  1. I'm not sure about that, d4rk and 9's are pretty freaking sarcastic. :)
  2. Well, yeah. I was thinking more about the August-September timeframe, I'm sure it ramps up during the season. Too bad there's not a 2-year graph so we can compare the cycles. Personally, I rarely go to NHL.com unless it's to check scores and maybe read game summaries. Since there's none to be checked, I never go now.
  3. I'm trying to decide if this genre should be termed "Bike Opera" or "Road Opera" (as in "Soap". :) I haven't watched it, sounds like more TV giving real bike guys a black eye.
  4. To be honest, I'd be shocked if the curve up to September didn't look like that every year.
  5. I wonder how many of the "Super Mario" shirts they're selling. :)
  6. I could go either way. I had a Twitter account for several years that I paid no attention to whatsoever. It don't think it's unthinkable that he was hacked, but I'm not sure why you'd be removed from the team because of a hack.
  7. Yeah, really. That's a lot of money, but not "I'm rich!" money. Probably 50% to taxes on winnings off the top, and the rest puts him at middle class ($50k/yr) for 10 years. A nice nest egg or investment, but you're still going to be a working stiff for awhile.
  8. Damn, now you have my hopes up for some kind of resolution, any resolution, sooner rather than later.
  9. I think people in Philly are ready to latch onto anything that isn't Andy Reid right now judging by WIP this morning. I know it's a little sick, but the only time I tune into sports radio around here is after an Eagles loss so I can hear the meatheads go apocalyptic. My thoughts exactly.
  10. +1 on that. She's reasonably hot until she opens her mouth. Hmmm, that may cause a problem too.
  11. I was going to say Holzinger, I seem to remember Sanderson scoring some goals with all that speed.
  12. Well, hopefully they'll listen to their marriage counselor.
  13. IMHO, Drambuie isn't something you'd drink on it's own. I've done it, it's really sweet and a little syrupy. As someone mentioned, the Rusty Nail (50/50 with whiskey) is awesome. I'm not sure I'd use a nice Scotch with it since the Drambuie may overpower the Scotch, but the peaty note may be interesting. I think I know what I'll be trying later tonight. I've always done it before with whatever Irish or Canadian whiskey I've had on-hand. Michael Collins Single Malt Irish Whiskey is nice. It's like a less-intense Scotch.
  14. This is the first year I've had to do double-Thanksgiving. I think I managed to do it reasonably well since I weigh the same today as I did yesterday. I contributed a savory corn bread pudding to both. Cast iron skillet, sweat onions, rosemary, and thyme with butter. Pour a batter of cornmeal, eggs, cream, cream corn, parmesan cheese, cubed french bread, etc. over the top of the herbs and bake. It's far more moist than average corn bread, and not sweet at all. Great stuff. One of these times I'm going to chop a jalapeno to put in it, but I'm always making it for other people so I don't want to screw it up.

    OT: Hobbies

The early PS3s (with four USB ports) did play PS2 games via extra hardware. The later models deleted that functionality. I've never thought about PS1 games, there's probably enough CPU in the PS3 to do the emulation in software.
  16. It's on now (Tuesday, 11:30am). Sounds like this may be Marty's first game, so I'd think it was an emergency. Edit: Not is first game, that was December 26th, 1995. This game is January 1996 so he's played maybe one or two.
  17. And both did some National broadcasts, right? I'm going with that.
  18. Just a silly joke about an illegal goal. Unless I find out Maradona is having Twitter-fights with Englanders about a decades-old goal. ;) EDIT: Then it occurs to be that the goal was Brett Hull not Roenick. Can I plead drunk on that one or do I have to go with incompetence? I have no idea how I got that confused.
  19. Ah, I see now. His player plays it while he's on-sides, then the defender kicks it up and back after that. It just looked like he was out in the middle of nowhere when the ball popped up and I thought the attacking player made the last kick. For the England thing, what you're saying is he's a second-rate Roenick, then? :)
  20. I'm confused, they're celebrating a goal that was illegal? And wasn't he off-sides to boot?
  21. Girl yes, super-spy: not so much. That's pretty much what I have, replacing the trenchcoat with my Sabres jersey. No, you can't see the pictures.
  22. It was close enough then? :) Heh, inconceivable! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CP-RQkeXkf8
