  1. Agree 100%. A player like Alex Pietrangelo of the Golden Knights is a perfect example. Not that he's coming to Buffalo, lord help us, but this type of player for sure.
  2. Terry Pegula is a total moron. I hate this guy. Sure its the players on the ice and the coach and GM, I get that, but Terry hasn't hired any real hockey veterans to run this club. He meddles in everything and he doesn't know jack squat.
  3. I read his biography. "Matthew Barnaby: Unfiltered". Good read, I enjoyed it. He absolutely loved Ted Nolan and would run thru a wall for him. He despised Dominik Hasek due to his selfishness, as did Rob Ray (Ray said so in his book: "Rayzors Edge"). Anyway, Barnaby has his demons, and its not pretty, but his time in the Goathead was unforgettable and I loved his passion for the team. That '99 Cup was ours gdammit!!
  4. 50 First game was at The Aud in 1980 with Bob Sauve between the pipes. My uncle had season tix for a long time. First row Red seats in corner near Player and Zamboni tunnel. I miss that place. The nachos, the cracker jack guy in the wheelchair out front, the tunnel ramps, the cigarette smoke filled halls, the Earl of Bud and of course the rink with the boards and glass that would just rattle like crazy after a big check. Good times!
  5. Sorry late question here. I watched the game but didn’t have sound available. What was the call that gave Pittsburgh an immediate 5 on 3 powerplay? I Cant remember last time I’d seen a team get two different penalties simultaneously. And of course the Penguins score.
  6. 46 total shots. None of them any good. Can’t believe we saw that many shots that have completely no impact in the game. JFC!!
  7. Ever since he’s owned them they have sucked big time. I hate that loser. He got lucky with the Bills. Wish he would sell the Sabres.
  8. I'd add #15. Cheap bastard Terry Pegula refusing to hire a Hockey Operations guy or President of Hockey Ops. Whatever you want to call it, he's failed spectacularly at this. What did Pat Lafontaine do to be banished is beyond me?
  9. Yes, T Mobile Arena is amazing and its loud in there with all the stuff going on. Sensory overload at times too. However, its one of the most expensive arenas in the league so I only go to several games a year.
  10. I'll be at the game tonight because I love self punishment. Looking for a WIN but not expecting much. Now would be a great time for 24-Cuzy to step up with a couple goals. We can dream right?
  11. Getting ready to set myself up for failure because I'm attending the Golden Knights game tomorrow night. Yes, I still care, but less and less every non playoff season that goes by. Its getting old man!
  12. 🤬Terry Pegula and 🤬this team! So sick of this garbage.
  13. So how do the Bills figure to draw big corporations for the new billion dollar stadium then? Don't forget about all the PSLs (personal $eat license) the fans will have to shell out too on top of the season ticket prices. Not attacking your post, Marvin, but it seems it just isn't viable for WNY to have endless corporate money.
  14. Look at Danny Briere: Height 5.10 -- Weight 181 He was an incredible player and on the small side. I wouldn't worry about Benson's current height / weight. He's got the hockey IQ, he's tenacious and creates plays.
  15. Benson is hustling all over the ice and he works hard. Its been great to see. So my question is this. What does it really matter if he stays and burns a year of his entry level contract? What is the downside to that? I've never understood it really. If he's going to be good, which seems to be the case, why care about losing a year? Let's go Buffalo - Time to get in the win column tonight!
  16. It didn't help things either when the Rangers blocked a million shots last night! Gheesh, just brutal. And Tage had several horrible misses where he didn't even hit the net. Delete this one out of the memory banks and move on.
  17. While this is true, one could argue Quebec has a passion for hockey unlike the other three I mentioned.
  18. Atlanta failed twice so that is a hard NO. Houston? I'd pass on that one but I guess it could be a Dallas Stars rival? Quebec? I'd take that in consideration because they love hockey and would do well. Kansas City? Definitely NO!
  19. Never say never, but I'm gonna say never on this one.
  20. Lost a true legend yesterday. One a of kind and a true hockey hall of famer. I was so glad I got to meet him at the Alumni Event they had last year in Vegas at Hofbrauhaus. Spoke to him for 10 mins. Real friendly and talked a bit about Buffalo. I asked him how does he remember every player every game during the heat of the action. Do you study the roster / jersey numbers before each game or what? He said "hell no, i just wing it every time." HA, he had me laughing but he was dead serious. If there was anyone who could "wing it" it was definitely Rick. His calls were simply incredible. The hockey gods now have another one with them. Rest in peace, Rick.
  21. Most of those are a hard NO for me, but the ones I kept from your list, I would definitely agree with. Especially CHIPS IN PUCKS. That's a real good one which should be implemented. I also would love to see a Sept - April season. Awarding the CUP in June just sucks overall.
  22. Um, a that's a big NO on kicking it in. Its not soccer. And, I'm just not on board with 3 points. My tweak would be 2pts for a Regulation win and OT. 1 pt for each team making it to the shootout (plus the other point for a shootout win) AND ZERO points if you lose in Overtime. It would make both teams try as hard as possible to win in OT instead of just floating around waiting to get to the shootout. Just my 2 cents.
  23. Here's one I've always thought could use a revamp. Calling a timeout. Each team gets only one per game and its only for 30 seconds. That to me is ridiculous. You can barely get the guys to the bench let alone draw up a play or what not in 30 seconds. Why not give each team a minute or 1:30? Seems to me 30 seconds is way too short. Now, i understand there are aprox three TV/commercial timeouts per period, but still doesn't give the team calling one enough time in my opinion. Look at basketball, friggin teams get like 15 timeouts per game (ok, i exaggerated but still). Give the coaches and players more time to use their only one timeout.
  24. It was just mentioned above, but Mogilny for Peca was a killer for me. HOWEVER, Mike Peca became my favorite soon enough. So it turned out to be a "win" in the end.
