  1. Why, just so we can keep the count at 3?
  2. He's going to stay in school for four years, winning both the Hobey and the Heisman each of those years. Unfortunately, he'll only be able to lead the Gopher baseball team to a .500 record.
  3. We've already seen them. You get one every 2-3 years or so. It's never going to go beyond that. These GMs have no interest in making enemies or else it would have become frequent a long time ago. The quote about the anonymous GM sounds to me like "it's coming... it won't be me, but it's coming". I think most of them have that "it won't be me" attitude.
  4. Not yet. That all has to happen once he hits the pros.
  5. Nostalgia is an ugly thing sometimes. There is absolutely no other reason for talking about a team up there other than the fact that they used to have the Whalers.
  6. Care to chime in on this one, 11?
  7. It's nice to see complete honesty. His comment pretty much nails it 100%.
  8. I still have that CD playing in my car and get a weird feeling as the final song comes up.
  9. We'll see how a full season treats him. I don't want to compare him to the likes of Marc-Andre Gragnani since their prospect status is incredibly different. But we've seen several cases where an unknown* young d-man steps into a playoff role and thrives, only to falter when more was expected of them in a full time role. There's a long road to travel from here. I can say that BU fans weren't all that thrilled with how he filled that #1 d-man role. Granted, I think a lot of that falls on the unfair expectation fans at that level build up for anyone drafted so highly. *By unknown, I mean a guy who hasn't had much, if any time at the NHL level at that point
  10. Is there any place around with an outlet? That's usually a good way to find some discounted prices as they're trying to thin out their supply of older models.
  11. Can we stop throwing the word bias around? Questioning the performance of a player does not mean that you are biased against him. I worry that you're hinting a much uglier topic by throwing that word around.
  12. Not the most efficient approach mid-game where you might have a 10 second window to get your message across.
  13. Back during the spring, I had to sign a form that essentially acknowledged a change in rate and return it to the insurance provider. They were bumbling idiots and I wound up having to send it twice. The second time I was on the phone with someone as I sent it to her, waiting to make sure she received it. She acknowledged it. A couple days later, they also called my wife to confirm that they received the form. Fast-forward to yesterday. I get a letter from my mortgage provider saying that there is no evidence that I have an existing home owners policy. They say they have to buy insurance of their own and then charge me for it. So I immediately get on the phone with the insurance provider and they confirm that the policy was canceled due to not receiving that form. So needless to say I'm not very happy about it. I tell the guy that I sent it twice, once in April and once in May and I have the emails to prove it. He looks through their system, "right, here it is, 5/5". So they got the from well ahead of time but never bothered to do anything with it. He expedited everything and it should all be taken care of within 48 hours, but I'll believe it when I see it. I have absolutely no idea how they could boot this so badly.
  14. Those kids get to cry into their pillows made out of hundred dollar bills. They won't lose any sleep
  15. I see that he still has all those top notch organizations beating down his door. Seriously though, I always wonder how they handle the language barrier when I see guys like him getting these obscure foreign jobs.
  16. The wife and I take part in a fund raiser for cancer research each year with her family. I absolutely hate sending out the requests for donations, but it's amazing how each time people you would never expect to donate do wind up doing so. I guess so many more people than you realize have that same F cancer attitude.
  17. Cumberland Farms needs to bring back their ad with the Hoff.
  18. I'd imagine the majority read anything that gets bumped up to the top of the page
  19. I have no idea what to make of this. I just watched a woman at work fill up her water bottle about 90% of the way with cold water. Then she topped it off with warm water.
  20. My neighbor just bought one and his daughter is named Alexa. I look forward to the insanity.
  21. There will be more. There always are. It's a vicious cycle that no team can avoid.
  22. I just hope Asplund has never watched an NHL game if he's saying that.
  23. He never was. Liger just really likes obsessing over prospects.
  24. And if he's that big of a student and has been hitting the classes hard, he could graduate after three years. That it he can finish during the summer. Leaving school a year early isn't that much of an obstacle for for degree.
  25. Works for me. People loved it years ago when a marginal guy like Kaleta was lighting up the higher tier prospects, but I never understood it. There's very little to gain from letting someone who thinks he has something to prove go out there and run the other kids.
