  1. Consider yourself lucky for getting floor tickets! My buddy and I tried buying right at 10am today, and the best we could get was way up in 214
  2. Got tickets for Tool at Blue Cross Arena this morning! Tuesday May 30. I saw them in Austin a few years ago, too.
  3. Bro it's true, the internet says so. It also says that Luke Adam scored two goals
  4. Hrmmm. It appears to be accurate: http://mcubed.net/nhl/buf/la.shtml However, you'll notice from the link that they actually beat the Kings 4-2 in an away game the '11-'12 season! But lo, that game was in Berlin to kick off that season in October 2011, counting as an LA "home game": https://www.nhl.com/news/adam-scores-twice-sabres-beat-kings-4-2-in-first-nhl-game-in-germany/c-595072 Edit: I think the current schedule format (wherein each team plays a home & away with each team in the opposite conference) began in 2013-2014. In 12-13, they didn't play each other, in 11-12, they played @LA (in Germany), in 10-11 they played @BUF, and in 09-10 they played @LA (Rivet's aforementioned goal).
  5. Disappointingly, I am flying out to LA tomorrow evening, in time to barely miss the chance to see the Sabres @LA and @ANA :wallbash: Did the same thing a few weeks ago -- I departed Denver the morning they played the Avs... I actually plan to catch the ~second half of the game at 716 or somewhere near the KeyBank Center post-NCAA Tournament. My Hokies are playing Wisconsin at KBC starting at 9:40pm, so I will be in attendance. Speaking of which, we probz need to get a NCAA Tourney thread going, eh?
  6. Technically it's at 10:30pm EDT, not EST. :P Sabres playing the Sharks is an automatic two points, right? Sounds like Fasching might not necessarily play tonight, perhaps Thu or Fri in LA/Ana.
  7. I can't not post the Alexander Semin slap fight:
  8. It is interesting to see a breakdown of (at least a couple of) the team's expenses and incomes in that article (sponsorship money, ticket sales, travel costs). I always wondered how some of these minor league hockey (or baseball) teams an possibly stay in business. I wonder if there are team-by-team or league-by-league comparisons listed somewhere?
  9. A lot of the negativity around here, in my opinion, is neither impressive nor productive...... Go Sabres! As mentioned previously, Bobrovsky is riding a three-game shutout streak into tonight. I imagine he'll play at home tonight and take off tomorrow in BUF? Per the Columbus Dispatch:
  10. Hey iT! Yes, I am still in. I hope others will take you up on the offer as well. Perhaps it will be good enough weather for a bicycle commute, which will make it easier for me to get my drink on, too  Thanks! Perhaps we can get a separate, pinned thread going for this the week of.
  11. Gotta be CB, Safety, or WR in the first round. They have to go into it knowing who they like, and in the case that their guy(s) don't fall to them, which teams might be willing to trade up. Those who say "no" to a CB in Round 1: Who do you expect to start? Darby and.... Seymour? Seymour showed some promise in his rookie year, and I'm sure the coaching staff has been evaluating his potential for this year and for down the road. But CB and S both need to be addressed, and CB I think will be tough to address responsibly in free agency. Definitely looking at OJ Howard from Alabama. But I agree that TE can be addressed later on in the draft (a la Chris Gragg, or Nick O'Leary a couple years ago). Regarding Clay - I think folks are still clamoring for a second TE. Speaking of Gragg, I wonder what his deal is? Recall that DeAngelo Hall blew up his ACL during the preseason this past August. I liked Gragg, and I thought that injury stung a bit. I wonder if he'd be back to 100% for training camp, or if anyone (Bills or otherwise) will give him a contract.
  12. I'll emphasize that the game is on NBCSN, and puckdrop not until 7:30pm. Woof.
  13. I'm going to plan on it! Good idea. I'd like to throw Dinosaur BBQ and Exchange Sports Bar (where Nathaniel's used to be) into the idea hat as well. Both very close to the Arena.
  14. Finally read the article and watched the video here! Awesome! Well done, CJ and John. I enjoyed this part... especially Bogo... haha:
  15. Yep. And believe me, I <3 Tyrod more than most. There are arguments for going both ways with it, and it'll be interesting to see how this plays out here soon. Regarding your pennywise statement -- you could also argue that they won't do any better pennywise with a veteran FA QB (similar prices for worse than Tyrod), so he'd be at a good price. It made me nervous last year when the Bills were negotiating this contract with Tyrod, with the out-clauses (or whatever) after the 2016 season: "If he's awesome, then we have our QB of the future at a decent price! If he sucks or shows to be injury-prone, then we just move on!" Well, what if he's somewhere in the middle? Now we've got this whole situation.
  16. Sal Capaccio seemed to be high on Mahomes this morning, as well. I think he's the one QB I wouldn't mind them drafting, whether it's at 10th overall, or perhaps later in the first (trade back a la the EJ pick). It seems to me that Tyrod is still the best chance they have to win in 2017, and picking up his contract this year wouldn't be at a ridiculous price. However, if the Bills truly are building for the future -- i.e., planning to become a legit contender in two to four years with some other QB at the helm -- then cutting Tyrod and going with a cheap Siemian, Mahomes, etc. + Cardale would be helpful (cap-wise) in fulfilling that. But, would the Pegulas be willing to be patient with Whaley and let him play it all out that way? It's tough for us to know that, and that's ok.
  17. Who was the poster that constantly posted the Eklund rumors years ago? I loved how the other posters would jump all over him
  18. Was just looking at this. MODO, another way you can look at it is that: If the Sabres go 13-3-3 down the stretch, they STILL have less than 50% chance of making it in. :( Edit: Ummmm but, also, if they were to run the table and go 19-0-0 (or even slip to a 18-0-1!), they will clinch. So..... they control their own destiny!!! I hereby do declare tonight's game to be a MUST-WIN.
  19. Drew Stafford to Bruins for a conditional 6th round pick
  20. Wow! I wonder, if SabreSpace had existed, whether we would have questioned if Hasek would be fine??? B-)
  21. :w00t: That was a good one. I thought that that chirp, plus others, were Marty Biron mic'ed up?
  22. I had a buddy who was a phenomenal goaltender for a horrible central NY high school team - like they would typically lose 3-1 because he gave up 3 goals on 70 shots. To keep himself sane, he would often clear the puck by whipping it toward the opposition's bench/coach (it's not a delay game of game penalty if the puck exits play by going into the bench area), and these decent teams' coaches would become livid at his otherwise turd of a team.
  23. SJ won 8 of 9 before a SO loss to the Yotes on Saturday. This the start of an east cost road trip for them. But Buffalo always beats SJ! Nilsson tonight?
  24. Well........... they've got a back-to-back here: @NJ tonight, and SJS tomorrow. And as mentioned upthread, lots of games coming up (Thurs, and another back-to-back Sat and Sun). So it seems possible that Nilsson gets either tonight or tomorrow. Lehner still seems to be the obvious choice for tonight, though.
