Impossible for me to rate this draft.. Probably a B if I were to toss a grade at it. Its a B because we got no short term help. This draft was all about 3- 5 years down the road. SO to be upset about not drafting a defenseman early doesn't hold much water. I'm sure J Bo is aware of the need to get some D man into our system.. How he handles that will be what we all are watching

Those 1st rd picks will take years to be ready so even if they all turnout to be great pros it will be 4 or 5 years before that all comes to fruition. They have an entire minor league team to build as well for depth and 3 1st rd picks will help that but its going to be extremely hard for an expansion team to become a playoff contender in short time... and if 1st rd picks were the only key to long term sucess why did 3 teams offer their 1st rd pick just to get a player off their books much ado about nothign.. Vegas seems to be doing things well but they won't be contenders for some time

Housley wants to instill passion. I would of been more impressed if he had said he wanted to work towards a winning culture and recapture passion because losing will suck the passion out of anyone... Tocchet or Housley. Both are good with communication and are top candidates. Either will do IMO... But when it comes to politics religion and sports.. I find his brash honesty refreshing and feel he is the teams true captain but just being on Bills and Sabres forums its easy to see how we will never succeed with our fans. Our fans are to over the top vocal and to many have no lives outside sports to point where i play less and less attention to the teams because i have to deal with the fans If I'm Jack i tell everyone to bite me and prepare to leave the city. Moulson and Gorges were vets used who kept us at the cap floor for a few years. They were always going to be future purges, and that was planned. Cap hit doesn't even phase me because I actually knew why the contract were given to them in the 1st place Maybe I'm missing something but we are no where near cap troubles. (We have $25 million open this offseason. ) . Sam has a better market do to his youth and no off ice incidents Sam didn't impress me this year, and Kane although a pain was still one of our top scorers.. SO I think Sam could be traded for the top D man we need to acquire

what non sense is this. We have an extremely young team in many areas. Many of our issues is the adjustment for young players to grasp the pro game... We are # 1 powerplay team with a bottom penalty kill.. Al we need ot fix is the penalty kill area alone for probably 10 more wins next season Defense wise we need 2 players in FA that can fill out top 4 roles. One of them being a top line player who can kill penalties Offense wise our 2 best scorers had injury issues this year.... Good chance both Eichel and Kane can net 40 next season.... Way to much over reaction from Sabres fans regarding how to improve this team.. Just typical for Buffalo fans these days....... Gutting this team would be beyond stupid

Oh how I love the pessimistic attitude of Buffalonians.. Wallow in it, bathe in it, get it all over you. I bet it feels just wonderful or could be about future and gaining playing time. playoff teams today are rebuild teams tomorrow... For all the hatred fans throw against the Sabres we still have a very young and talented core and only need a few key pieces. We have a few older overpaid vets that will be purged in the not to distant future so there are potential lineup spots and playing time in the near future for these players having owners who wil commit to winning for better or for worse also speaks ot these players knowing they are not going to be hung out to dry.. there is obviously commitment to a championship in Buffalo (for better or for worse)

I have 0 issues with the Pegulas Not easy righting this ship what has me laughing hysterically is the thought that all of our sports woes would be fixed easily and quickly when the Pegulas came into town. Finding the right GM or Coach has as much to do with who is available and who wants to come to a small market like Buffalo as it does actually making the choice to offer a job to sed person. We ended up with Blysma because that was the best of the rest at the time....... Not many other coaches with real experience and some measurable success available at that time, and hindsight is always 20/20 for Buffalo sports fans... So all this jumping up and down on GMTM for hiring him really confuses the hell out of me given the reality. Reading how if we don't find a top 2 defense man or 2 this off season means GMTM has to go is just a strange thing to think because more than likely the end decision on who is coming and who is not has just as much to do with personal choices of the player/agent. I fully expect an all out pursuit for defense man.. That's all I ask.. The end results will be up to player and out of anyones hands..... the Sabres and Pegulas will roll out the red carpet for any potential FA.... That is all they can do Were moving forward in both franchises and changes are being made often to continue to right the ship so not much else can be done but to stay a fan and watch wait and hope.
