  1. Yeah, and? It appears to be something that would be hard to detect. It's hard to blame anyone for not having diagnosed it right away. The symptoms might not have presented as something obvious. Hutton might have just thought he was fatigued, or maybe not mentally focused. The concern is that after they "discovered" it in January he still played 15 more games and went 6-8-0. Could they not have put him on IR? Is there no way to evaluate this or treat it as an injury where the player shouldn't be playing?
  2. This effing team man
  3. Looks like the certificate for the landing page expired.
  4. I was going to let it renew even if the Sabres weren't playing just because I want good writers to be employed. But if Yerdon isn't going to be there then I don't give a damn.
  5. The Athletic laid off a portion of its writers today, including our very own Joe Yerdon. Needless to say I have canceled my subscription since they no longer offer a product I want to read.
  6. Same. Really good competitive cycling can be very exciting to watch.
  7. I wouldn't Johansson was not good in the NHL last year.
  8. Hogan's Heroes is such a good show though. The humor really holds up, which can't be said for a lot of what came out of that era of comedy. And Klemperer's portrayal of Klink is top notch, which I think does a lot of the heavy lifting for the show.
  9. That was really friggin cool
  10. Yeah, he didn't seem to bring too much before the season went on hold.
  11. It's what he's gonna do though
  12. I don't think there's anything wrong with him. He's just the same inconsistent goalie he's always been. That Botterill thought otherwise isn't really Hutton's fault.
  13. I can't imagine Krueger would stay in the HC position if he were moved up the chain. The only way that would happen is if the hierarchy didn't have an actual GM, just a management board of various people taking care of GM and AGM duties, that he is the head of. I wonder if the whole GM/Coach split in the NHL even needs to exist. Why not just have the coach overseeing a management group. Wouldn't a coach directing the people who build the team make more sense than the people who build the team directing the coach?
  14. I doubt he brings another goalie in before he's had a look at Hutton in the regular season. No one is going to take Hutton's cap hit, so the only option is waivers. He'd have to work out the same deal with Hutton that he did with Bogo: waive him knowing he wont report to Rochester, terminate the contract, then Hutton can go try to sign for cheaper with another NHL team.
  15. If Krueger's position in the org changes it's going to be because Botterill was fired and the Pegulas wanted Krueger to stay. It's as simple as that. I could see him ending up as the much invoked "hockey czar" who oversees the Sabres and Amerks. The guy who sets the mission, monitors goals, handles logistics to make sure his GMs have the tools they need, and provides a layer between the Pegulas and the day-to-day stuff. His experience as Chairman of an EPL team basically makes him a good fit for that kind of role here. I'd be fascinated to see what kind of structural re-organization he could come up with. I wonder if there's a better way to run a hockey team from top to bottom...
  16. I might be misremembering, but I don't think Skinner eventually being reunited with Jack this year ended up making things any better. Skinner still didn't produce. He has bad years like this sometimes. He'll bounce back. Blame Botterill for not giving Ralph enough tools to do anything other than flip Olofsson and Skinner to try to get more than one line to produce offense.
  17. I hope so. Mhmmm
  18. It'd be pretty low risk to take a look. I'm just trying to think of ways this idea of Krueger being a "player's coach" might be attractive. I think it's been mentioned in the past that Eberle liked him. Jack's gushing about him can't hurt. Players talk, ya know? Can the Concept of Krueger do some of the heavy lifting...
  19. I've been thinking... Would Nail Yakupov be a player the Sabres should look at for RW depth this off-season? He was a Calder finalist under Krueger in Edmonton in 12-13. Never quite got back to that level after Krueger was let go. But if he was playing for a coach he liked...perhaps on Jack's wing...
  20. ? Krueger putting that "Risto wanted to be traded" speculation to rest...by confirming it.
  21. I can't imagine that this is the case.
  22. They must be laughing their butts off in Pittsburgh.
  23. Hmm. I have no opinion of Hamilton as a mouthpiece for the Pegulas since I'm blocked by him on Twitter and never see his content...
