May the playoffs evade them for seasons to come. It would be glorious!

Seravalli: Is there a better positioned non-playoff team than Buffalo?
Hawerchuk replied to ExWNYer's topic in The Aud Club
Well it sure isn't Pittsburgh! 🤣 It feels so good as a hockey fan to finally see those bastards out of the Playoffs (Capitals too). From WGR this morning: "As you look ahead to next year, Caufield said there are numerous holes that have to be made up this offseason, and they’ll have to do it with limited salary cap room. They’ll also have a few albatross contracts to deal with: - Mikael Granlund: Five points (1+4) in 20 games, $5 million - Jeff Carter: 38-years-old, a minus-16, $3.125 million - Jeff Petry: 35-years-old, 31 points (5+26) but inconsistent, $6.25 million They have just over $63 million already committed to next season, according to CapFriendly, and that’s with free agents Tristan Jarry and Jason Zucker, as well as restricted free agents Alexander Nylander and Drew O’Connor. Plus, after next season Jake Guentzel becomes an unrestricted free agent. “They are multiple moves away,” Caufield said. “You even hear players, Evgeni Malkin saying they were faster than them. They are not built properly, they are multiple moves away. They are multiple players away to compete." -

To avoid the paywall on TBN, once the article opens up, quickly "SELECT ALL", then "COPY". You must do this very fast before the paywall subscribe comes up. Once copied, open up a text program ( I use TextEdit on Apple Mac) and paste. Just increase the font size and you're in business. No pics or anything but at least you can read the articles. I suppose on a PC, MS Word program would work. Enjoy. GO SABRES!!

Lyubushkin had the tying goal on his stick when he was all alone in the slot, 3rd period. He ripped a good one but unfortunately, Stuart Skinner was a brick wall.

Rasmus Asplund traded to Nashville for a 2025 7th Round Pick

No big loss. Asplund provided ZERO offense. -
GDT: Sabres @ Mighty Ducks, Feb 15, 2023, 10pm, MSG WGR

Sorry if this was mentioned already, but did anyone watch the Ducks TV broadcast with the streaking black puck line when the teams were on the powerplay? So freaking annoying. Like were back to the glowing puck days! Just stop it! -

Since JJ Peterka is a healthy scratch tonight, would it be wise to send him down to the Amerks for a bit and call up someone else (Biro, Rousek or Weissbach)? Seems to me he needs to reload, get some scoring confidence back. I'm not sure his waiver eligibility so I could be wrong. Anyway, just a thought. -
Triumph was always my mini Rush. I liked a lot of their stuff. I'll check it out and thanks for the heads up SDS!

GDT: Colorado at Buffalo, Dec. 1, 2022, 7pm, MSG, WGR

Let's hope the penalties stay at a minimum. 7 last night is way too much. Gotta admit, 3 of those penalties were complete garbage calls. I think Larkin fell on his own and they call tripping on MULE. Cmon!! And I'm not talking about the 5 on 3 late in third. Those were legit calls. This was in the second period If I recall. -
If I don't ever see Pilut on the ice again that would be fine by me. Bryson is way better than him IMO.

My top 3: Whistler BC, Jackson Hole WY and Arapaho Basin CO. I also enjoy Mammoth CA, Kirkwood (Tahoe) CA, Alta UT, Palisades Tahoe (formally Squaw Valley) and Deer Valley UT. THE WEST IS THE BEST!

Easily the best hockey movie ever made. Probably seen Slap Shot over 50 times, no joke. Just fantastic. R.I.P. Mr. Duncan, aka Jim Carr.

This was the number 1 illegal site to go to but now you need a VPN account to access it in North America. They got wise.

I was looking at this. I live in Las Vegas, would I get every Sabre game on ESPN+? If so I'll pull the trigger. I've been using some of the illegal sites but they are always sketchy and tons of pop up garbage. Tired of it. Thanks in advance.

If you get a chance to go, you shouldn't miss it. I went to the last two in Las Vegas and both were great. Met Rob Ray, Marty Biron, Don Luce, Rick Martin, Rick Jeanerrette, JP Dumont, Jason Dawe, Danny Gare, Rhett Warrener, Jordan Leopold, Grant Fuhr, Duffer, Clint Marlarchuk and current GM Kevyn Adams. Its usually about 2-3 hours held at a bar or restaurant. There is a VIP package you can buy which includes the buffet. I just got a regular ticket both times. All the players are friendly and never felt out of place making conversation with any of them. Its a cool experience and they usually have raffle prizes and trivia. Totally worth it and lots of fun. Don't miss it especially if RJ is in attendance. LETS GO BUFFALO!

Good job! Looks nice and clean. How about adding the Atlantic Standings and Next 5 scheduled games coming up; sort of like a quick glance graphic? -
Guesstimate Your Eastern Conference Final Standings
Hawerchuk replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Nice write up. Good points made on all Eastern teams. I'd swap NY Islanders to 6th and move Pittsburgh to 12. The Pens are so overrated. And I'm willing to bet New Jersey ends up higher than Ottawa (mostly because I think the Sens D is gonna stink). Just a hunch though. I love the Sabres as dogs and surprise everyone. Like you said, they have a ton of speed now and their D with the addition of Owen Power is going to stabilize this group (even as a rookie). Just need a solid performance from the goal tending and this team will be a lot stronger than years past.
