recap, is the amount of coasting Pommers does, it's like once he hits the blue line his skates never come off the ice, weather it's in the offensive zone or backchecking. I know there's times when he can be an effective/good player, but you can't go thru a game with giving so little effort and wear the C and I know he's not the only one, but he is the Captain. http://www.nhl.com/i...m?id=2012020371
  17. It doesn't matter what Ennis did, you can't leave your skates and deliver an elbow to someone's head. This is such BS, I guarantee you if I'm skating full speed at you and you have the chance, you're going to turn your back to protect yourself instead of taking a hit head on, especially if you're 5' 9" and 160 lbs.
  18. Feeling good for a victory tonight, the team had a few days to work on some things and I think it will show.
  19. I think Flynn has shown improvement in the last 3 games he's played, he's no nonsense, he gets the puck and starts moving. There are too many players on this team, that when they get the puck look indecisive/clueless, especially on defense.
  20. I think Flynn looked good the other night, he skated hard and ended up 2nd on the team for SOG's with 5 shots, only behind Hodgson's 7 shots and he brought a lot of energy. Myself I would sit Hecht and I'm not a Hecht hater, but it's time for the team to start moving forward and Hecht shouldn't be part of that plan. His PK time has been limited the last 2 games even with Kaleta being out. I also do not want Grigorenko sitting, he had his best game the other night and showed signs of the player he can become.
  21. It may be a little old school, but I think the first minute of this song would be fitting for the Sabres. lyrics Well listen everybody to what I got to say there's hope for tomorrow if we wake up today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDND4qMUVk4
