  1. It's still not a loophole.
  2. I'd buy it, but I already have the old PlayStation re-issue of FFVI.
  3. Goalies get a longer games played window than skaters
  4. I'll admit it, I laughed.
  5. They traded for vessey knowing that he was going to free agency. That was their own screw up. Lemieux claimed that he would not have signed with us. If he held true to that, we would have lost at his rights after two years, as opposed to 4 with an NCAA guy. Remind me again of how the college guy is somehow worse than that. It's. It a sabres thing. These guys would have done it to anyone. Vessey is the perfect evidence. He did it to two different teams. They are within reach of unrestricted free agency, the ability to sign anywhere they want. Why the hell wouldn't they?
  6. It's a shame that Lemieux wasn't given the chance to follow through on his threat not to sign a few years back. It would have been hilarious to see the whining about needing to change the rules just because one guy spurned our team.
  7. Has there been one since Wheeler? So it hasn't happened in 13 years, so by all means, let's whine and bitch like it's the end of the world. Also, while we complain about drafting college players, lets also turn around and worship the wall of Eichel posters on our wall. We've been burned by a grand total of one college guy we drafted in the last ten or so years. Clearly there's a trend here.
  8. You're occasionally misguided. There's no shame in that.
  9. So who will be the one to take the complaining one step further and demand that we get compensation when he leaves in four years? I'm amazed how much stupid is out there when you go looking. Fortunately only a small amount of it has found its way here. I for one can't wait until the death of this "do t draft college players" crap occurs.
  10. Gerbe got in and this kid couldn't? Not a great sign for him.
  11. There is little sense for Vegas to do anything that reduces the number of assets they have. Move a 4th and a 6th for a 3rd round, ok. But moving higher value pieces like first rounders doesn't make much sense. They have to build out an entire organization from scratch. That takes a lot of pieces.
  12. And I was in my 30s so I guess I'm way behind in my maturation.
  13. My most shining moment was at one point during the winter where I woke up at 1:30 in the morning and immediately jumped in the shower. It wasn't until I got back into the bedroom and my wife asked me what the hell I was doing when I realized that it wasn't anywhere near my morning wake up time. It turned out really well though because there's nothing better than getting to go back to bed after you think you've woken up for the morning.
  14. Is there a singular list anywhere as opposed to multiple strung together tweets? I want bullet points.
  15. They might wind up with some decent talent, but look at how common it is for new guys to have chemistry issues after a signing or trade. Now imagine every single player on the team being in that situation. There's going to be a ton of growing pains.
  16. The best one is whichever one you are currently on the way to... like me right now
  17. That color combination feels a bit odd to me
  18. Random nitpick, but I wish they would have put an authentic version of the old preds jersey on there for the comparison. I hate seeing the size labels. Whatever person decided ages ago to do an external size label should be shot. It can only lead to fat jokes.
  19. And beyond that, he more than likely has already had very active discussions with teams about specific guys who are available. There will be no game of chicken here when it comes to the need to move someone. As for the draft itself, I'm amazed that even one team would give up a first round pick, let alone multiple teams. I could understand something in the late 20s, but that Islander pick is much earlier.
  20. Strangely enough, I think it's safe to say that each of team teams for all three of those players mentioned are content with where they are right now. There might be some cap games to be played, but they're definitely not the idiots they were made to be earlier in the thread.
  21. The defense has been just about everyone's focus in the last few months. When I read through those lists the other day, it was the first time where the goalies really jumped out at me. It really goes to show how unpredictable this whole thing could be. There's so much plausible trade bait out there that opens up so many possibilities.
  22. Yeah, one of those bad contracts went to the conference finals and the other has back to back cups. They sure are idiots. I'll concede on Phaneuf, but that's it.
  23. I like the thought of picking up at least 4 goalies. They can definitely start a little goalie carousel around the league. There's enough names on that list that can earn them a lot of trade bait. There are going to be enough teams out there who want to shuffle their deck a bit in net and there are a lot of options here.
  24. No, the idea was that you give them the negotiation rights after the expansion draft has occurred in return for them taking a Moulson or Bogosian. A pick would probably be thrown in the deal as well. And I don't mean to say it's a Buffalo specific plan. They could work something like this out with anyone. I just use the Buffalo names as an example since I'm most familiar with them. It's the money requirements from the draft that complicate things. That may convince them to draft the bad contract guy as opposed to signing the UFA. I'd love to be a fly on that wall in order to see how ridiculously involved this whole process is. And just imagine if there was a second expansion team and it was a true "you go, I go" draft process.
  25. The first time I ever flew by myself, I went to a movie the night before that had a huge plane crash scene. I'm not one to be bothered by that stuff, but I found it pretty funny. That was definitely an issue Thursday. The day was a bit of a parade of errors leading up to the appointment. I'm guessing the lesser issues today were all because that day was in the back of my mind. Sitting around and waiting while the woman tapped away at both arms trying to find a vein game it time to stew in my mind a bit. Well, that and when she poked one arm but didn't get anything. "Not this again" definitely popped into mind as she switched over to the other arm.
