  1. THANK YOU for the heads up. Just called and ordered my four. See details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/850594708381185/The rep (Jordan) said there have been 420+ tickets purchased through this group so far. The seats will be in 331 or 332 (~25-yard line). Tailgate is within the stadium, starting two hours prior to kickoff, and includes buffet plus three drink tickets. For what it's worth, the cheapest tickets I see for that 331/332 right now are $65. This package is $85, guarantees lower in the section and with the Bills group, plus the tailgate party.
  2. Oh, also, just found full play-by-play from Saturday's scrimmage: http://nysportsbiz.com/2015/08/09/bills-camp-full-play-by-play-transcript-of-saturdays-scrimmage/ It seems to suggest that Tyrod didn't take off running as many times as I recalled. Also, after the scrimmage was over, the four QB's were doing cross-field sprints. Not sure who dictated/suggested/pushed that they do such (I'd assume they were doing them under their own prerogative rather than punishment). Cassel looks quite athletic. Tyrod was crushin' them. Corbin Bryant, separately, was doing cross-field sprints. Also, many are hypothesizing that Cassel is getting the start Friday versus Panthers (per Rex) as a final audition, versus the Panthers' #1's on D.
  3. I was at the scrimmage Saturday and I too was disappointed in Tyrod, along with Rex and some fans around me. (Note: I am REALLY rooting for Tyrod; he was the QB at VT when I was there.) It seemed he had trouble numerous times getting through his progressions, or knowing where to look for his receivers. He took off running the ball as his last resort more quickly and more often than I expected him to. One time he had both Sammy and Woods wide left and didn't look over there at all before running with it (maybe there was immediate pressure that prevented that, but it did not seem so). I know this is all with an untrained eye (mine), but just offering what I saw. EJ looked VERY shaky the first two series. His confidence went way up his last couple series though. He looked very confident stepping up for those two strikes downfield (and another impressive strike that Hogan dropped 20 yards downfield, actually). In all, while I'm not worried (because, hey, I have no idea what their practice plans really entail!), nothing about the scrimmage really instilled any confidence in me.
  4. MolsonCanadian chemnerd hEathcliff? Calmnflacid44 For myself: Milk? SuperCereal? So Not Being Cereal Right Now Y'all remember that Dave/SuperDave saga? Deranged Canes fan,
  5. Caught this article the other day on Blake Frohnapfel from UMass. Any insight on this guy?
  6. Wow, all this Asheville talk :) Has anyone ever come across the Root Bar? Played Root ball? Also, I was near Brussels, Belgium for work and spent three days there this past weekend. Definitely made the most of it. I had many good beers... Leffe Blonde, Duvel Triple Hop, Vedett IPA... Admitedly, I didn't do any research ahead of time in order to create a checklist, kinda just went with it. Also, patrons frequently had their dogs in the bars over there.
  7. Just came across some tidbits here... the five California teams will only play 68 games instead of 76: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015%E2%80%9316_AHL_season
  8. Not sure if our European friends have ever weighed in with these regards, but speaking to my German friend the other day, he said he LOVES the weekend afternoon games. 1pm ET start time here equals 7pm start time there.

  11. Heads up - The Oilers play the Preds in Nashville Saturday night (Oct. 10) before Bills@Titans. My group will probably try to go to that. I know there is a Preds STH on here somewhere, perhaps he may have advice on getting tickets.
  12. Haha, thanks? :P He had a few awesome goals in the qualifiers two years ago when I started trying to get into soccer, and helped me get hooked. My first memories of enjoying the game as a fan. Kinda like how I have this photographic memory of LaFontaine no-look-passing the puck to Mogilny from behind the net for a sweet one-timer goal, and it sticks out as one of my earliest fond memories as a little Sabres fan. Except it's Jozy Altidore and soccer and I was 26 years old and drunk.
  13. I just purchased tickets for the Gold Cup Final on Sunday July 26 at The Link in Philadelphia. I'm working under the assumption that the U.S. advances to the Final (feel free to blame me if they don't...) So, any advice for a first-timer? Like, Attending a USMNT Game 101? I also finally purchased a Jozy Altidore jersey, which i am very excited about. And yes, I know the timing is kinda funny with Jozy getting pulled after halftime the other day in favor of Zardes, who assisted on Dempsey's winner just two minutes in!
  14. Eichel is now available for the line combinations!
  15. Leino? Can he play center?
  16. Wow... 225 points in 265 AHL games, ain't too shabby. 15 games NHL experience with the Flyers
  17. GMTM stuttered bigtime in the presser when asked what happened with a potential Brandon Saad deal. "One of us [bUF/CHI] ended up walking away from it, forgot which one of us... maybe it was mutual."
  18. Whoa I hadn't heard that. Is this new info? Any details on that?
  19. Looks like San Jose signs Paul Martin for four years, based on tsn trade tracker
  20. McGinn just said on WGR he'll be wearing #88

  22. Gahhhhhh I love it, except it made me angry that Eichel isn't an option.... I could not continue:
  23. Crouse eats a worm for $100; will he be fine?? http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=53&id=830694&lang=en&navid=nhl:topheads Happy Eichel Day!
  24. I'd always pegged PBR as my cheap beer of choice, and then, when challenged, failed a taste test between it and Lone Star when I moved to Texas a few years back
