I didnt say the pollsters werent methodical and even the callers try hard, but accounting for the unknown is difficult and then in politics the lying on answers or answering one way on issues but voting another way based on socio ethno norms are difficult to weed out and a 1-2% error rate can be a huge difference in polls. Also determining who actually will vote, turnout is a huge issue and which sides ground game is most effective. All huge problems for pollsters to accurately assess. And ground games can vary widely from one election to next, so prior elections are not always a good barometer, unless its the same candidate and much of the same staff.

Could be, we used float ideas in the press anonymously to get a discussion going especially if it made the other side look bad, or if we were concerned an idea internally had to many flaws. Bad press allowed us justification on killing the idea... or helped raise funds even if we knew it was going nowhere.

Asking, question bias, picture in time.. those that dont answer,lie.... all issues especially in politics. Wilder in VA for Governor we assumed had a 5-7 point negative in polls because of racial bias. And it played out he won if I remember by 5 points despite polls saying he was up by 13. Talking tracking polls.

We saw them driving back on 95 right after the last shoot, kid in the back made a face at us. Caught our attention. Called in a couple white vans then mentioned the caprice and they got all interested gave them license plate then they shut down beltway and found them the next day in northern MD truck stop.

Go there in early June before the summitt is opened up to cars. From the Lodge you can ride a bicycle up to where the road is blocked by the last of the winter avalanches and it is impressive on the Highway to the Sun in Glacier National Park. That picture was near the base and is of my oldest son. It was a spectacular ride up the mountain.

Now that would be something... especially with Cozens coming probably next year... or can percolate for another year in say the A
