Keeping an incompetent like Botteril will only mortgage the future for a longer period of time. I have no faith in his ability to spend the available cap space and make prudent moves to make us a contender. We need an experienced proven GM to make the moves now. I highly doubt Cirelli is available. He’s exactly what we need.

No evidence we would have lost Skinner. Botteril grossly overpaid but no other team was able to offer 8 years. I highly doubt any team that he would want to go to would have offered more than 49 million.

Skinners contract is another reason Botteril should be fired immediately.

I think Montour is the asset that has to be moved in order to acquire a #2 C. No one else has the value. I doubt a young #2 C gets moved at the deadline. This is more of an offseason move.

Montour is mediocre and a waste of a first round pick. He is another mistake of Botterils.
