I thought the whole reason they overpaid for Frolik was that he was a great penalty killer. Guess tha was another bad Botteril decision.

Skinners contract should have been comparable to what Kreider just got form the Rangers ( 7 years 46 million). I think Kreider is a better all around player. Instead Botts grossly overpaid and now we are stuck for years. I'm not sure what 2nd line Center we will have that can get Skinner going. I like Ralph, he is one of Botts best moves, but Idk what's going to happen with Skinner.

Mojo is a 3rd line winger that we play as a 2nd line C. Botteril does not deserve credit for VO. Your continued defense of Botterils incompetence amazes me. Is he a relative? He has managed the cap poorly in addition to all the rest of his errors. Managing the salary cap was supposedly his are of expertise when he was hired. Waddell's hands were tied in Atlanta by terrible ownership unwilling to spend to the cap. He has been a fine GM. Was he Carolinas GM when they decided not to give Skinner the big contract? if so that was another brilliant move.

Even with this partial lineup you have Montour playing out of position where he is ill suited to play. Just terrible roster management by Botteril. l All we have is LW and RD.

Marty is like Murphy for the Bills, they are both company men and never say anything critical at all. This is what is so shocking. I'm worried that even if they acquired a Center like Trocheck, Skinner's production might not improve. Botteril could ask him to waive his NMC, but he currently has negative value and can not be moved without giving up assets or taking a cap dump back.

Skinner was no steal. Carolina's GM who is infinitely better than ours determined that it was unwise to spend big money on a one dimensional sniper (with a concussion history) at the least valuable position. The results this year speak for themselves. We are now in possession of the worst contract in the league and Carolina is headed to the playoffs.

TM gets credit for bringing in Jack and Sam since it was an intentional tank. Botteril tried to win but was so incompetent he stumbled into Dahlin.

Cirelli's name comes up because supposedly Tampa is in such dire cap hell that they can't resign both Sergachev and Cirelli. I don't know if this is true or not.

If Cirelli is out for a long time than now is a good time for tampa to trade him for Risto Erod and Mitts. If only their GM was as stupid as Botteril

What's curious to me is that we plug a rookie into Skinner's role on the top line and he's suddenly amazing. Even Vesey starts scoring when he's on the top line. If a player like Skinner is useless without Eichel and Sam, than he is clearly not worth a huge contract.

Wow, I have never heard Marty so critical of any Sabres player. He went on and on about how poorly Skinner was playing with a poor attitude and taking stupid penalties. He felt that Skinner has not been putting in the effort and did not deserve to be rewarded by playing with Eichel. I'm very concerned that even with a 2C next year Skinner won't be an impact player.

This is the greatest article written about the incompetence of Botteril. As fans it is our duty to force the Pegulas hands. People attending the games must chant in unison loudly "FIRE BOTTERIL NOW' It's the only way this nightmare is going to end.

I would not trade our !st round pick. I'm worried that Montour is going to get paid 6 million/year by us. I agree that to get a 2C we will have to trade MIller or Montour. I would prefer to keep Risto since he is the only physical presence on the wimpiest team in the league.

I don't think Montour sucks, rather he is a solid bottom 4 defensemen. I feel like Botteril overpaid to acquire Montour, and he is not much better than Guhle. We are also overstocked at RD and I think Botteril is going to overpay Montour on his new contract.
