This is where I am at and the lack of high end developed centers is concerning except there are not many to trade for, but waiting sucks.

I hear you and I lean the other way. I see him as a tough player who when just focused on hockey is pretty good... but a lot of his actions off the ice seemed overly focused on himself and not as a leader. Again hard to tell because we were not there, but I was hoping for more from ROR. Maybe he isnt cable of that kind of leadership and our expectations were too high. There was some sort of disconnect in Buffalo and maybe a more experienced coach could have dealt with it more effectively. I suspect in ROR's case, having been raised in an alcoholic family, he showed signs of both brilliance and being lost... classic family dynamics of dysfunction. My opinion only. The way he handled these issues effected him on this team and again not a good fit given the Sabres team dynamics. I believe the inexperience of Housley hurt ROR a lot and I do think he tried given the tools he had. Again we dont know the real story... and bottom line... it didnt work for the Sabres.

Erod is a swiss army knife and can play center or wing. I am betting Larrson or Girgs goes before he does... but right now a 2 year deal at 1.7 or 1.8 isn't bad.

I am more with you on this... I want to see what Kreuger can do with these guys including Risto. I am ok if he is still here if Botts cannot get enough value for him. I to am luke warm about trading him unless for a kings ransom. We will see since this is all speculation. Add a guy like Eakin and if the center position doesn't work out go searching around the trade deadline and draft another one next year... I am betting teams will need D next year mid season and the Sabres have some pieces. It will also give Kreuger a better idea in what he has in Pilut and Bogo as well as some of the young guys. Still 2C is such a question mark, I understand why folks feel the way they do because Risto is the only guy with enough value to get a 2C coming back.

I'd be ok with bringing in Kunitz for a look and check out fit. Guy has always been tough in front of the net and worked behind the net well. He would be better than the anchor that is Sobotka. Not sure how much, but worth a look.

I was diagnosed out as many know with a bladder cancer that I had surgery to remove. Found out early this week is was stage 3 not 1 very scary. Had a CT scan yesterday and got the results.. no evidence of any spread of the cancer!!!! Still will probably have chemo and other treatment, but this is huge!!!
