As long as it doesn't go the way the Hodgson thread went.

I wish they would stop using the term "unsigned goalie". He's playing in college, so of course he's unsigned. If he was signed, he wouldn't be NCAA eligible. That term makes it sound like a guy who was about to walk and the team would lose his rights. That's not the case here. If they want him, they still have one more year to evaluate.
-
And from that point of view, they just send out a guy who would possibly be a top 6 guy and brought back one who we know will be. Paired up with either Reinhart or McEichel, there's going to be a ton of potential there. I wasn't crazy about adding him when he first became available, but what's done is done. I'm going to focus on the potential for a very potent wing-center pairing on our first line.

I posted it earlier but I'll repeat it. He had a very strong freshman year, missed most of his sophomore year, and now has weak numbers in his junior season. RPI has a really bad team this year, so it's tough to judge based on that. Goalies are tough to judge at that level, but I've seen him described as probably not an NHL guy. Still, Murray had to have been interested in him if they added him in this deal.

The goalie throw in is the strange part of it. They had to have been interested because otherwise it makes no sense to add him. It's not like Winnipeg freed a contract by moving him. Murray seems to have a liking for late round Winnipeg draft choices, first Samuels-Thomas, now this. Who knows, maybe he bounces back in his senior year, but right now this one's a head scratcher.

Dropping Stafford and Myers in exchange for only Bogosian should weaken the team a bit for the stretch run towards McEichel. So it does have that going for it. Of course, we would have to wait and see what else would happen as the deadline approaches. I feel like if this goes through, it would be the only trade of significance this year. There might be a couple draft pick deals, but there really isn't much ammo left if/when this deal happens.

Take out everything and just send them Matt Ellis.

I bet if it was someone other than Lemieux, the reaction wouldn't be as strong. His pedigree makes him incredibly intriguing as a prospect. No one else in our system has that going for him. Bailey has the homer pedigree going for him, but that's it.

Thanks, I hadn't actually seen any ads other than the ones pushing the two night premiere this past weekend.
-
That depends on which night they're airing the new shows. If they leave it on sunday, they won't have that option because of the Walking Dead. If it is sticking to monday, problem solved.
-
Why did I have to get sick monday night and not be able to stay awake for the second episode? I'll have to figure out when they're re-airing it.

If they do bring it back, I hope they also tie it into one other group. A while back before the second attack on the prison, the governor and his new group were considering attacking a small camp in the woods, only to find out that they were beaten to it. I'd love to know who did that.

They throw a lot of random stuff out there and never touch it again. Then again, the group last season that Daryl wound up joining seemed random at first, but then they eventually brought them back. This stuff in Richmond though seems too far away from DC to be relevant to when they get there.

And at a moment where it was clear as day that the team was a seller, even that early in the season. I'd imagine we would have seen something similar this year if we actually had any trading chips with that kind of value. That's the main reason right now why we haven't seen anything. This team has nothing of value to move in a similar deal. Myers is really the only one out there, but with the time left on his contract, that is a franchise changing trade.

You mean like last year's early trade of Vanek to the Islanders? Maybe last year was more about the team in general as opposed to setting/waiting for the market to set.

And Toronto is already bringing in more money than anyone can imagine. If the league wanted to fix the whole thing, they wouldn't be sending McDavid there.
