  1. Pro tip: If you aren't in a rush to get out after the game, visit the sushi guys and they may give you whatever they didn't sell to take home with you.
  2. Lauren Hall, no? Wait, chz = Lauren Hall?
  3. D'oh! Thanks. I'll edit my post. Don't know how I messed that up?
  4. Six-way tie for 11th in the conference.. that is, the bottom six teams all have 49 points. At this time, it is looking like the targets should be PHI and BOS at 54 points (BUF has TWO [edit] and FOUR [edit] games in hand), rather than the third spot in the division (OTT and TOR at 57 and 55, each with ONE [edit] game in hand on the Sabres). As far as I'm concerned, there are five teams that are basically un-catchable (WAS, CBJ, PIT, and NYR in the Metro, and MTL in our Atlantic), although any of them could still slip. The teams mentioned in the above paragraphs will have losing streaks, and the teams at the bottom with BUF will have winning streaks. We need to just enjoy the ride.
  5. Why can't they be like we were? Perfect in every way! B-)
  6. Doohickie uses DailyFaceOff: http://www2.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/lines/16/buffalo-sabres/ http://www2.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/lines/40/toronto-maple-leafs
  7. Ovechkin scored his 1000th career point tonight
  8. BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos at the arena in Raleigh are good. But I agree with those saying that yellow chips with cheese is not worth it. I voted popcorn -- top with jalapenos FTW!
  9. So, USA-RUS rematch in Semifinal #1, Wednesday at 3pm. And CAN-SWE in Semi #2 at 7:30pm
  10. Since the Sabres' sweet 6-3 comeback win in Boston on 12/26/2015, the Bruins have won the last five in a row, including one in OT and one in the SO.
  11. TrueBlue is correct that it is the 2018 WJC, but it's worth mentioning that it is in fact one year from now - it begins Dec. 26, 2017. Edit: And, the outdoor game at New Era Field is actually on Friday, December 29, 2017.
  12. I think this sounds about right. Getzlaf missed only four games when he had this.
  13. Merry Christmas, y'all. Came here to re-post this gem from TBD: http://www.torontosun.com/2012/12/06/bad-santa-insults-three-year-old
  14. Nice. I imagine that since a change in speed causes the goalie to react, the shooter then has a couple of of moves/options based on what the goalie's reaction is.
  15. While I agree with your first two sentences here, it may also be that people are leaving because they have to wade through four feet of sewage to get to the hockey content. That said... I don't intend to complain, because I also don't offer any solution. I do trust that the mods' intentions are good.
  16. Cool stats, I'd often wondered about the comparison, but apparently not enough to actually go do some homework on it. As you said, there are a lot of variables. I'd like to think you'd choose a PP over penalty shot for a number of reasons: goalie matchup, to slow down pace of the game... Let's say you're up by one goal with 4:00 left in the third period; a 2:00 man advantage will give you a better chance to win the game, I'd think.
  17. Nice. I just had to look up the record after seeing your post. Check out a sweet Age Distribution graph here: http://www.quanthockey.com/Distributions/RookieAgeDistribution.php Connie Madigan was 38 when he made his debut in 1972-73 for the Blues:
  18. Sometimes calling for the puck, or letting the other team know you are in a threatening spot, might cause the other team some confusion and/or open up an opportunity for your teammate though, no?
  19. All hail the great King D4rk, who can partaketh in more wings than us all!! :worthy: Actually I remember causing a stir on here when I bragged about eating 51 wings on my 22nd birthday (this was in 2008). That was an extreme act of gluttony though... Here's d4rk on the right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RCHKCPe_RI
  20. For those in Rochester: I recently found the Exchange Sports Bar, where Nathaniel's used to be, just south of Blue Cross Arena. Their wings were incredible - spot on! (Note: sample size = one.) Has anyone checked out the new Duff's in Henrietta (Rochester)?
  21. I may have missed this discussion, but... Was there concern about Carrier staying beyond the customary 9 games? I see he's played 16 games already! How did that work out - Is he up for good? Can he be sent between ROC and BUF as they please (this season)? Thanks...
