  1. The problem with Harrington's question is that it's pure hyperbole based on pretty much zero actual evidence. We don't have "virtually every former employee" calling Kim's leadership "scattershot". We have some "rumblings" at best, and nothing nearly that severe. If he wanted to question her leadership, there's probably a much more tactful way of doing it. He just sounds like a Twitter troll.
  2. Based on what, exactly? Because all evidence points to him being essentially a co-equal with Krueger in this structure. Having an older, more experienced AGM shouldn't be an issue.
  3. You guys ready for Darcy Regier Part II, "Do Something!" Boogaloo?
  4. Which fits if you're trying to restructure to give analytics a bigger role in your team building. The entire analytics hobbyist community started by watching video of games and many of them have leveraged that amateur "video scouting" into actual jobs, and even full departments, within many NHL orgs. There would appear to be merit to it, if you're someone who thinks analytics in an important piece of the puzzle.
  5. I'm even more curious now about what Adams' role really was leading up to this. He seems to know way more about the Sabres inner workings than you would expect him to given his known roles in the org. Curiouser and curiouser...
  6. I mean, I don't really think Pilut was that good, but I just had a hunch that after all the gnashing of teeth on Sabres Twitter yesterday about Adams that he was going to come out and preach analytics and Sabres Twitter would do an immediate about-face and become his greatest acolytes.
  7. Welcome to Purgeatory
  8. Why couldn't it be Adams, Kim's errand boy? She basically admitted to using him as a conduit between management and ownership. Why that needed to be there I have no idea, but he was clearly in some kind of position to express an opinion on Botterill.
  9. I guess if this is the angle we're running with. But I would expect someone other than the Pegulas put that list together. Which would point to Adams. I don't really know who's side I'm on. Maybe the Pegulas are right and Botterill was running a bloated and ineffective staff? Maybe Botterill was right for resisting their demands? I don't have any faith in either party in this matchup.
  10. Adams knowing exactly who he's canning on day 1 means he had a plan ready to go. Which means he knew this was coming for a while. Was he...a mole?
  11. I mean, video scouting is basically what all the analytics hobbyists are doing and they're making actual careers out of it...
  12. What's weird is that he wasn't already doing vision exercises. It's a pretty common thing now for goalies at all levels to basically do eye exercises to increase their puck tracking ability.
  13. Yeah, Eichel is the problem. It's definitely not all the AHLers he has to play hockey with. Lord have mercy.
  14. Let me, ah, philosophize a bit. Perhaps if you're someone like Terry and Kim, you look at the successes and wealth you have accumulated and you tell yourself "I have done difficult things, and I have solved difficult problems" and it becomes a sort of myth you tell yourself. And so when presented with a situation like owning a hockey team, you say "this will be difficult, but I have done difficult things" and so you make things difficult in order to fulfill that myth. The more difficult the job feels, the greater the hero you are in your own story. "I will solve this difficult thing, and it will be my greatest triumph" you say, as the people you surround yourself with lose their minds in the chaos you create.
  15. Owning a hockey team cannot be as difficult as the Pegulas make it seem?
  16. And I'm gonna add one more thing. I don't know what the answers are anymore, but if I never hear a prospective GM called a "savant", or "genius", or "wizard", or anything of that nature ever again, I'll consider that a success. What's Kevyn Adams? Who cares. He's a guy. Hopefully he can just put some *****in hockey players on the ice that don't stink to high heaven.
  17. I'm going to sum up my feelings on today with this: Building a reasonably functional hockey team cannot be as difficult as the last two GMs made it seem.
  18. It's a slaughter!
  19. I can't say it doesn't feel like they're just trying to cut salary to help the bottom line while hockey is essentially paused. Nothing to really scout, nothing to really manage.
  20. There is not a single person here who would say they are happy.
  21. Right. Botterill, theoretically, was ready to execute some kind of master plan that might have crippled this team for years. Maybe Krueger and Adams can prove to be more careful with their asset management.
  22. Frankly, they could be brothers.
