I read his biography. "Matthew Barnaby: Unfiltered". Good read, I enjoyed it. He absolutely loved Ted Nolan and would run thru a wall for him. He despised Dominik Hasek due to his selfishness, as did Rob Ray (Ray said so in his book: "Rayzors Edge"). Anyway, Barnaby has his demons, and its not pretty, but his time in the Goathead was unforgettable and I loved his passion for the team. That '99 Cup was ours gdammit!!

The nachos, the cracker jack guy in the wheelchair out front, the tunnel ramps, the cigarette smoke filled halls, the Earl of Bud and of course the rink with the boards and glass that would just rattle like crazy after a big check. Yes, T Mobile Arena is amazing and its loud in there with all the stuff going on. Sensory overload at times too. However, its one of the most expensive arenas in the league so I only go to several games a year.

Look at Danny Briere: Height 5.10 -- Weight 181 He was an incredible player and on the small side. I wouldn't worry about Benson's current height / weight. He's got the hockey IQ, he's tenacious and creates plays.

Benson is hustling all over the ice and he works hard. Its been great to see. So my question is this. What does it really matter if he stays and burns a year of his entry level contract? What is the downside to that? I've never understood it really. If he's going to be good, which seems to be the case, why care about losing a year?
